This Champagne is made entirely from selected grand cru estate fruit from the village of Mesnil. It is fermented and aged in 600-liter new-oak casks before being bottled and aged four years on the lees. It has a super rich nose of vanilla, sourdough toast, and Mesnil minerals. In the mouth it's very racy and dry, not nearly as broad as the rich nose suggests. I think this is one of the ultimate lobster Champagnes in our stock, and will repay five years of cellaring with a gorgeous drink. If you love Selosse's Origine and Tarlant's Cuvée Louis, this is on...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "From an Aisne-based producer, this bone-dry Champagne also has plenty of richness that shows though in the ripe texture of the Pinot Noir. (RV)" (12/2021) 91 points James Suckling: "Intense nose of toast, dried pineapple, lemon rind, walnut, cocoa bean and Virginia tobacco. Medium-bodied with sharp acidity and soft bubbles. Mineral, austere and toasty character. Bone dry. Ariston Aspasie "Réserve" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
Don't let the name change fool you, this is the same great Champagne that used to be called "Carte Blanche". The Ariston Aspasie reserve is made of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Meunier. A balanced cuvée in every way, this Champagne is clean and powerful at once. It has a natural toasty quality from spending five full years on the lees, and plenty of refreshing zip from the far northern location of the vineyards. No bottle in our inventory transports me to Champagne like this one. It is as true to the terroir and as pure as anything I could wis...

Pierre Mineral Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
This balanced, elegant Champagne is composed of 30% Chardonnay, 60% Pinot Noir and 10% Meunier. The grapes are all from the Gonet family's estate, spread from the southernmost 1er cru of Vertus to the valley of the Marne. It is a gorgeous wine to toast with: bready, vibrant and flavorful. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

This all estate grown Champagne is 100% Chardonnay blended from the greatest terroirs of the region; 1/2 from Mesnil Grand Cru, 1/2 from Montgeux. 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A blend from different vineyards across the Côte de Sézanne, this wine offers warm white fruits and white-peach richness. The mineral edge of Chardonnay cuts through the wine, balancing the ripeness. (RV)" (12/2021) K&L Notes: From the little village of Bethon, the Le Brun de Neuville “Côte Blanche” Blanc de Blancs Champagne is one of the better deals we have had lately in the Champagne Club. Normally priced at $49.99, this all Chardonnay Champagne is based on 2014 with 30% reserves from older vintages. The Sézanne sub regio...

Jancis Robinson: "Deep bronze colour. Surely lots of oak here? Rich on the nose. Almost sweet, which makes the Extra Brut all the more remarkable. Pretty full-on mousse. This is almost more like a pale red burgundy that happens to have bubbles. It has a suggestion of Pinot Gris perfume about it too. Quite a statement! And not a silly price for the distinctive character it offers. A labor of love? *Good Value* (JR) 17/20 points" (06/2020) K&L Notes: I am incredibly excited about the extraordinary quality of this top grower's Champagne. The name might s...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a rich and full Chardonnay-based Champagne. It has a sunny disposition while not forgetting a more textured core. (RV)" (12/2021) 91 points James Suckling: "Dried apricots, lemon curd, pears, brioche, chalk and custard on the nose. Medium-bodied with sharp acidity and fine, focused bubbles. Excellent concentration and length with some saline and biscuit notes to close. Dry. 100% chardonnay. " (09/2021) K&L Notes: This unique, all Chardonnay Champagne comes from a nine-and-a-half acre single vineyard in Saacy-sur-Ma...

Paul Vincent Ariston says that his 25-year-old vines reflect the vintage, but the Prestige, made from vines averaging 60 years, reflect his terroir. It is composed of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Meunier. This was one of the best bottles from my last trip, and we drank two just to make sure! It has fantastic Brouillet black cherry power, and finishes very dry and super long. It is a powerhouse in the style of a vintage Bollinger, but with even more soul! Like almost all Champagne, this wine has relatively low alcohol, 12%. (Gary Westby, K&L Cha...

