91 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Pungent aromas of candied red berries, incense and botanical herbs, with a suave floral note gaining strength with air. Juicy and precise, with seamless texture and very good depth to its spicy red and dark berry flavors. Finishes sappy and long, with echoing notes of red berries and flowers. (JR)" (11/2011)

93 points Wine Advocate: "First up and seriously perfumed, the 2011 Pinot Noir de Villiers is a gorgeous wine that excels both for its complexity and for its richness and breath on the palate. Giving up notes of ripe cherries, wild strawberries, exotic flowers, citron and spice, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a core of sweet fruit and a rich, seamless texture. In fact, it has a rare level of depth and texture in the vintage, and while beautiful today, I imagine it will evolve gracefully. (JD)" (08/2014) 90 points Vinous: "Bright red cherries, c...

This three-liter box is 100% Friulano (though it cannot be labeled as such because the DOC's laws do not recognize box wine, as of yet). I think there is no tastier, more versatile white wine in our store right now that beats this Bianco for value and pure drinkability. It combines the body, weight and richness of what California Chardonnay feels like with the minerality and freshness of how Pinot Grigio tastes, which just makes it the perfect cocktail white. It is ideal for keeping in the fridge (I've tasted them after they've been open for 6 months and...

The first thing that you will notice after you have brought this box of wine home with you is that it says Rioja nowhere on it. The appellation prohibits wine being packaged in the format to carry the name Rioja. This is 100% Viura that is grown in clay limestone soils in a vineyard that was planted in 1973. Fermented and aged for a short period of time in Stainless steel. This is a bright and vibrant wine with aromas and flavors of citrus, apples and pears. Crisp and dry, this is an ideal wine for this format. An uncomplicated refreshing wine.

The first thing that you will notice after you have brought this box of wine home with you is that it says Rioja nowhere on it. The appellation prohibits wine being packaged in the format to carry the name Rioja. This red wine is a blend of mostly Tempranillo, with tiny amounts of Garnacha, Graciano, and Viura. This is a youthful and fresh red that does not see any oak aging. Dark cherries and berries that are balanced with hints of spice. Medium bodied with just enough tannin to give it some structure. This is charming old-world red that delivers surpr...

100 points Wine Advocate: "Made of 100% Cabernet Franc from Beckstoffer's To Kalon vineyard, the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Franc Force de la Nature is a little closed to begin, emitting slowly releasing scents of rose hips, oolong tea, dried roses, red loam and pencil shavings over notions of kirsch, redcurrant jelly, crushed black berries and black raspberries plus a waft of chocolate box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is wonderfully elegant, giving beautifully fine-grained tannins and just enough freshness to lift the perfumed fr...

93 points Wine Advocate: "The dark ruby/plum-tinged 2003 Pinot Noir Finn displays a gorgeous bouquet of beet root, white flowers, forest floor, smoked meat, and herbs. A broad, complex, aromatic effort with big flavors, a juicy, concentrated mid-palate, and a long, heady finish, it is a stunning Pinot Noir... (RP)" (12/2005) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Pure and sumptuous, with a rich, detailed core of wild berry, raspberry, fresh earth, spice and a hint of strawberry. This is a complex, vibrant style supported by lively acidity. (JL)" (06/2006) 90 poi...

Courvoisier XO (750ml)
Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Showing bright topaz in the glass, this Cognac entices with rich, concentrated caramel and toffee aromas. Fleetingly sweet on the palate, vanilla, mocha and hazelnut lead into a rounded brown-sugar finish punctuated by clove and orange peel. This easy sipper would be welcome at any dessert table. Made with a blend of Cognacs aged 11–25 years. *Top 100 Spirits of 2017* (KN)" (12/2017)

According to the Wine Spectator: "A deep, dusky Bordeaux, with deep color, leathery, woody aromas, tart cherry and currant flavors and lots of firm but fine tannins. It all comes together in a tannic style that's drinkable now, but could keep improving through 1998." (04/91)

100 points James Suckling: "Rose petals, sandalwood and currants with some plums and fruit tea. Full-bodied, tight and focused. Incredibly straight and minerally. Toned muscles here. Tannic. Traditional and unwavering." (02/2018) 98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More opulent, sexy and concentrated, the 2015 La Mission Haut Brion is a tour de force that has everything you could want from Bordeaux. A huge nose of smoke tobacco, gravelly earth, graphite, cassis, and blackcurrants gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, perfectly balanced beauty that has incredib...

95 points Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Selleck Vineyard is off the hook. Coming from a warmer, south-facing plot of vines, it offers up a knockout bouquet of black raspberry, liquid flowers, crushed stone and new leather to go with a dense, concentrated, yet sexy and hedonistically slanted palate that's grounded by a core of sweet fruit. Count me a fan. This beauty should be given a handful of years in the cellar and then consumed over the following decade or more. (JD)" (08/2013) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "If you've ever picked wild blackberrie...

