98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Deus-Ex Machina (60/40 Grenache and Mourvèdre) shows more classic Mourvèdre notes, with blackcurrants, Asian spices, crushed violets, cured meats, and graphite all giving way to a power packed, opulent, hedonistic 2017 that does everything right. Incredible depth of fruit, building tannins, no hard edges, and a finish to die for are all part of the package." (08/2019) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With its more discreet oak and layers of complexity, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Deus Ex Ma...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Another magical wine from this estate is the 2019 Côte à Côte, a blend of 34% each of Grenache and Mourvèdre, with the balance Syrah. Brought up in 29% new French oak, it boasts a dense purple color as well as incredible aromatics of blue fruits, smoked game, violets, black pepper, and spring flowers. One of those incredibly complex, nuanced wines that still brings depth and richness on the palate, it’s perfectly balanced, has ultra-fine tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It’s the finest vintage of Côte à Côte ever produced. Drink i...

97 points Decanter: "According to François Perrin this was the perfect year, with rain at the perfect time and an Indian summer in September. This is so graceful, with blackberry aromas and black olive notes. It’s fleshy and expressive, with no lack of grip and tension. The fruit profile on the palate mirrors that on the nose. This masterpiece is vivid and harmonious with a chalky acidity and remarkable length. One to forget in the cellar for at least two decades. (CG)" (11/2017) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "The 2010 Beaucastel is a tour de force, brill...

2019 Roger Sabon "Le Secret des Sabon" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The tiny production 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Secret Des Sabon is a field blend of mostly Grenache brought up all in wooden tronconique barrels. It's closest in style to the Prestige Cuvée yet brings another level of opulence and richness without losing any sense of elegance or class. Blackberries, peppery herbs, graphite, crushed violets, and a liquid rock-like minerality all define the nose, and it hits the palate with incredible depth of fruit, full-bodied richness, and ripe yet building tannins. While the acidity is technic...

1995 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
95 points Wine Spectator: "Very youthful, with a ripe core of red currant and raspberry fruit and licorice flavor surrounded by creamy tannins. Plenty of smoke, mineral and tobacco notes chiming in, but this still has a ways to go, with plenty of grip still on the finish. (JM)" (03/2006) 94 points Decanter: "The 1995 vintage was hot and dry, with good weather through to the end of the harvest. It's matured beautifully with 22 years now under its belt. It has a highly spiced nose of star anise, incense, raspberry and poached strawberry. It's beginning t...

2016 Château de Vaudieu "Amiral G" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Amiral G. is based all on Grenache and comes from a single plot of very old Grenache vines (all rolled stone soils) that was destemmed and brought up in demi-muids. Just screaming "Grenache!" at the top of its lungs with its sweet bouquet of black raspberries, candied violets, baking spices, and crushed rock-like minerality, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and density, a weightless texture, no hard edges, and awesome length. It's a sensational, borderline perfect wine that has eve...

2019 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Marcoux's 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is full-bodied, dense and tannic. Hints of crushed stone and dried garrigue appear on the nose, alongside blackberries and black cherries. It's basically pure foudre-aged Grenache from two lieux-dits—Charbonnières and les Esquierons—although the old vines undoubtedly include the odd interplanted variety. This terrific wine finishes long and silky, with layers of unfolding fruit and spice, including a dash of salted licorice. Tasted twice (once blind), with consis...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2009 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape had just been bottled at the time of the tasting but you wouldn’t know it by tasting it. A blend of 30% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and 20% assorted varieties, the wine delivers a superb aromatic display of kirsch and black cherry-like fruits to go with a solid dose of underlying meat, truffle, earth, and leather. Full-bodied and gorgeously concentrated through the middle, with fleshy, ripe fruit, good acidity, and an abundance of structure, this will ideally...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Also pure perfection in a glass, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Deus-Ex Machina is a 60/40 split of Grenache and Mourvèdre, from tiny yields and the famed La Crau lieu-dit, that’s raised in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids. My notes on this wine were loaded with expletives and finishes with “awesome, just awesome.” Blackcurrants, kirsch liqueur, licorice, spiced meat, and Provençal garrigue all define this incredible achievement, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, remarkable purity, building, silky tannins, and...
Price: $149.99

