This super rare bottling is made with some of the nearly extinct, native grape varieties of Champagne. It is composed of 40% Petit Meslier, 40% Arbanne, and 20% Pinot Blanc. I think it is the best of the excellent Ariston portfolio. The nose has only hints of exoticism; the overall impression is of rich cream and toast, but underneath is a hint of pine and exotic white fruit from the old varieties. On the palate the Champagne makes for a double take: it is very rich and textural, but finishes with a laser beam of chalky acidity that just goes on and on. ...

94 points Wine Spectator: "This offers all the trim sleekness of a well-built racing sailboat, while the flavors unfurl on the palate like a full spinnaker sail. Macerated raspberry and poached apricot fruit is underscored by smoke and toast notes, and pleasing hints of crystallized honey, tangerine zest and dried thyme echo on the mouthwatering finish. (AN)" (10/2020) K&L Notes: From the oldest shipper of bubbly Champagne, this is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay entirely from grand and premier cru vineyards. About 18% of the Pinot is vini...

94 points James Suckling: "A dense and flavorful chardonnay with creamy texture and flavor. Lots of citrus and grapefruit and very vinous. A blanc de blancs with weight yet freshness. Pure chardonnay with no dosage. A new wine. Lovely finish. 40% 2009 and 60% 2012." (09/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new cuvée from Laurent-Perrier, the inaugural NV Blanc de Blancs Nature represents the first time this house, for all its emphasis on Chardonnay, has ever released a blanc de blancs. Offering up aromas of citrus fruit, green apple, oyste...

This is the same wine that is found in the normal Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, but wrapped in a completly sustainable, insulated cardboard wrap that looks like the inside of the chalk cellars of Ruinart.

We are very excited to offer a brand new wine from Rhys Vineyards. This is the first release of their estate grown sparkling wine which was made in colaboration with grower Champagne superstar, Rodolphe Peters of the esteemed Champagne Pierre Peters. The base wines for this bottling are 100% Chardonnay from Rhy's Mt. Pajaro Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The fruit for the sparkling wine program comes from an especially cold northwest facing block in the vineyard. The wines were fermented and aged in a combination of neutral 225L French oak barrels...

Bid on this bottle of Rhys Bearwallow Vineyard "Ultra Brut" Anderson Valley Sparkling Wine (93JG, 92VN). John Gilman: "The first release of Rhys Vineyards Ultra Brut from the Bearwallow Vineyard is composed of a blend of sixty-four percent chardonnay and thirty-six percent pinot noir. This wine is from the base year of 2017, with reserve wines from 2016 included, but the plan is to eventually include reserve wines from a solera started in 2016, so it will be based on several more vintages as time goes by. The cuvée’s name beginning with the base year 2019 will be changed to 'Reserve Perpetuelle' to reflect this, as that wine will include four vintages in it. The vins clairs went through malolactic fermentation, were barrel-fermented and were aged in cask until the June 21st of 2018 (all used casks), so the wine had a nice, extended elevage prior to bottling for secondary fermentation. It was disgorged on April 16th of 2020 and finished with a dosage of two grams per liter. " (10/2020)