95 points Wine Advocate: "A deceptively medium-bodied wine, the 2009 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard possesses stunning balance of fruit, acidity and structure, along with superb integration of the whole clusters. There is a mid-palate pliancy and richness to the 2009 that is simply breathtaking. The Mills is all about elegance. (AG)" (08/2012) 92 points Int'l Wine Cellar: "A highly perfumed array of red fruit scents are complicated by candied rose, underbrush and incense. Fleshy and penetrating, with vivid raspberry and bitter cherry flavors lifted by zesty...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "**Editors' Choice** This is a marvelously complete wine, with its impressive ripe fruit, shining through the open structure. It is firm, but not too much. Stone black fruits are just perfectly ripe. There is just a core of dryness to compliment the rest of the wine." (12/2007) 91 points Wine Advocate: "This is a deep ruby/purple-colored, stylish, sexy concoction of raspberries, graphite, smoke, minerals, and flowers. The complex aromatics are followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless St.-Julian displaying velvety tannin...

Int'l Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Aromas of smoky oak, chocolate, tobacco leaf, mint and earth. Flavors generally cooler than those of the 2001 and 2000, ranging from red fruit liqueur to less-ripe leafy and minty notes. Offers an attractive fruit/acid balance, but there's less stuffing here to support the somewhat less ripe tannins, giving the finish a faint dryness. (ST)" (06/2002) Wine Spectator: "Pretty raspberry, spice and floral aromas to this red. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a slightly astringent finish. A bit hollow in the midpalate. Give ...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Best Buy* Setting the benchmark for London dry-style gins, look for a fresh, clean scent and flavors of lemon peel and juniper, accented by white pepper, ginger, cayenne and coriander before fading to zingy lemon and a mildly sweet exit. At 47% abv it reads a little hot, but it's ideal for drinks with a bit of dilution, like a classic Gin & Tonic. (KN)" (09/2016) K&L Notes: *Gold* 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It should mature well." (04/2016) 94 points James Suckling: "Dried-mushroom and dark-fruit character. Some flowers, too. Full body, round and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Big and chewy. Yet finishes beautifully. Fantastic. Better in 2022." (02/2018) 93 points Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Labegorce is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% C...

DiSaronno is perhaps the world's best known almond-flavored liqueur. With a history dating back to 1525 A.D. and a star pupil of Leonardo da Vinci, the recipe for this classic spirit has remained secret since Domenico Reina started producing it commercially at the turn of the 20th century. This is must-have ingredient in a wide range of sour-style cocktails or on its own as a digestif.

Wine Enthusiast: "The bouquet smells of minerals, semisweet grain and citrus zest. Entry is sweet and sugary; the taste profile at midpalate takes on heavy notes of glycerin, cane sugar and charcoal. (PP)" (05/2008) K&L Notes: The classic vodka in a large format.

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Inside the recognizable green bottle, look for bold juniper plus notes of anise, lemon peel, and a faint white-floral touch, laced with black pepper heat. 96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "Smells of chocolate-covered orange, dry malt and oak; aeration stimulates dry breakfast cereal, lanolin, beeswax and palm oil aromas. Entry is layered by sweet grain, oak barrel, vanilla wafer, toffee and fudge; midpalate gives off wave after wave of integrated spirit, grain, wood and acidity. A perfect Speyside single malt." (11/2008) K&L Notes: This mighty 30 year is never available long.

96-97 points James Suckling: "This is really cool to smell, with lead pencil shavings, iron filings and oyster shells. Blackcurrants, too. Full to medium body with layers of firm tannins, but a dusty and powdery texture, too. Lovely finish. " (05/2022) 95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "95–97. Barrel Sample. The structure of this wine is the thing—with both power and density, it has weight and the richness associated with this property but in a lighter style proper to the vintage. Decanter: "This still exudes the freshness and exuberance that the wine had during the primeur stage with its scents of blackcurrant, raspberry, and crushed strawberry along with a delicate floral touch. The new oak is perfectly integrated while imparting a subtle smoky note. The attack is surprisingly creamy, announcing a full-bodied texture wrapped around perfectly polished tannins allied with fine-judged acidity that together provide thrust leading to a finish that is intense yet light-footed and infused with freshness. This is a truly remarkable wine that will surely develop an even more velvety mouthfeel in years to come. Bravo.(YC)" (09/2021)

Bid on this 3 liter of 2019 Bella Oaks Rutherford Proprietary Red (3L) (OWC - 100VN, 98DC, 98RP) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2019 Bella Oaks Proprietary Red Wine is a more than worthy follow up to the fabulous 2018. Proprietor Suzanne Deal Booth and winemaker Nigel Kinsman crafted a wine that captures all the pedigree of this historic Rutherford site in spades. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry, mocha, blood orange, spice and mint all soar out of the glass as this majestic, statuesque Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its undeniable pedigree. In 2019, Kinsman opted to co-ferment a dollop of Cabernet Franc, a choice that paid off brilliantly. The 2019 is not as potent as the 2018, but instead is all about finesse and elegance. It shows just how refined Napa Valley can be. I only hope I have a chance to taste it as a mature wine. In a word: unforgettable. (AG)" (01/2022)
