93 points Wine Spectator: "This maturing red retains freshness, with a plump texture and lively flavors. Currant, cocoa, licorice and loamy earth notes are supported by gentle tannins and orange peel acidity. Gentle, yet deep and focused. Not showy, but complete. (TM)" (10/2020) 92 points Decanter: "A wonderful combination here of coffee, tobacco, leather alongside black cherries, figs and prune flavours. This Gran Reserva spends 28 months in oak barrels and 36 months in the bottle until it's released. It has a smooth and velvet-like texture with ripe ...

95 points James Suckling: "Wow. Wonderfully aromatic nose of currants, blackberries and lilacs. Full body but refined and beautiful. The quality of the tannins is exception. So fine. Lovely austerity and tension on the finish. Better in 2016." (02/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The saturated ruby/purple-hued 2011 Haut-Bailly exhibits a glorious, subtle, noble set of aromatics consisting of red and black currants, sweet cherries, graphite, truffles and a faint hint of wood spice. The wine hits the palate with the profound elegance and p...

94 points Decanter: "Sir Peter Michael’s flagship wine ‘les pavots’, or 'the poppies’, delivers a fine and complex full-bodied wine that will reward cellaring. It has a ripe, sweet nose of warm fruit and concentrated blackberry jam, combined with herbal, minty characters and a veneer of fine oak. The palate is fresh, tight, balanced and refined, carrying a weight that hides the alcohol well. (RS)" (09/2018) 94 points James Suckling: "This a 2011 with impressive structure and finesse. Black truffle and blackcurrants. Pine needles. Aromatic. Full body wi...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is full of fruit and weighty tannins. Coming from one of the finest vineyards in Burgundy, it is going to have great power and an opulent nature. This wine also has elegance, its black fruits controlled and with a mineral edge. That doesn't take away the power, it enhances the stylishness of this grand wine. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (09/2014) 95 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Rossignol-Trapet Chambertin is also a very, very fine bottle in the making. The deep, pure and youthful nose wafts from the glass in a mix of red a...

2011 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Caillerets"
Back In Stock!
92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An intensely spicy and strikingly fresh red and blue pinot fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of plum, earth and wet stone nuances. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the medium-bodied flavors that are brimming with a cool minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, linear and hugely persistent finish. This too is just terrific but be prepared to be patient. *Outstanding, Sweet Spot*" (04/2013) 92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium bright red. Aromas of black che...

90-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(Larry Turley bought this property next to his winery north of St. Helena in 2009 and promptly pulled out the merlot and replanted it to cabernet sauvignon; aged in one-third new oak, vs. 20% for the zinfandels here; tasted from tank a day or two prior to bottling): Good full red. Nice lift to the aromas and flavors of currant and pepper. Sweet, supple and scented, in a gentle, seamless style. An herbal quality contributes to the wine's juicy character and light touch. Finishes seamless and p...

93 points Vinous: "Schrader's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is pure silk on the palate. The aromas, flavors and textures are incredibly refined and lifted. A soft, seamless wine that stands out for its gorgeous balance, the 2011 is showing beautifully today. Freshly cut flowers, mint and red berries all flow through to the impeccably refined finish. It is fascinating to taste the RBS next to Las Piedras. Both wines are Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon, but here we are in To Kalon, where the flavors seem to have a little more defin...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Schrader’s newest offering is the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV, which comes from clone 337 of the Las Piedras site. This is a west side valley floor vineyard with a foundation of alluvial river pebbles and rocks as well as gravelly loam. The Schraders have a long-term lease on 5 acres, which, added to their 16 acres of Beckstoffer To Kalon and 5 acres of Beckstoffer George III, gives them some pretty serious leases on some of the finest terroirs in Napa Valley. The softest wine of ...

2011 Latour, Pauillac 2019 Ex-Château Release
Top Pick!
97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Big tannins and impressive fruits are the hallmarks of this impressive wine. It is also subtle, not showing all its flavors at once, hiding beneath tannins and structure. For this fruity vintage, it shows a strong sense of direct, solid structure, only allowing the strong black plum and berry flavors to come through slowly. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (05/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "This has a gorgeous core of steeped plum, boysenberry and black currant coulis flavors, backed by a prominent graphite note that drives throug...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Only made in top vintages and a blend of roughly 60% (or more) Mourvedre and the rest a mix of other permitted varieties, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is a cellar selection that always comes from the same plot of vines. A massive, powerful wine, with serious amounts of extract and concentration, it slowly gives up gamey, complex (and heavenly) notes of blueberry, blackberry, blood, licorice, garrigue and smoke. This flows to a full-bodied, layered and brilliantly textured effort that conc...

