90-92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village includes vines from Les Vigneux plus declassified vines from other parcels, picked on September 9. It had been racked three weeks prior to tasting. It has a crisp nose of brambly red berry fruit laced with potpourri and light loamy aromas. The palate is well balanced with crunchy red fruit, a liberal sprinkling of cracked black pepper and a tensile finish that neatly incorporates the 25% new oak. This is a very well-crafted Vosne Village. (NM)" (12/2020) 88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An ag...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An expressive, spicy and relatively high-toned nose of both red and black pinot fruit that is terrifically complex introduces fresh, intense and notably mineral-driven medium full flavors blessed with plenty of dry extract that lends a real sense of body and fullness to the firm and vibrant finish underpinned by a lovely feeling of tension and punch. Interestingly, the tannins are slightly less refined than those of the Echézeaux but it matches it in virtually ever other category. This may very well be the best vinta...

93 points Wine Spectator: "Enticing and intense aromas of black cherry, black currant, mint and spicy oak mark this rich red. It's open and inviting, with fine harmony and length. (BS)" (03/2021) 92 points Decanter: "Even at the village level, the 2018 wines from Grivot are intense and beautiful. Enticing nose with ripe raspberries, cherries and crushed violets. Suave on the palate and quite intense with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. One of the best Vosne-Romanée village reds I tried in 2018. Destemmed and matured for 18 months in barrique, 2...

97 points Decanter: "Bertrand de Villaine sometimes refers to Romanée-St-Vivant as 'monastic' and there can indeed be a taut, almost ascetic note to the wine when it’s young. This is the tightest and most focused of the 2017s, showing subtle, struck match reduction, chalky top notes and subtle whole bunch aromas of clove and aniseed. The palate is refined, refreshing and almost mouth-watering, with red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, underlying tension and wonderful length. (TA)" (01/2020) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Romanée-St...

94 points Decanter: "Premier cru Les Chaumes is just downslope from Malconsorts and La Tâche. The wines can have an austere reputation, but the version produced by Nicole Lamarche is dense but silky and not overly firm. She contrasts it with the very powerful wines made by Jean-Nicolas Méo and Charles Lachaux. This beautiful wine presents an exquisite balance between a powerful, substantial structure and evocative, seductive fruit. Drinking Window 2021 - 2039. (CC)" (10/2020) 90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood sets off ripe, pretty and ...

95 points Decanter: "A wine that is both juicy and wonderfully hedonistic, this classy cuvée is fermented with 75% whole bunches and aged in 70% new wood. Comparatively pale in colour, but certainly not lacking in depth or palate weight, it has some tannic grip and subtle wood to complement the plush, palate-caressing fruit. Deliciously drinkable. (TA)" (10/2019) 93 points John Gilman: "In a torrid vintage like 2018, I would expect the Beaumonts here to be quite black fruity in personality, but the wine is all red fruit this year and really superb. It ...

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A slightly more deeply pitched nose features notes of plum-suffused red cherry and sandalwood scents that unveil plenty of Vosne-style spice elements. There is good richness to the caressing and delicious medium-bodied flavors that tighten up somewhat on the lingering and focused finale. This will need to develop more depth with time in bottle but should it do that it should merit the upper end of my projected range." (01/2020) 89-91 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru comes from just over...

96 points Decanter: "Perfumed, refined and showing none of the firmness that Aux Malconsorts can exhibit in its youth, this is balanced, nuanced and spicy, with 75% whole bunches adding some freshness and texture, all framed by 70% new wood. Not a blockbuster wine by any means, but this has considerable class, poise and palate length with succulent red berry fruit to the fore. (TA)" (10/2019) 94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fireworks begin in earnest with the 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts, a brilliant young wine that burst...

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with an exquisite bouquet of sweet red berries, cherries, orange rind, smoked duck and exotic spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and enveloping wine framed by velvety tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a long and youthfully chalky finish. From a parcel planted in the 1930s, I often think that Aux Brûlées is Méo's finest wine; and while I'd give the Cros Parantoux the edge this year, it is a superb e...

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the very fresh and pure nose is spicier still with notes of anise, hoisin, sandalwood and floral nuances that add a touch of elegance to the mostly red berry scents. The vibrant and tension-filled medium-bodied flavors are firmer and perhaps less seductive than usual but also longer and more structured than usual. I would add that it's rare when this wine is at more or less the same level as the Murgers or the Boudots but at this admittedly early stage, it appears that it is. We will of course see in time but...