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Including slightly more Mourvèdre and from a cooler, higher elevation terroir, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Hauts-Lieux has more cassis, game, peppery herbs, and olive notes, as well as the classic violets and black licorice nuances that always seem to be present in the wines from this estate. *2020 Wine of the Year*" (10/2020) 95 points Vinous: "Cherry, blackberry, pungent flowers, allspice and garrigue on the assertively perfumed nose. Sappy and broad on entry, offering appealingly sweet red and dark berry flavors that tig...

2019 Domaine Pierre Usseglio "Réserve des Deux Frères" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "While the 2020 will include a splash of Syrah, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Réserve Des Deux Frères is its normal 100% Grenache and is a selection made in the cellar. In 2019, it ended up being roughly 30% new oak, and I think there were some stems included as well. It’s another magical wine from this estate, boasting a dense purple hue as well as a perfume of black raspberries, cassis, blueberry liqueur, spring flowers, toasted bread, and lavender. Full-bodied on the palate, with an incredible mouthfeel, riveting purity, and ult...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Even better (as well as a perfect wine), the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Collection Charles Giraud checks in as a nominal blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre that was brought up in demi-muids. It reveals a deep purple color as well as heavenly notes of blackberry and currant fruits intermixed with loads of cured meats, spice box, Asian spices, and a distinct loamy soil and minerality. Always more structured and powerful than the Reserve Auguste Favier release (no doubt due to the Mourvèdre component), it hits the palate with ful...

2018 Delas Frères "Ligne de Crête - Les Grandes Vignes" Hermitage (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While I've had multiple looks at previous vintages, this is my first review of the 2018 Hermitage Ligne de Crête Les Grandes Vignes. Inky in hue, it boasts powerful, brooding aromas that include hints of hardwood charcoal, dark berries, licorice, crushed stone and pencil shavings. Full-bodied and almost painfully intense, it's a huge, mouthfilling wine that seems capable of aging up to three decades. Rich, supple and creamy in texture, yet possessing remarkable length and retronasal nuance, it has to rank up ther...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Possibly the wine of the vintage and a mind blowing Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 2010 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve is off the charts and delivers a vivid, complex, and detailed bouquet of sappy flowers, violets, licorice, black currants, and smoked earth-like qualities on the nose. Full-bodied and perfectly put together on the palate, this powerful, elegant Châteauneuf-du-Pape has incredible richness and depth, yet stays light, ethereal, and weightless in the mouth." 98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Deep ruby-colored and offering a heavenly bouquet of black raspberries, toasted spiced, cured meats, licorice, and cured meats, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Combes des Fous is awesome on the palate, with a silky, seamless profile that just keeps on going. Possessing ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges, and a huge finish, it’s a phenomenal bottle of wine. The fact that it was bottled just one month ago makes this showing even more impressive." (08/2018) 96 points Vinous: "Saturated ruby. An exotically perfumed, highly complex bouque...

2019 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne "Les Hauts Lieux" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Hauts-Lieux includes slightly more Mourvèdre and comes from a cooler parcel in the northern part of the appellation. It has another level of purity and precision compared to the Trois Sources and has extraordinary notes of blueberries, cassis, black licorice, violets, and crushed stone-like minerality. Incredibly concentrated, massive, and yet perfectly balanced, it has no hard edges and is just an incredible tasting experience. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 20-25 years. 9...

