2023 Commanderie de la Bargemone Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rosé
Top Pick!
92 points Vinous: "Pale and tender pink in the glass, the 2023 Rosé rushes the mouth with lively, almost spritzy acidity. Generous and tropical in its aromatics and flavors, the mix of tart pineapple, chamomile, white cherry, mint and salty sea spray is particularly enticing. What strikes me most about the 2023 is its balance. The finish is quite long - this is everything I want from Provençal Rosé. (BN)" (05/2024) K&L Notes: Organically grown, certified Qualisud. Bargemone is among the foremost estates of the Coteaux d’Aix, a small fine-wine district ...

2023 Domaine la Colombe Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé
Top Pick!
Domaine de la Colombe is based in the village of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, located at elevations between 900 and 1,300 feet. The terroir includes clay-limestone soils in combination with sandier soils in the valley. The higher elevations combined with full sun exposure allow for full ripeness without sacrificing acidic balance and texture. It's a classic patio wine for aperitifs or lightly grilled seafood dishes.

2023 Domaine la Chapelle Saint Victor Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rosé
Top Pick!
This rosé from Domaine de la Chapelle Saint Victor AOP Coteaux d'Aix en Provence is made from a Mediterranean blend of Grenache and Cinsault, enhanced with a touch of Syrah (50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 20% Syrah). Winery note: "Light pink in color, with violet shades, this wine possesses a memorable and complex aroma. A lively wine that is smooth and possessing a certain sweetness. Very fruity, this rosé is particularly well suited as an aperitif or with salads and vegetable dishes."

Vinous: "Pouring a deep salmon color in the glass, the 2023 Rosé is all cherry juice. Dried cherry, kirsch, fresh black cherry-you name it, it's here. Creamy, sweet and sun-kissed, I can see this wine being enjoyed by readers who like Rosé on the softer side of the spectrum. It's rounded and gentle in the mouth but also completely full-flavored. The finish echoes notes of, you guessed it, cherries. (BN)" (05/2024) K&L Notes: With clean citrus and light strawberry notes, this is a subtle yet serious expression of Provence rosé for people who prefer a m...

This rosé comes from a handful of parcels that total seven hectares of vineyards planted in clay and limestone soils, on a gentle north-northwest-facing slope. Grenache-dominated, with smaller percentages of Mourvedre and Cinsault. Like the Cassis Blanc, the wine is taut, fresh and slightly saline. The winery makes only a small quantity of this, making this extremely hard to find, but its deliciousness makes it highly sought after. Get yours before it's gone.

95 points James Halliday: "Sports the prettiest musk-pink colour, but don't assume this is a particularly sweet or lightweight rosé. It's anything but. Fresh, crunchy acidity provides the basis for a display of striking fruit intensity: cherry, cranberry, acacia, pepper, spice. A light spray of juicy sweet fruit brings added succulence and length. Seriously good rosé, whatever the occasion." (11/2022) 92 points Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Grenache Mourvédre Rosé Is lovely. It’s delicious every year. With freshness and clarity of fruit, it's not hugely com...

2023 Château Pradeaux Bandol Rosé

There is the appellation of Bandol with its plethora of producers, some good, some mediocre; and then there is Château Pradeaux, the unique, inimitable, standard bearer for this ancient wine-growing district. Pradeaux is situated on the outskirts of the town of St. Cyr Sur Mer, which lies directly on the Mediterranean between Toulon and Marseilles. The estate is owned by the Portalis family, which has owned this property since before the French Revolution. The domaine is currently under the direction of Cyrille Portalis, who continues to maintain the gre...

2022 Bonny Doon "Vin Gris de Cigare" Central Coast Rosé
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Very pale in color, this bottling offers soft aromas of bubblegum and pink rose petals on the delicate nose. There's a strong mineral streak to the palate, where flavors of crushed stone and rainy cement play against the soft peach and melon fruits. *Best Buy* (MK)" (10/2023) K&L Notes: This fanciful "Pink Wine of the Earth" blends Rhône varieties grown in the Central Coast to yield a vibrant and easy-drinking rosé. Enticing notes from Bonny Doon Founder/Winemaker Randall Grahm: “There is a great synergy y between the princi...

Named for the family's second-generation winemaker, Cécile Chassagne took over the vineyard in Gigondas that had been originally planted by her father in 1974. This blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah is made in a traditional method without destemming. A long fermentation in open-topped wood tanks is followed by aging the wine for four months in large Allier oak casks. The resulting wine is a medium-bodied, meaty, and elegant expression of Gigondas terroir. And here's something new, our first direct import rosé from Gigondas. A light elegant, yet s...

2023 Peyrassol "Cuvée des Commandeurs" Côtes de Provence Rosé
Top Pick!
The name of the estate is the first indication of its long, illustrious past. Located in the heart of Provence, near routes traveled by Crusaders in the early Middle Ages, the Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded by the Knights of Templar who were dedicated to protecting the Crusaders en route to, and in, the Holy Land. The first recorded grape harvest took place in 1256 and winemaking has continued uninterrupted throughout the centuries. When the Templars were brought down in 1311 by the King of France, who was nervous of their power and jealous of thei...

The Clos Cibonne draws its name from Jean-Baptiste de Cibon, captain of Louis XVI's Royal navy and first owner of the vineyard. After his death in 1797, the property was sold to the Roux family's ancestors. In the 1930s, André Roux planted the vineyard to the Tibouren grape varietal. Since then, both children and grandchildren have carried on the tradition. Importer's Notes: "A blend of 90% Tibouren and 10% Grenache, fermented with native yeasts and aged sur lie in 100 year old foudre for at least 12 months before bottling. Salmon orange in color, the no...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Pink-fleshed melons and delicate, rocky earth aromas converge on the nose of this bottling. The palate is spritzy in acidity, with a chalky texture and white-rock flavor that complement the crisp strawberry and pluot core. (MK)" (09/2023) K&L Notes: Primarily Grenache and Syrah blended with Counoise and Cinsaut that aged in 97% stainless steel with 3% barrel fermented.