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru is almost understated on the nose, touches of wet limestone and flint permeating the fresh black fruit and a subtle brine note loitering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fresh acidity. The 70% whole bunch lends a dash of black pepper toward a finish that is full of tension. Good length and plenty of finesse. This will evolve into a very fine 2019. (NM)" (12/2020) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood frames notes of soy, hoisin, st...

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village wafts from the glass with an inviting bouquet of raspberries, spices, orange rind, rich soil tones and espresso roast. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with fine structuring tannins, succulent acids and a long, delicately perfumed finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The ripe and fresh nose of red raspberry, violet and spicy aromas is trimmed in a generous dollop of wood and vanilla influences. The velvety and punch...

96 points Decanter: "Showing a little more concentration and depth than the Lamarche Echézeaux in 2018 (though that is an impressive wine in its own right), this comes from a single parcel of 0.3ha. With a hint of good reduction on the nose, it's a savoury, spicy number with some tannic grip to complement the scented berry fruit that's so typical of this domaine's wines. Drinking Window 2024 - 2032. (TA)" (10/2019) 92-94 points Vinous: "The 2018 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from Lamarche’s 0.30 hectares of vine. It has a little more horsepower than...

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A wonderfully spicy nose combines notes of hoisin and soy with those of fresh plum and violet. The sleek, delicious and well-defined middle weight flavors possess an equally lovely texture before firming up on the focused, youthfully austere and moderately structured finish. Once again, this offers very fine quality for a villages level wine and is worth investigating. *Outstanding, Top Value*" (01/2021) 90-92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village contains 20% whole bunch from the La Violette lieu-dit a...

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is quite spicy with hints of hoisin, sandalwood and exotic tea that add breadth to the markedly floral black pinot fruit nose. The succulent, round and seductively textured, indeed even opulent, flavors coat the mouth with dry extract while also buffering the firm, serious and lightly austere finale. The supporting tannins are dense but fine and this will also need at least some patience. *Outstanding, Top Value*" (04/2020) 88-90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village bursts ...

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood influence surrounds the overtly spiced and ripe plum, dark currant and violet scents. The attractively textured, rich and sappy medium weight flavors possess very good depth on the lengthy finish where a touch of wood appears. This is quite good for its level and is a wine that should drink well on the younger side if that's your preference." (01/2020) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village was the only cru that had been racked when I visited in mid-November. The bouquet is well defin...

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru, matured in 50% new oak, has an attractive bouquet of black cherries, blueberry, crushed violet and light rose petal aromas that are nicely integrated with the wood. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins framing the blackberry, bilberry, black olive and black pepper notes, the latter lending the finish a bit of welcome frisson and length. Quite long on the aftertaste. This is one of Michel Gros’s best wines this year. (NM)" (01/2020) 89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Mild ...

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too displays just enough reduction to blur the underlying detail of the nose. Otherwise there is an elegant and seductive inner mouth perfume to the velvet-textured middle weight flavors that evidence focused power on the equally grippy finish that is just a bit better balanced." (01/2020) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru comes from the 2.12-hectare monopole of the domaine, though 0.4 hectares was pulled up two years ago for replanting. It has an attractive bouquet of well-...

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village has also turned out well, exhibiting scents of wild berries, peonies, violets and grilled squab, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and nicely concentrated palate that's lively and refined. This is a lovely wine. (WK)" (01/2020) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village has a fragrant bouquet of morello cherry and raspberry aromas. The palate is sweet on the entry, featuring notes of sour cherry and orange peel. A little compact toward the finish, but it sho...

87-90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and cool nose combines notes of Vosne-style spice with those of plum and violet scents. The medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel as well as a touch of minerality on the attractively textured finale that offers good if not special depth and persistence. This should drink well on the younger side if preferred." (01/2019) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village bursts with aromas of rich cassis, plums and spices, framed by toasty new oak. On the palate, it's medium to ...

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1Er Cru les Malconsorts has an elegant, refined bouquet with mineral-tinged red berry fruit, composed and a little backward but nicely focused. There is class here. The palate is supple on the entry with fine tannin, silky smooth in texture, very harmonious and nicely structured on the finish. This is a subtle Malconsorts, one that should not be underestimated. (NM)" (12/2015) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A top note of menthol adds to the breadth of the overtly spicy and fr...