2009 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Showing spectacularly well and a brilliant vintage for this cuvée, the 2009 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chaupin is a textbook Grenache that has an almost cool climate feel in its fresh, delineated aromas of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, mineral, and freshly snipped flowers. While a small portion of the blend is aged in new demi-muids (30% and in ¼ new barrique), you would not know it by tasting it as the wine presents a beautifully pure, classic profile on both the nose and palate. Full-bodied and concentr...
Price: $109.99

98 points Wine Spectator: "Really tight now, but packed with dark fig, currant, espresso, licorice and chocolate notes. Superfleshy but seriously structured, there's layer after layer of sweet spice, fruit and minerality pumping through the finish, with lots of latent depth and power. Far more backward than the 2003 or 2004 on release, but since this red typically puts on weight as it ages, it should be a monster--à la the 1990--when it reaches its peak. Best from 2009 through 2030. *Wine Spectator #1 Wine of the Year, 2007* (JM)" (12/2007) 96 points J...
Price: $159.99

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that might rival the 2001 when all is said and done, the 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée de La Reine des Bois is an incredible effort that does everything right. Possessing a voluptuous, decadent and super-rich profile, it stays graceful and perfectly balanced, with beautiful freshness, a stacked mid-palate and a blockbuster finish. Opening up in the glass, with copious blackberry, cassis, graphite, violets and spring flower-like nuances, it needs another 2-3 years of bottle age, and will have upward of thr...

2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
97 points Decanter: "Soft and juicy with flattering, bright red fruits. The alcohol is showing through just a little bit but it's countered by precise acidity. Starting to show really nicely when tasted in 2019, taking on cedar and tobacco leaf. This is a happy, juicy style, full of life - flamboyant but stylish. (MW)" (10/2019) 97 points Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with a gorgeous cassis aroma that soars from the glass, reinforced by a core of cassis, cherry and plum pâte de fruit, hoisin sauce, warm ganache and well-roasted apple wood notes. Hefty, b...

2019 Domaine Saint Préfert "Charles Giraud" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Collection Charles Giraud includes a big chunk of Mourvèdre and is 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre that was partially destemmed and brought up in demi-muids. If offers a deep ruby/plum color as well as a rich, savory, complex bouquet of black raspberries, cassis, toasted spice, cured meats, and graphite. The Mourvèdre really shows in this beauty, and it's full-bodied, concentrated, and structured, yet never loses its seamless, flawlessly balanced profile. These will be the last wines under the Domaine S...

2019 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne "Réserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Reserve is another magical wine, and I might have rated this cuvée a perfect score more than any other Southern Rhône. Unquestionably in the same realm as the 2017, 2016, 2010, 2005, 2003, and 2001, it has an incredible, full-bodied, massive style that somehow stays perfectly balanced, with flawless integration of its fruit, tannins, acidity, and alcohol. Lots of red, blue, and black fruits, loamy earth, Asian spice, licorice, and violet nuances emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate wi...
Price: $339.99

97-99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the flagship 2019 Cornas Les Vieilles Fontaines is a tiny selection from a single parcel of old vines that’s still resting in barrel (about 15-20% new). It brings more opulence and decadence in both its aromas and flavors, offering a monster array of mulled black fruits, smoked game, licorice, ground pepper, leather, and bouquet garni. Young and primordial, this full-bodied, concentrated, blockbuster styled Cornas has building tannins, a round, expansive mid-palate, and one incredible finish. It's going to take a decade...
Price: $139.99

98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Just about perfection in a glass, the 2017 Gigondas Le Claux got a few expletives in my notes. Made from 100% Grenache from a loamy, limestone parcel that’s a stone’s throw from the estate, just outside the village, it boasts a deep purple color as well as stunning notes of kirsch, cassis, camphor, dried earth, ground pepper, and background oak. Deep, powerful, full-bodied and multi-dimensional on the palate, this blockbuster Gigondas is going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age (or more) and cruise for two decades in cool cel...

2019 Clos Saint-Jean "Combe des Fous" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting off a trio of truly magical wines, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Combe Des Fous checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and the rest Vaccarèse and Cinsault raised in tank and demi-muids. Sensationally pure cassis and blackberry fruits as well as complex notes of lavender, Provençal garrigue, ground pepper, and flowers all define this full-bodied 2019, which displays the vintage’s ripe, perfumed style while bringing more finesse, elegant, and purity than just about every other wine out there. It’s the finest vintage of th...