91 points Vinous: "Dried cherries, mint, licorice, wild flowers and leather waft from the glass in the 2011 Zinfandel Mead Ranch. One of the more high-toned, savory wines in the range, the 2011 stands out for its length and balance. A feminine, ethereal finish rounds things out nicely. Yields were just 0.47 tons per acre because of heavy rains during the flowering. (AG)" (11/2013) K&L Notes: According to Wine Advocate's Antonio Galloni: "This is a thrilling set of wines from Larry Turley, Ehren Jordan and Tegan Passalacqua. Tasting this wide a range of...

94 points Vinous: "Rich, round and sensual, the 2011 Syrah Kenefick Ranch impresses for its energy and nuance. Iron, smoke, licorice, tobacco and savory notes all add complexity to the intense, dark fruit. The 2011 is medium in body, persistent and impeccably balanced. Sweet floral notes add perfume on the finish. This is a fabulous showing." (11/2013)

2011 Turley "Zampatti" Sonoma County Zinfandel (Previously $50) (Previously $50)
Back In Stock!
91 points Vinous: "The 2011 Zinfandel Zampatti Vineyard, from a parcel planted in 1915, is dense, compact and not fully expressive today. Dark red cherry, plum, spices and menthol notes emerge over time, but the 2011 needs another year or two to fully come together. Still, because of the cool vintage, I expect the Zampatti will always be a bit linear in style." (11/2013) Wine Spectator: "Big and a bit blowsy, this still seems to be coming together. Berry cobbler, underbrush and jalapeño aromas lead to ripe baked cherry and charred spice flavors. Drink ...

96 points James Suckling: "Lovely dried red fruit, such as plums with just a hint of prunes. Cedar, walnut and leather undertones. Full-bodied with lots of fruit, considering its age, as well as hints of smoke, tobacco, bark and black tea. Some balsamic at the finish. Traditionally styled with lovely results. Drink or hold." (10/2020) 95 points John Gilman: "The 2011 vintage of Gran Reserva 904 from La Rioja Alta is a beautiful bottle of Rioja. At ten years of age, it is starting to really arrive at its sweet spot of drinkability, where it will probabl...

96 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Trapet Chambertin is absolutely magical and one of the best 2011s... The classic and youthful nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, black minerality, plummy overtones, raw cocoa, mustard seed, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and youthfully structured, with the purity of the vintage very much in evidence, a great core, ripe, firm tannins and superb focus and grip on the very, very long and soil-driven finish. This is the most aromatically expressive of the three g...

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a hint of herbaceousness to the otherwise fresh and ripe red Pinot fruit, spice and earth elements that actually adds breadth. The broad-shouldered, concentrated and punchy medium weight plus flavors possess fine size and weight along with a certain muscularity on the extract-rich finish. In typical Fournières fashion, this is a robust and rustic effort with mouth coating tannins and as such it will require extended cellaring." (04/2013)

2011 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "Very ripe with plum, spice and dried-flower aromas, as well as chocolate, fresh flowers and sandalwood. Coffee and hints of meat. Sort of decadent. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins and an intense, juicy feel. Unique cedar and walnut undertones. So delicious now, but one for the future, too. (JS)" (09/2020) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Unico released in 2021, 10 years after the harvest, is the 2011 Unico, selected from 40 of their 210 hectares of vineyards. 2011 is a concentrated and ripe vintage, and th...

2011 Hirsch "East Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
93 points Vinous: "Dark cherries, plums, leather, licorice and smoke all flesh out in the 2011 Pinot Noir East Ridge. The tannins are a bit firm, but they are also impeccably balanced. Deceptively medium in body, the 2011 possesses gorgeous density and mid-palate pliancy. Cloves, new leather, tobacco and mint are all layered into the supple, deeply expressive finish. (AG)" (02/2014) 92 points Wine & Spirits: "For this bottling, winemaker Ross Cobb draws from the warmer inland side of David Hirsch’s far-coast vineyard. The 2011 East Ridge is vibrant and...

2011 Paul Lato "Il Padrino - Bien Nacido Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Syrah
Back In Stock!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Harvested in the first week of November, with tiny yields, the 2011 Syrah II Padrino Bien Nacido Vineyard is flat-out gorgeous. Fermented with 20% stem inclusion and richer and more masculine than the Larner Vineyard, with ripe raspberry, ground pepper, toast, underbrush, roasted meat and big crushed stone-like minerality, it flows onto the palate with a medium to full-bodied, firm and structured feel. Still playing in the house style of highlight elegance and finesse over power and richness, it needs another 1-2...