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another great success this year is the 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts, a brilliant cuvée in the making that bursts with aromas of cassis, cherries, smoked duck, dried flowers and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and textural, with a multidimensional core of lavishly ripe but succulent fruit that entirely conceals the wine's structuring tannins. Readers who are unable to secure a few bottles of Hudelot-Noellat's Richebourg this year should consider consoling themselves with this ...

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village is also very promising, mingling aromas of cassis and raspberries with hints of dark chocolate, rose hips and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and vibrant, it's deep and layered, with powdery structuring tannins and a long, sapid finish. I deferred my tasting with Charles Van Canneyt until as late as possible, as he told me that several protracted malolactic fermentations had only just concluded by the end of harvest 2020. The wines were worth the wait, however, ...

92 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and silky, this red begins with aromas of violet and black currant, picking up hints of earth and spice on the palate. It's very elegant and lacy, with an attractive, spicy finish. Enjoyable now, but will improve. (BS)" (12/2004) 88-91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Ripe aromas of black cherry, chocolate and sweet oak. Concentrated and chewy, with black fruits complicated by mineral notes and chocolatey torrefaction. Finishes with very good length and pronounced oakiness. (ST)" (03...

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the expressive nose is at once spicier and a bit more elegant as well with its array of more evident floral influence on the black cherry aromas that are trimmed in a discreet application of wood. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors possess a velvety texture thanks to the sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the moderately firm tannic spine shaping the delicious and lingering finish that is slightly firmer. This will need at least a few years of cellaring first and should easily reward up to a...

95 points Decanter: "This has the most gorgeous savoury red fruits edged with rosemary, thyme, crushed earth and tobacco. A totally delicious wine that is both mouth-watering and restrained. A touch of reduction at first keeps the aromatics closed, but they open up quickly to show floral-edged pleasure. From a single 1.4ha plot opposite Richebourg (the Aux Brûlées vineyard is 5ha in total), with a clay-limestone rich soil that holds moisture and so stays cool over hot summers like 2018. 60% whole cluster. Drinking Window 2021 - 2036. (JA)" (02/2020) 93...

1989 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru (4cm fill-signs of past seepage) (Previously $17500) (Previously $17500)

97 points Wine Spectator: "Firm, intense and tannic, this young, backward, tightly wound wine matches richness and concentration with subtlety and finesse. Loads of berry and cherry-scented flavors have a touch of spice and anise, and the flavors fan out on the finish. Lay this away. " (10/1992) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This particular bottle was, not surprisingly, quite floral but there is also a bit of a green streak on the nose and while almost all RC's have it to some degree, this is more prominent than usual and in my experience, rela...

95 points Decanter: "Domaine d'Eugénie's Echézeaux hails from a north-facing site that's close to the chilly Combe d'Orveaux, but it tastes like a wine from a warmer vineyard, thanks to low yields and green harvesting. Big, rich, bold, tannic and extracted, it's not the most feminine or graceful of Pinots, but what it lacks in finesse, it makes up for it concentration and ageing potential. Drinking Window 2026 - 2036. (TA)" (10/2019) 92-94 points Vinous: "The 2018 Echézeaux Grand Cru includes 60% whole cluster. It has a very detailed, mineral-driven bo...

2017 Domaine d'Eugénie Echézeaux Grand Cru
Top Pick!
95 points Decanter: "Back at a decent crop size after the frost of 2016, this comes from a 0.5ha holding that's influenced by the cool breezes from the Combe d'Orveaux. With 60% whole bunches and 80% new oak, this is structured, serious and built to last. It's a big, spicy, profound wine with flavours of damson, black tea and liquorice. It needs a lot of time. Drinking Window 2025 - 2035. (TA)" (10/2018) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines located in the lieu-dit En Orveaux, the 2017 Echézeaux Grand Cru reveals aromas of ripe cherri...

94 points Decanter: "There's been a welcome shift in style in this wine in 2017, away from deep colour and extraction towards something that's more, well, Burgundian. Made with 60% whole bunches in 66% new wood, it comes from a 0.6ha parcel. Spicy, textured and aromatic, it has notes of orange zest, plush red fruits, good acidity and the tannic structure to age. (TA)" (10/2018) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of ripe cherries, sweet spices and a generous application of new oak introduce the 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Brûlées, a ...