2019 Domaine Isabelle Ferrando "Colombis" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Colombis comes from more sandy soils and is all Grenache raised in demi-muids. Wild strawberries, cherries, flowery incense, lavender, and loamy earth all make an appearance, and it's full-bodied, has a deep layered texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's another wine that needs a few years of bottle age, but it will deliver the goods over the following 15+. This is Grenache at its most elegant and seamless. Going forward, Domaine Isabel Ferrando will now include all the grapes that previously...

99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "On another level, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Secret Des Sabon is stacked and packed and ranks with the top 2-3 wines in this great vintage. A huge nose of blackcurrants, melted licorice, graphite, garrigue and pepper gives way to an uber-full-bodied, concentrated, massively endowed wine that has an insane level of opulence and decadent, sweet tannins, and a huge finish. This is a tour de force in wine that readers need to taste to believe. Given its wealth of fruit and texture, it’s already approachable, yet a solid 4-5 years...

2018 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
95 points Decanter: "A tight and compelling tannic structure, muscular and knitted down at this stage, rich and concentrated with blackberries and olive paste. Needs a few years, but already you can discern the floral aromatics that overlay the core, and this is going to evolve into a beautiful Beaucastel. (JA)" (08/2020) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At the moment, Beaucastel's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape bucks the vintage trend toward open, expressive wines, seeming a bit closed on the nose and tight on the palate. It also shows a bit more d...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminiscent of a lighter weight 2009, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up a sweet bouquet of spiced black cherries, plum, truffle, saddle leather and underbrush. Coming from tiny yields (which were down 50% from 2010), this medium to full-bodied 2011 is gorgeously textured and has solid mid-palate depth, terrific purity of fruit and ripe tannin. Relatively approachable and enjoyable even now, it should nevertheless evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. Drink 2015-2031. Covering a full 175 acres in Chateauneuf d...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always the most elegant of the single vineyard releases, the 2006 Gigondas Le Poste is almost all Grenache and comes from a steep, terraced vineyard located just beside the estate. Reminding me of a beautifully mature red Burgundy with its sweet cherry and currants fruits, spice-box, forest floor, camphor and dried flowers, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, silky tannin, a great mid-palate and no shortage of length on the finish. Pure class all the way, enjoy this beauty anytime over the com...
Price: $119.99

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape L'Avenue is all Grenache sourced from a single parcel near the estate and aged 18 months in demi-muids. This deeply colored beauty boasts a huge perfume of black raspberries, blackberries, dried flowers, bouquet garni, and sandy/loamy soil notes. With a powerful, concentrated, structured style, incredible purity of fruit, and tons of tannin on the finish, hide bottles for 3-5 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following decade or more. (JD) 97+" (08/2018) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Bake...

95-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A classic wine from this terroir, the 2018 Côte Rôtie La Landonne has a powerful, smoky, minerality style as well as rocking cassis and black raspberry fruit, full body, the plush, sexy, opulence of the vintage, and a great finish. It has a wealth of fruit yet stays balanced and pure. This is a gorgeous wine in the making." (12/2019) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark-hued 2018 Cote Rotie La Landonne remains one of the stars of the Delas stable. Hints of thyme and sage appear on the nose alongside deep mocha s...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Basically all Grenache from a single parcel of sandy soils in the center of this hallowed appellation, the 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenaches de Pierre is an otherworldly wine that offers incredible power and richness as well as sensational purity and elegance. Black cherries, cassis, spring flowers, violets, and garrigue all emerge from the glass, and it’s heavenly on the palate as well, with full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannin, a stacked mid-palate, and a huge finish. It’s a tour de force in wine and hats off to Marie Girau...
Price: $249.99

