92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This intense, full-bodied wine is full of baked-apple and cooked-pear flavors. There is certainly acidity here, but it is integrated in the wine's ripeness and weight. The perfumed, nutty aftertaste is as full as the rest of this rich wine. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (10/2019) K&L Notes: Established over 50 years ago, the 4th generation of the Denis family now runs this operation. Julien is the winemaker, Stephane in charge of the viticulture and Vincent oversees the administration and sales. Over the last decades the property...

All the wines at this beautiful little organic domaine are made from 100% Chenin Blanc but vary in degrees of sweetness depending on where the grapes are harvested from. Planted in the sandy clay soils over tuffeau (that magical chalky soil of the Loire), these wines show the range of the quality that can be found in Vouvray for a mere pittance.

2019 Domaine Huët "Le Haut-Lieu" Vouvray Sec
Back In Stock!
95 points John Gilman: "Domaine Huët has only produced four cuvées in 2019, as the vintage has produced such perfect raw materials for making Sec that Cellar Master Jean-Bernard Bartholomé decided to focus almost exclusively on this level, with only a little bit of Demi-Sec produced out of the Le Mont vineyard. This is also the final vintage at the domaine for Monsieur Bartholomé, as he is retiring. The 2019 Le Haut Lieu Sec comes in at an even thirteen percent octane, which coupled to excellent acidity, is likely to make this wine last a hundred years. ...

Sourced from across the broad Western Cape region of South Africa, Radley & Finch offers this Chenin Blanc at an attractive entry-level price. Grapes were sourced from both bush vines and trellised vines primarily in the Agter Paarl and Swartland regions. Winemaker Thinus Kruger primarily utilized indigenous yeasts in a particularly slow fermentation to develop complexity. The result is a citrusy and yellow-fruited profile with hints of spice and grain. It is ready to drink right now, but will fill out and add complexity for a couple of years.

This is 100% Chenin Blanc from hillside parcels ranging from 15-25 years old just outside the actual village of Vouvray. While this has just a hint of residual sugar, there is ample acidity and varietal character to balance out the faint sweetness. A fantastic and affordable Chenin Blanch from Vouvray!

2019 Domaine Huët "Le Mont" Vouvray Demi-Sec
Back In Stock!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Vouvray Le Mont Demi-Sec is clear, fresh, deep and complex yet pure, fine, elegant and perfectly interwoven on the nose, where notes of crushed flint stones, limestones and concentrated citrus fruit aromas and even iodine notes are revealed. Very elegant and refined on the palate, this is a round, juicy, seductively fruity yet firmly structured and piquant Le Mont whose sweetness is captured by fine tannins and a sustainably dense, vital and salty finish. The 2019 Demi-Sec is a great Chenin and the finer...

2019 Domaine Huet "Le Mont" Vouvray Sec
Back In Stock!
95 points John Gilman: "The 2019 Le Mont Sec from Domaine Huët is a touch riper than the Le Haut Lieu bottling, coming in at 13.5 percent, but still utterly classical in all respects. The beautifully refined and still quite youthful nose jumps from the glass in a blend of quince, green apple, beeswax, a kaleidoscopic bath of limestone minerality, a touch of orange peel, lanolin and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and utterly seamless, with again, stunning mid-palate depth and mineral drive, brisk acids and a very l...

Wine Spectator: "The bright quince, creamed pear and makrut lime notes are well-integrated, with a gentle, brioche-framed finish. (JM)" (11/2013)