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Interestingly, this is actually quite similar to the nose of the Grands Ech but it's arguably even spicier and quite cool in the context of the 2018 vintage along with a top note of menthol. The pliant medium-bodied flavors possess a decidedly sleek mouthfeel though the tension really builds from the mid-palate to the firm, dusty and very serious finish that offers outstanding length. Patience strongly advised as this is definitely resolutely structured. In a word, excellent." (01/2021) 95 points Decanter: "Nicole ...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Properly structured and with solid tannins, this is a concentrated wine. Its firm texture is balanced by ripe black fruits, dark and intense. From a vineyard surrounded by some of Burgundy's greatest, this superb wine needs many years. (RV) " (02/2018)
Price: $299.99

88-90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An appealingly spicy nose offers up a mélange of black pinot fruit, exotic Asian tea, violet and an interesting hint of dried tangerine peel. There is both fine volume and intensity to the nicely complex medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by firm and ever-so-mildly edgy tannins though in this case my sense is that they could very well round out in time." (01/2020) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village, aged in one-third new oak, has the best aromatics among Michel Gros’s Village Crus, with crus...

95-97 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit and more sous-bois aromas than the En Orveaux; touches of sage and pressed flowers emerge with time, adding more and more complexity. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy red fruit and gentle grip in the mouth. Quite structured for a Les Suchots, with a stunning, lightly spiced, energetic finish that has more vivacity than it knows what to do with. Fabulous. (NM)" (01/2020) 96 points Decanter: "Les Suchots is the biggest Premier Cr...

90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée is showing beautifully, soaring from the glass with a deep bouquet of wild berries, plums and cherries mingled with sweet spices, woodsmoke, grilled squab and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with fine concentration, lively acids and an expansive finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 89-91 points Vinous: "The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village, raised in around 25% new oak, has a very intense bouquet of black cherries and light iodine aromas. The palate is medi...

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Domaine Aurélien Verdet Vosne Romanée Vieilles Vignes (90WS). Wine Spectator: "Offers enticing smoke and spice aromas, with flavors of cherry, currant and earth holding focus as this builds to the finish. Balanced, lingering pleasantly. (BS)" (07/2016)
Starting Bid: $65.00

Bid on this bottle of 1990 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru (99BH, 98RP, 95VN, 93WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Medium ruby color. Initially, this is aromatically tight and closed but after 2 hours, it absolutely explodes from the glass with a breathtaking panoply of Asian spices, exotic fruit aromas and a touch of earth followed by rich, lush, almost opulent flavors that melt in the mouth and coat the palate with a layer of velvet on the fantastically long finish. This is a dramatic wine in every sense of the word yet it's not at all showy but rather discreet and understated. I particularly like the sense of inner power and purity of expression and this is as good a post '45 RC as I ever hope to drink. It should last for another 50 years and if you ever have the chance, don't miss it!" (01/2008)
Starting Bid: $18,955.00

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts has a sophisticated, mineral-driven bouquet with great clarity, less fruite and more restrained than the Beaux Monts but with greater focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a real candied, bonbon element, a core a sweetness that lends this real personality and wonderful poise on the finish. Lovely. (NM)" (12/2013) 92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding, Don't Miss!* Reduction. This is completely different from the Beaux Monts, particularly in te...

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Michel Bonnefond (Roumier) Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru (92RP, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark colored 1997 Ruchottes-Chambertin is, as Roumier describes it, a "passionate" wine. Spicy red cherries, dense layers of currants, and hints of oak can be discerned in its profound aromatics. It is a sensual, satin-textured, feminine, deep, and marvelously structured, medium to full-bodied offering. Stony black fruits and red cherries can be found throughout its seductive personality and persistent, harmonious finish. (PR)" (10/1999)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru "La Tâche" (98DC, 97RP, 96BH, 95JG, 95ST, 95WS). Decanter: "Full colour. Splendidly opulent nose. Rich and succulent. Very good tannins. Rather more integrated and sophisticated than the Richebourg. Very lovely fruit, and very finely balanced. A slight touch of mint at the end. Very long. Very fine indeed. (CC)" (02/2018)