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Conservatively, the 2009 Ermitage l’Ermite (702 cases) needs 25-30 years of cellaring. Another monumental effort from Michel Chapoutier, it possesses copious notes of smoky asphalt, black truffles, pen ink, graphite and blackberry liqueur intermixed with hints of flowers and crushed rocks. Extremely full-bodied with abundant sweet tannins, amazing penetration on the palate and a long finish, this historic effort should age effortlessly for 50-100+ years. (RP) 98+" (12/2011) 98 points Wine Spectator: "This has a...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More soft and straightforward, the 1997 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reserve offers pretty rose petal, garrigue, lavender and underbrush to go with a medium-bodied, supple and evolved profile. It needs consuming in the next couple years. (JD)" (08/2014) K&L Notes: John Livingstone Learmonth The Cradle of the Rhone: "nice density on the nose, mixes quite powerful garrigue aromas with cooked black fruits, traces of alcohol here, too. Beyond there lie violet and ripened black fruit aromas, plums. The palate carries a lot of po...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine, the 2009 Ermitage Le Pavillon (1,093 cases) boasts a black/purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of acacia flowers, blackberries, blueberries, roasted meats, creme de cassis, truffles, graphite, powdered rock and new saddle leather. Extremely dense, noble and pure, this monumental Ermitage is built for 50-100 years of cellaring. " (12/2011) 97 points Wine Spectator: "This has a very alluring ganache edge, which melds nicely into the core of crushed plum, blackberry and currant notes....
Price: $399.99

98-100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Still aging in demi-muids (the blend was made and moved to demi-muids when the other single vineyards were bottled), the 2017 Côte Rôtie Belle Hélène reveals a deep purple color as well as a huge, powerful full-bodied style that's just begging for a decade of cellaring. This classic effort comes from the Côte Rozier and La Landonne lieux-dits and offers serious meatiness and masculine characteristics as well as ample black fruits, smoked earth, graphite, and toasted spice. It's a brilliant wine in the making, but not for those...

97 points Wine Spectator: "Intense, with a Turkish coffee note out front before the core of steeped plum, black cherry and fig fruit starts to unfurl, while extra hints of singed alder, garrigue and warm earth develop, adding length and range on the finish. Delivers muscular power and perfumed grace that work together perfectly. (JM)" (10/2020) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Boasting the darkest fruit of the three 2018s from Saint-Préfert, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Collection Charles Giraud delivers notes of black cherries and dark chocol...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Getting more than one exclamation in the notes, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de Mon Aïeul is a deep, rich yet vibrant red that offers a kaleidoscope of kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers, Asian spices, and cured meats. It's more opulent and sexier than the 2010, fresher and purer than the 2007, has deep, full-bodied aromas and flavors, and a huge finish. It's a sensational, heavenly Châteauneuf-du-Pape that tops out my scale. This cuvée is 100% Grenache that was not destemmed and was aged in 20% demi-muids and the ba...

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Château Rayas "Pignan Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Sappy, liqueur-like aromas of raspberry, red cherry and pepper, lifted by a floral quality. Lush, suave and mouthfilling, with wonderfully sweet flavors of peppery red fruits and iron. A faint porty quality contributes to its complexity. Finishes fruity and very long, with fine tannins and late notes of pepper and strawberry jam. (ST)" (01/2001)
Starting Bid: $298.99

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 96JS, 96RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. (RP)" (02/2004)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" Chateauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 99JD, 99RP, 97WS, 96ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Shockingly good, the 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage À Jacques Perrin offers an off-the-charts bouquet of Provençal herbs, truffle and wet-dog-like qualities intermixed with classic blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit. Massive and full-bodied on the palate, with a sheer density and decadence that’s hard to believe, this is a pedal-to-the-metal effort that has the fruit to drink beautifully today, yet the concentration, mid-palate, tannin and balance to age for 3-4 decades. Made from a blend of 60% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah and the rest Counoise and Grenache, this is one of the wines of the vintage. (JD)" (02/2015)
Starting Bid: $825.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Clos du Caillou "Reserve les Clos du Caillou" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The largest scaled and most concentrated in the lineup is easily the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve, which is 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised all in demi-muids. Just a flat out sensational bottle of wine, it offers tons of black currants, licorice, roasted meats and toasted spice aromas and flavors in a full-bodied, seamless, perfectly balanced style that’s drunk well since release. It’s great today, but has another decade or more of longevity. (JD)" (02/2017)
Starting Bid: $540.00

