Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP, 91VN). Vinous: "The 1970 Beaulieu Vineyards Private Reserve Georges de Latour was fully mature, but pretty, soft and nicely balanced. Crushed flowers and a hint of tobacco lingered on the layered finish. (AG)" (02/2012)
Starting Bid: $370.00

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 1970 Beychevelle, St-Julien (92JG, 90WS) and 1-bottle of 1970 Cantenac Brown, Margaux. Of the 1970 Beychevelle, St-Julien, John Gilman writes: "Beychevelle is another of those fine properties that has fallen quite out of fashion these days, but based on the brilliant bottles of 1970 and 1966 that I have tasted in the last few months, this is one château that deserves a lot more attention (at the very least for its wines from this era). The nose on the 1970 is absolutely lovely, as it soars from the glass in a refined mélange of sweet black berries, plums, black truffles, tobacco, soil and a patina of old wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully delineated, with juicy acidity, fine intensity of flavor, and great length and grip on the long and harmonious finish." (07/2006)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1970 Montrose, St-Estèphe (95JG). John Gilman: "The ’70 vintage of Montrose has always been one of my favorites for this property, and this particular bottle showed outstandingly well. The bouquet is very, very deep and delivers a wonderfully complex mélange of cassis, black raspberry, cigar box, woodsmoke, a stellar expression of Montrose earthy soil, herbs and a judicious framing of cedary, spicy wood. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, young and urgent, with great acids, a rock solid core of black fruit, excellent expression of terroir, and profound length and grip on the mineral-infused finish. " (07/2006)
Starting Bid: $312.00