94 points James Suckling: "A beautiful red with superb concentration for the vintage, featuring currants, berries and light milk chocolate. Full and silky, with a soft texture and a delicately fruity aftertaste. Dick Grace is a guru of classic Napa cab each vintage. Better in 2016." (05/2014) K&L Notes: Grace Family Vineyards was planted with cuttings from the famed Bosché vineyard and first harvested in 1978. Those first grapes were handpicked by family and friends and taken to Caymus Winery in the back of a station wagon. This Napa Valley vineyard su...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Juicy dark cherries, cloves, new leather, licorice and asphalt are all woven together beautifully in Mark Aubert’s 2011 Pinot Noir Ritchie Vineyard. Despite its considerable size and volume, the 2011 possesses stunning detail, nuance and freshness. Rose petals, violets and plums all grace a finish that stands out for its total elegance and class. I hope readers can appreciate how rare it is to find a wine with both this level of depth and nuance. Aromatically, the Ritchie Pinot has much in common with the Chardon...

93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A firm and tannic wine, it has the weight to support its tannins. It’s balanced, solid and dense, with a powerful shot of black fruits." (04/2012) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A super effort from Chateau Canon, this property, owned by the proprietors of the haute couture house of Chanel, has turned in a stunningly rich 2011 Canon with a full-bodied texture and surprising concentration and purity. It is a noble, intense Canon with sweet tannin, lavish concentration (atypical for the vintage), and a stunningly ...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "The second wine of Château Cheval Blanc is packed with wood flavors and spice. A toasty wine, it also has solid tannins plus fragrant fruitiness. Already the fruit is coming through strongly and it is for medium-term aging. (RV)" (06/2014) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Polished, offering good mouthfeel to the layers of fig sauce, crushed plum and licorice. Judicious toast frames the finish, with a hint of charcoal adding length. A little lighter than when tasted from barrel, but still balanced and refined without trying too har...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 96VN, (91-93RP), 92ST, 91WS) in original wood. Vinous: "Dark plum, mocha, spice, licorice and asphalt meld together in the 2011 Scarecrow. One of the most powerful, resonant wines of the year, the 2011 is endowed with serious structure. Readers need to be patient. Today the tannins are super powerful, but at the same time there is tremendous complexity in the glass. The 2011 is arguably the most refined Scarecrow ever made. There is plenty of depth, but also incredible elegance and precision throughout. (AG) 96+" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $1,050.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Bila Haut "Occultum Lapidem" Côtes de Roussillon-Villages (94RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Imagining the sweetness and purity of diverse berry fruits found in the corresponding L’Esquerda bottling allied to the saline savor of the corresponding Vignes de Bila-Haut will give you an idea of what awaits from the glass of 2011 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem. There is, unsurprisingly, at least as much sheer complexity on display here as in any of Bila-Haut’s wine, with mace, vanilla, licorice, wisteria and rowan taking things in a sweeter and spicier direction than found in their other 2011s. (DS)" (01/2014)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JS, 92WS, 90RP). James Suckling: "A juicy, savory Cabernet with spice, berry, green-tobacco and coffee aromas and flavors. Full body, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. So drinkable now, but will improve with age." (05/2014)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 92ST, 91WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon has really come together over the last six months. Deep, layered and resonant, the 2011 is easily among the top wines of the year. New leather, spices, mocha and plum notes flesh out in the glass. The style is quite textured, especially in comparison with the other great wines of the year. Hints of sage, rosemary, new leather and cloves wrap around a pointed, beautifully articulated finish supported by insistent veins of salinity. (AG) 95+" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $330.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Cirq "Treehouse Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (92VN, 91ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Treehouse is a firm, structured wine that needs quite a bit of air to start opening up. Dark red stone fruits, crushed rocks, mint, licorice and spices emerge, followed by more floral dried rose petal and violet notes as the wine begins to emerge. The savory notes of the year are evident but well balanced. This is a terrific first effort from Michael Browne and Cirq. If opened within the next year, the 2011 is going to need at least 2 hours of air for the tannins to soften. This is every bit as impressive as it was from barrel. (AG)" (02/2014)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine du Pegau "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape ((91-94JD), 93RP, 93WS, 92ST, 92VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "A solid 2011 that should surpass what the estate did in 2008 (which is no small thing), the 2011 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée, tasted from multiple barrels, is a perfumed, spice filled offering that oozes sweet red fruits, pepper, garrigue, and licorice aromas and flavors. It is softly fruited and supple on the palate, yet has excellent mid-palate concentration, sound tannic structure, and outstanding length. It should be approachable on release, yet given the track record here, also age gracefully." (09/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Outpost Howell Mountain Zinfandel (93RP, 91ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just how terrific the 2011 vintage was on the high elevation of Howell Mountain is evidenced by the 2011 Zinfandel. Made from 100% Zinfandel, this beauty spent 16 months in French oak (34% new). It exhibits the briery, peppery, meaty side of Zinfandel, a dense ruby/plum color, full-bodied richness and loads of fruit and character. (RP)" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $185.00