Bid on this bottle of 2019 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (99JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The more Syrah-dominated 2019 Broken Stones (60% Syrah, 20% Graciano, 11% Mourvèdre, and the rest Grenache and Carignan) sports a deep purple hue as well as incredible black fruits and notes of ground pepper, smoked game, scorched earth, and truffle. It’s another pure, blockbuster styled wine from this estate that has some early charm yet the class to evolve for 15 years of more." (09/2021)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (99JD, 98VN, 97RP, 97WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Showing better from bottle than barrel (always a good sign), the 2018 James Berry Vineyard is another stunning wine in a long line of stunning wines from this estate. Based on 64% Grenache, 16% Mataro, 14% Syrah, and the rest Carignan, incredible notes of blueberries, wild strawberries, licorice, new leather, herbes de Provence, and candied violets all emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with an incredible sense of purity and elegance, flawless balance, and a huge finish. It has some early appeal yet is going to be best with 2-4 years of bottle age and will still be drinking beautifully at age 20." (09/2020)
Starting Bid: $185.00

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Henri Bonneau "Cuvée Spéciale" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97JD, 96JG, 96RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "The late harvest, 16.5% alcohol (w/ 3 grams residual sugar) 1990 Henri Bonneau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Spéciale shows fantastic, Amarone like aromatics of grilled meat, blood, roasted herbs, liquefied stems and leather nuances all supported by borderline overripe plum and prune fruit. Full bodied on the palate with stunning balance, decadent fruit and a seamless texture, this picks up a chocolaty richness on the blockbuster finish. The alcohol is certainly noticeable on the tail end of the finish but this remains an absolutely stunning, unique bottle of wine!" (04/2009)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Willow Creek District Rhône Blend (100JD, 97WS, 96RP, 96VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the greatest GSM blends to ever come out of California is the 2016 James Berry Vineyard, which is 55% Grenache, 24% Mourvèdre, 13% Syrah, and 8% Counoise. This sensational wine reminds me of the 2016 Mon Aïeul from Pierre Usseglio with its awesome perfume of sweet blackberry and cassis fruits, smoke meats, exotic spice, licorice, and garrigue-like aromas and flavors. Deep, rich and layered on the palate, with a massive core of sweet fruit, this beauty builds with time in the glass and has incredible purity of fruit, a mix of richness and elegance that's hard to describe, sweet tannins, and a huge finish. It's every bit as impressive as the 2007 was on release. Hats off to Justin Smith for this incredible wine! I finished my note with 'the greatest GSM blend from California, ever.'" (11/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Pegau "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deeper, richer version of the Cuvee Reservee, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo is one of the more youthful, concentrated wines of the vintage. Coming primarily from the la Crau lieu-dit and over 90% Grenache, aged in an old foudre, its deep ruby color is followed by a bonafide smorgasbord of Provencal aromas and flavors of garrigue, cured meats, incense, beef blood, black currants and pepper. While a full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, rich and unctuous wine, it carries its wealth of fruit and mid-palate density with incredible elegance and purity, with a seamless texture, no hard edges and a finish that won't quit. The 2007 is more elegant and seamless than both the 1998 and 2003, with an incredible sweetness of tannin. (JD)" (02/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 100DC, 100JD, 97ST) in original wood. Jeb Dunnuck: "Another perfect wine from this family is the 2010 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage A Jacques Perrin, an incredibly concentrated, powerful, backward wine that’s just now starting to shed its baby fat and tannins. Massive notes of black and blue fruits, black truffle, ground pepper, and a beautiful sense of minerality all flow to a full-bodied, deep, awesome wine that has a huge mid-palate, riveting purity of fruit, and a finish that won’t quit."
