2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Back In Stock!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvèdre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvèdre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure a...

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Saxum "Rocket Block James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (100JD, 98VN, 97RP, 94WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Another perfect wine is the 2016 James Berry Vineyard Rocket Block, which always comes from a single block of the oldest Grenache vines in the James Berry Vineyard as well as around one-third of Mourvèdre. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by incredibly complex notes of black fruits, chocolate, cured meats, flowery incense, and assorted spicy, meaty, Mourvèdre-dominated nuances. Full-bodied, voluptuous, and perfectly balanced, with that rare sense of intensity paired with elegance, it has some upfront appeal, but do your best to give bottles 2-4 years of bottle age." Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2017 The Third Twin (Sine Qua Non) "Nuestra Señora del Tercer Gemelo" Central Coast Red Blend (98JD, 98RP, (94-96VN)) and 1-bottle of 2017 The Third Twin (Sine Qua Non) Central Coast Graciano (98JD, 98VN, 97RP). Of the 2017 The Third Twin (Sine Qua Non) "Nuestra Señora del Tercer Gemelo" Central Coast Red Blend, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This is the second edition of this single-vineyard cuvée from The Third Twin estate in Los Alamos, as a follow-up to last year’s “Nuestra Senora Del Tercer Gemelo, ” but this time the core of the blend is Grenache as opposed to Mourvèdre. Due to a possible trademark dispute, this wine may get a name change prior to release, potentially to be called, “The Other Lady.” (LPB)" (08/2020)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It offers up gorgeous notes of black raspberries, cherries, cassis, ground herbs and flowers. This beauty hits the palate with incredible purity, fine tannin and an overriding sense of elegance and finesse, backed up by full-bodied richness and depth. (JD)" (08/2016)
Starting Bid: $118.00

Bid on this magnum of 2018 Saxum "Rocket Block - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Willow Creek District Rhône Blend (1.5L) (100JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "Leading off the 2018s from bottle, the perfect 2018 Rocket Block is mostly Grenache but includes 13% Mourvèdre and 11% Syrah, aged 29-30 months in mostly 300-liter barrels, plenty being new, although you wouldn’t know that by tasting this elixir. As good as any Châteauneuf du Pape or Grenache-based wine out there, it offers a brilliant array of sweet kirsch and blackberry fruits as well as white pepper, garrigue, and sandalwood. Full-bodied, ultra-pure, flawlessly balanced, and one of those wines that brings sensational richness and intensity while at the same time staying weightless and elegant, it should deliver the goods any time over the coming 15+ years." (09/2021)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Andremily "Eaba" Edna Valley Rhône Blend (97JD, 95RP, 95VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Eaba is another wine from Jim that puts its foot firmly on the ripeness pedal and offers a blockbuster-like style of ripe black fruits, wood smoke, cured meats, and peppery goodness. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it’s flawlessly balanced, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 10-12 years or so. The 2018 is 59% Syrah, 23% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, and the rest Viognier, aged 22 months in 50% new French oak." (08/2021)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Relic "Ritual" Napa Valley Red (94WS). Wine Spectator: "Well-built, stylish and loaded with personality. Aromas of smoky pepper beef lead to complex, appealingly gamy flavors of boysenberry, grilled herb and espresso. The tannins are big but ripe on the finish. Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah, Carignane and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2027 (TF)." (03/2017)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (99JD, 97VN, 96RP, 95WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "I was able to taste the 2017 James Berry Vineyard beside the perfect 2016 and there’s not much difference between these two sensational wines. The 2017 reveals a deep ruby color as well as more straight, focused, yet beautifully concentrated style that reveals gorgeous black raspberry and blackberry fruits interwoven with pepper, spring flowers, earth, and incense. Pure, full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, and an incredible wine any way you look at it, give bottles 2-3 years and it’s going to evolve effortlessly for 15-20 years." (11/2019)
