Escubac Sweetdram is a spirited revival of a defunct liqueur style from the 1700s, reimagined it for modern drinkers. The result is a drier, more relevant aperitif that can sipped like a nice whisky, mixed with tonic, or poured as a base in cocktails. The proprietary Escubac recipe took over 18 months to design and balance at the Sweetdram workshop in East London. From a 72 hour maceration of 14 botanicals, including caraway, cardamom, nutmeg and citrus, the resulting formula is slowly distilled on the antique stills at Distillerie Combier in France. The...

A spectacular cherry liqueur, albeit with no sugar added! This handcrafted product comes from the farm of Patti and Dominique Azpeitia in Stockton, CA. With 1,200 acres of cherry and walnut trees and the desire to do something extraordinary with their produce, the Azpeitias set out to make a one-of-a-kind spirited beverage with no additives of any kind. They juice Bing cherries from their estate, ferment it on site, and transport the juice to be distilled into eau-de-vie by Stillwater in Petaluma. The EDV is then added back to 100% cherry juice for a bea...

Blessed with one of the most biodiverse locations on earth, Inverroche has crafted some of the most exceptional gins on the planet. Continuing in that tradition, they've also created some truly unique and exquisite liqueurs. The first to come to the United States is Botanique. Made from 3 year old pot still brandy and representing all 3 fynbos biomes showcased in the core gin lineup, this also has a good dose of Cape Citrus. The elixir is then mellowed in oak and sweetened with cape agave nectar. From the distillery: "A complex, aromatic elixir with a d...

Another exemplary effort from Tempus Fugit. Nothing on the market comes close to the amazing and authentic flavors exhibited here. Even the high-end French producers settle for using mint extracts rather than fresh mint, but Tempus refuses to compromise. This has fresh spearmint and peppermint as well as a host of botanicals to provide depth. Distilled from winter wheat to 193 proof, then macerated with the herbs for supreme concentration.

From the distributor: While Jean-Marc's white wines tend to get most of the spotlight, there are other delicious contributions that merit attention. The Roulots have been making spirits since 1866 and Jean-Marc's father had a particular love for the process of making fruit eau de vie. “Distillers from father to son since 1866, we continue to be, to this day, owners of a family still with which we produce Marc and Fine Bourgogne offered annually by domaine Roulot alongside our range of wines...” - Jean-Marc Roulot “I wanted to develop this activity by ext...

The pride of downtown Edinburgh is now the joy of the K&L gin department. Once contracted from London, today the complete line of Edinburgh gin is distilled either underground at the eponymous Edinburgh Gin Distillery, or at their recently opened second distillery at The Biscuit Factory in the historic port of Leith. Focusing entirely on gin, the company recently merged with Ian Macleod of Tamdhu, Glengoyne, and Chieftain's fame to resurrect Scotland's great distillation traditions. From the producer: "Perthshire is celebrated for producing the most flav...

Monastery brew houses and elixir distillers from different religious orders have been in existence all over Europe since the early Middle-Ages. The Cistercians, Benedictines, and Trappists were part of a network of religious houses which exchanged ideas and procedures but also kept a few secrets. Beyond being a place of worship and contemplation, Monastic gardens provided food and medicinal plants to monks and their guests. After careful reading of ancient monastic texts, Vicario crafted this maceration of over 15 aromatic herbs and spices and named it...

Renato Vicario and Janette Wesley own and operate 2 organic and sustainable farms on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, in his native Piedmont and her native South Carolina. The spirits are crafted and sourced only from grains and fruits that are not genetically modified (no GMO company policy) and do not use any chemical additives or flavors. In fact, many of the fruits, herbs, and spices used to create Vicario’s liqueurs are grown on their own farms. Vicario and Wesley named their Italian farm “The Garden of Earthly Delights,” which is reflected in the ...