Laurent-Perrier "La Cuvée" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "The nonvintage cuvée from this producer is definitely on the dry side. Like many Champagnes in the range, it has benefited from long aging before release, giving a wine that has richness as well as great fruits, hints of maturity coming through. (RV)" (12/2020) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A crisp Champagne, with a fine, lacy mousse and a pretty, finely meshed range of flavors, showing hints of crushed cherry, toasted almond, fleur de sel and pink grapefruit pith, followed by a smoke-tinged finish. Pol Roger "Réserve" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
92 points James Suckling: "Very tangy and energetic with apple and lemon-curd aromas and flavors. Bright and exciting. Tight and full-bodied. Layered and solid. Dried fruit with an electric finish. Zingy is the word." (07/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The NV Brut Réserve, based on the 2012 vintage and disgorged after four years on the lees in July 2017, is very clear, precise and fresh on the nose, with bright fruit and delicate brioche notes. 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has always been one of my favorite sparkling wines from northeast Italy. The Sorelle Bronca NV Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Particella 68 Brut is a single-vineyard expression (from parcel 68). The wine boasts a beautiful and delicate bouquet with wild flowers, soft peach, white violets and honey. The quality of the bubbling is fine and laser sharp. You get excellent value here. 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Based on the 2014 vintage, complemented by fully 40% old reserve wines, the new release of Charles Heidsieck's NV Brut Réserve was disgorged earlier this year. It's showing very well, opening up in the glass with notes of green apple, dried white flowers, pear, candied peel and walnuts. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a textural attack and a racier, tighter-knit core than either the 2012- or 2010-base renditions, displaying good concentration and underlying richness. 92 points Decanter: "50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier from 100 villages in all, and including 30% reserves from 10 vintages back to 1995; a small proportion now being produced with malolactic. Black Label remains the confident barometer of Lanson, and Hervé Dantan’s first blend is a class act, a resounding statement of his talent in preserving the style and integrity of the house while meticulously polishing the edges. It’s a very important cuvée in the grand scheme of Champagne: one of the best and most consistent of the bargain set. (TS)"...

91 points Decanter: "Lifted reductive flintiness and whiff of smoulder on the nose. Heady notes of dried lemon peel on the palate with a freshness and phenolic edge, seems young but has complexity of cellaring. (Panel tasting)" (12/2020) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A well-balanced wine, this is poised between fresh fruits and a tangy texture. The dosage is just right, emphasizing the minerality of the wine while keeping a soft aftertaste. (RV)" (12/2018)

94 points Decanter: "The nose opens with the fresh ripeness of yellow apple and highlights of Granny Smith. It has beautifully subtle autolysis on the palate, deepening into notes of creamy apple crumble, Golden Delicious and Mirabelle plum, while remaining utterly strait-laced. Elegance, length and absolute freshness are inherent and quietly convincing. (AK)" (10/2020) 92 points James Suckling: "This is very fresh and has attractively flavorful, punchy fruit presence, in a very pure mode. Avinyo is small grower/producer of Cava. The Esteve family have been growing grapes in the Alt-Penedes region for generations. And started producing their own wines in the late '70's. They own 40ha of land and they only use organic practices in their vineyards. La Ticota is Avinyo’s oldest single vineyard. This is a wine that is only made in the best of vintages. La Ticota is a 2ha plot that was planted to Xarel-lo and Macabeu in 1945 in calcareous clay soils. This Gran Reserva is aged for over five years on its lees. *organic*

It is composed of a cépages of forty percent pinot meunier, thirty-five percent chardonnay and twenty-five percent pinot noir. Twenty percent of the blend is from the previous year of 2014. Stony, sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors show very good energy, turning juicier and deeper with air and picking up a melony quality and a hint of anise. Jancis Robinson: "A fraction more colour than La Cuvée. Smells of warm crème anglaise, brioche and peaches. Not awfully sweet tasting, considering all that residual sugar. Loosely woven. Biscuits and nectarines and late-harvest apples. Very appley and easy. But I'm not sure this is sweet enough for dessert. Possibly with fresh strawberries and a spoonful of mascarpone? (TC)" (06/2017) Wine & Spirits: "Scents of wild flowers introduce this clean, gently sweet Champagne. Its bright, juicy pear flavors fill out a fresh herbal edge of acidity, firm and fin...

The wine spent a minimum of two and a half years aging sur latte before its disgorgement in October of 2019, which would make its base year 2016.