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96DC, 96W&S, (93-95RP), 94JS, 94VN, 92WS). Decanter: "Dried mulberry, brick dust and rosemary aromas intertwine with Monte Bello’s signature sweet n’ sour scent. Seamless, pure and plump on the palate, with flavours of dried blueberry, fig and dried cherry. The finish is firm and rustic, ending with notes of ash, cocoa powder and cherry skins. Still in its youth, but beginning to reveal itself. (ML)" (01/2021)

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Gaja "Costa Russi" Nebbiolo Langhe (94RP, 94VN, 93JS, 93WE, 93WS). Vinous: "Round, supple and succulent, the 2011 Costa Russi is laced with dark red cherry, plum, mocha, cloves and new leather. The classic Costa Russi personality comes through in a soft, gracious wine with tons of near and medium-term appeal. The Costa Russi captures an attractive middle ground between the ripe, pliant style of the year and the medium bodied grace of Nebbiolo. I expect the 2011 will offer a long and broad drinking window of pure pleasure. Although Costa Russi is often the most precocious of Gaja's single-vineyard wines, it is the last site to be picked. (AG)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94RP, 94WE, 94WS, 93W&S, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Reminiscent of a lighter weight 2009, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up a sweet bouquet of spiced black cherries, plum, truffle, saddle leather and underbrush. Coming from tiny yields (which were down 50% from 2010), this medium to full-bodied 2011 is gorgeously textured and has solid mid-palate depth, terrific purity of fruit and ripe tannin. Relatively approachable and enjoyable even now, it should nevertheless evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. Drink 2015-2031. (JD)" (10/2013)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 97DC, 97JS, 94ST, 94VN, 93RP, 93WS) in original wood. James Suckling: "Fabulous floral aromas of currants, flowers, stones and rosemary stem. Purity. Full body with a fabulous backbone of chewy tannins with a gorgeous austerity. Elegance with power. This needs at least three or four more years." (05/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (96W&S, 94JS, 94VN, 92WE, 92WS). Wine & Spirits: "The cool 2011 season turned out a pristine vintage of Monte Bello, made from Cabernet (88%) grown on a limestone-inflected ridge high above Silicon Valley, blended with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The team at Ridge let the fruit recover for two weeks following an early October storm before picking, and were more aggressive in their extraction than normal, drawing as much color and structure as possible from the delicate fruit. The aromas revolve around oak at first—anise, wood smoke, cedar bark and cinnamon—but the wood’s contribution is fine and integrated, shading gradually toward bright fruit as the finish lengthens with floral aromas and the tang of tiny, concentrated black currants. " (04/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Syrah (99RP, 96VN, (94-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Syrah Dark Blossom showed even better from bottle than barrel. A blend of 84% Syrah, 8% Grenache, 4% Petite Sirah and the rest Roussanne and Petite Manseng, this beauty was fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in equal parts new and used French oak. One of the shining successes in the vintage, it’s a full-bodied, concentrated and layered Syrah that has awesome aromatics of blackcurrants, Peking duck, pepper, licorice and charcuterie in its seamless, thrillingly pure profile. As with Manfred’s other 2011s, the tannins are certainly present, yet they’re sweet, polished and have no hard edges. (JD)" (08/2014)
Starting Bid: $690.00

93-95 points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Far more expressive than the Marie Beurrier, displaying a wild array of candied red fruits, flowers and Asian spices, along with an intense mineral overtone. Silky, sweet and pure on the palate, offering intense raspberry preserve and spicecake flavors and a jolt of lavender pastille. Closes long and sweet, with building spiciness and smooth, harmonious tannins that sneak up late. (JR)" (04/2015) 92-94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2011 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve des Célestins will be bottled probably sometime...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Grenache (97RP, 97VN, (93-95ST)). Vinous: "The 2011 Grenache Dark Blossom emerges from the glass with darker tonalities of fruit and firmer tannin compared to the 2012. Vivid, complex and nuanced, the 2011 is flat-out stunning today. Grilled herbs, smoke, sage, mint and black cherries linger on the explosive, structured finish. (AG)" (07/2014)
