Wine Spectator: "A lighter style, this juicy red shows dark berry and violet notes. The tannins are ripe and sufficient for balance, with moderate length. Syrah, Mourvèdre and Viognier. *Best Values* (AZ)" (12/2020) K&L Notes: South Africa has always been a great place to find wines that deliver big on value, and always impress in the glass. Boekenhoutskloof is named for the local variety of beech tree that populates the Franschhoek Valley where the winery and estate vineyards are located. The 2019 Boekenhoutskloof "The Wolftrap" Red Blend Western Cape...

This has been the #1 selling Italian wine for more than two decades at K&L! You can't get that kind of continued success without a supremely fantastic quality-to-price ratio. The southern Tuscan coast is a wonderful location for winemaking, with stable temperatures and a solid history of quality, yet no fame and fortune. Incredibly priced bargains come out of the region, and the proof is in the bottle. This wine is wonderful, soft, forward and easy-to-drink Sangiovese with an enticing mixture of cherry, plum and earth. Eminently drinkable.

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a strong bottling of this Cabernet-dominant red blend. There’s a slight funk at first, which quickly blows off to reveal aromas of mint, tomato stem, iodine, pencil shavings and warm clay, all weaving through puckered, sunkissed fruit. The palate is big and broad yet raspy and a little on the warm side alcohol-wise. It avoids being syrupy, however, thanks to a lifted line of acidity and a grip of sinewy, spicy tannins. Shows variety and place expression at an affordable price point. " (08/2020) Wine Spectator: "Light...

92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Curator, a blend of Shiraz, Cinsault and Mourvèdre matured in used barrels, has a lovely bouquet of mulberry, red plum, rooibos and light fennel aromas. The harmonious, expressive palate is medium-bodied with a dab of pepper on the entry, good weight and slightly tertiary red fruit toward the finish. This is a fine Red Blend with good persistence and plenty of personality." (04/2021)

92 points James Suckling: "Very pretty pinot with dried strawberries, flowers and cedar on the nose, following through to a medium to full body with a firm, silky-textured palate and a long, creamy finish. Attractive texture. Drink or hold. Screw cap. " (10/2020) K&L Notes: "Year in and year out one of our best values in Pinot Noir. If you don't believe me, just ask any K&L customer." (Illya Haase, K&L Staff Member) This wine comes to us from Sonoma County's Martin Ray Winery, owned by Courtney Benham (creator of the Blackstone brand). This multi-coun...

Radley & Finch is a range of varietal wines made by Thinus Kruger and Pascal Schildt. The name was inspired from the famous book: To Kill a Mockingbird, but unlike the serious nature of the book, these wines aim to reflect a typical and light-hearted style of wine true to the most enjoyed grape varieties originating in South Africa. The motto: Optimism, beats the pants off pessimism. The goals is for the wines to be an honest path for wine drinkers to delve into the special world of premium South African wines over time. The majority of the grapes for t...

91 points James Suckling: " A juicy, medium-fruity wine with currants and some herbal undertones. Medium body and soft, savory tannins and flavors. Real cabernet character. " (01/2020)

Winery Notes:"60% Sangiovese, 20% Grenache, 20% Zinfandel. All produced in smaller lots and aged in neutral barrels. Grenache aged for 12 months, Sangiovese and Zinfandel aged for 9 months. This time in the barrel allows the wine to soften so that when we put it into a can it’s ready to drink! Silky, medium-bodied, bing cherry, strawberry, sandalwood, licorice, cranberry and plum. Try with red sauce pasta dishes, tacos, pizza, burgers, anything chocolate."