Bid on this bottle of 2015 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Corton Grand Cru (93BH, 93DC, 93RP, 93VN). Vinous: "Good medium red. Captivating soil-driven scents of raspberry, flowers and smoky minerality. Not a particularly sweet or thick wine in the context of the vintage but juicy, precise and energetic, with its musky red fruit and earth flavors lifted by spices. Finishes savory and long, with a firm tannic spine. Already conveying strong personality. (ST)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $1,325.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Corton Grand Cru (94BH, 94RP, (91-93ST), 92DC, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Surpassing the 2015 rendition, the 2016 Corton Grand Cru is the finest wine that the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has produced to date from the holdings of Prince Florent de Mérode. Wafting from the glass with notes of cassis, currant leaf, raspberries and menthol, discretely framed by new wood, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and intense, gaining in depth and dimension as it sits in the glass, with tangy underpinning acids and powdery tannins, culminating in a long finish. Aubert de Villaine recounted that the Domaine replanted a third of Corton-Bressandes while also grafting over the Mérodes' young vines to their own massal selections of Pinot Fin. While this is built for four decade's evolution in the cellar, the balance and concentration are such that it could be drunk with pleasure in its youth. (WK)" (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $1,225.00

Bid on this bottle of 1998 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echézeaux Grand Cru (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is no longer so completely primary and while the nose has not yet reached full maturity, it is approaching it slowly but surely. The aromatic profile is very Vosne with ample blue and red berry fruit aromas cut with spice, earth and discreet game hints that lead to delicious, round and largely, if not completely, resolved middle weight flavors that display subtle mineral nuances on the long and lingering finish. While this could certainly be drunk now with pleasure, for my taste I would advise leaving the '98 Ech in the cellar for another 3 to 5 years and then drink over the next 10 to 15." (09/2010)
Starting Bid: $1,275.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1985 La Maison Rouget Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaumonts" (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "While there is the initial hints of bricking, the nose is still quite fresh with pretty spice, stone and secondary fruit aromas leading to rich, detailed and equally mineral-driven middle weight flavors that culminate in a focused, delicious, mouth coating and impressively lingering finish. I very much like the underlying sense of harmony and overall balance and unlike many '85s that are tiring today, this is going to be with us for years to come." (10/2010)
Starting Bid: $432.00

Bid on this bottle of 2015 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Échézeaux Grand Cru (95DC, 94BH, 94VN, 93RP). Decanter: "Lying just above Grands-Echézeaux, this was the last of the domaine’s climats to be picked, on the 12th and 14th of September, at a yield of 25.7hl/ha. A flamboyant nose of sumptuous black fruit and a touch of coffee bean leads into a broad palate of great volume and lift, with ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit, firm fleshy tannins, and a fine line of counterbalancing acidity. The oak has been seamlessly suffused. Serious length, with a dry mineral and cola finish. Bottled from 16th to 20th February 2017. 1,147 cases produced. (JS)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $1,500.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Daniel Rion Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Chaumes". On this stalwart Vosne-Romanée producer, the importer notes: "Created in 1955 by Daniel Rion, this family-owned estate began with only two hectares of vines located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, left to Daniel by his paternal grandfather.Today, the domaine consists of eighteen hectares of vineyards with eighteen appellations in six villages of the Côte des Nuits and the Hautes-Côtes: Prémeaux, Nuits Saint Georges, Vosne Romanée, Chambolle Musigny, Vougeot and Marey-les-Fussey. The estate’s old vines, from 25 to 65 years old, were selected for the quality of their fruits: small berries with thick skins that guarantee deeply colored, complex wines with refined tannins. The small output of the estate allows the winemaker to select grapes of great quality, naturally concentrated and balanced."
Starting Bid: $54.00

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (94BH, 93RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This remains quite darkly colored with obviously ripe, borderline aromas that are clearly Vosne in origin with loads of spice and secondary nuances to the black fruit and earth aromas that are followed by sexy, sappy and intense middle weight flavors that culminate in a mineral-infused, sweet and energetic finish that delivers outstanding length. This is sufficiently ripe that it is perhaps not a beacon of terroir but it remains unmistakably Vosne in basic character. This is really quite impressive and to my taste, it has arrived at its peak though one that should hold for a number of years to come. " (05/2014)
