Boutique winery Vinoce continues to impress. Little surprise when you consider their wines are made by much-heralded winemaker Keith Emerson of Vineyard 29! Emerson crafts some of the most highly sought-after cult Cabs in the valley from St. Helena fruit at Vineyard 29, including wines rated at 100-points by Robert Parker himself. Considering that pedigree, Vinoce's St. Helena Cab is very well priced at the regular $60 SRP, but at our Insider's Advantage price of over 50% off, it's just plain ridiculous.

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Winemaker Matt Dees is considered one of the best winemakers anywhere, and this blend is ample reason to believe the hype. Intense, focused and dry but rich aromas of dark fruit, roasted wood, crushed rocks and wild herb enliven the nose, while the palate is weighty yet expertly tense. Flavors of dried red fruit, peppery spice and milk chocolate float into the finish. (MK)" (03/2023) 96 points James Suckling: "The black berry character dominates here but there is plenty of crushed stones as well as orange peel. It’s full-bod...

95 points Decanter: "This Californian version of the Great Australian Blend, combining Cabernet Sauvignon with Shiraz (grown from Penfolds’ South Australian vine cuttings) strikes immediate notes of familiarity. There's its spicy nose and easy harmony on the palate, seamlessly melding savoury comfort over a melange of rich red, blue and black fruit. Each component does its necessary work – the Cabernet bringing chew and texture and Shiraz giving a comforting cuddle until the blackberry grunt returns to deliver a stern final bass note. 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "An earthy, redwood-forest aroma and just-ripe red- and black-cherry flavors give this medium-bodied wine from the “deep end” of Anderson Valley an intriguing, moody effect as a smooth texture and light tannins add hefty touches in the mouthfeel. It's complex and substantive while staying elegant in its overall expression."

96 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Camphor, rose, cedar and ripe red berry aromas come to the forefront on this beautiful Barbaresco. Smooth and elegantly structured, the focused palate features ripe Morello cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and white pepper alongside taut, refined tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it well balanced." (09/2022) 94-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There is a more pronounced mineral and delicately spiced character to the 2019 Barbaresco, with notes of wet asphalt and kirsch and vibrant purity. It has elegant concentration, with fine coiled ...

95 points Vinous: "The 2019 GSM Gabilan Mountains is a dense, powerful wine. Readers will have to cellar this for a year or two to allow the full breadth of its aromatics to emerge. Rose petals, sweet red berry fruit, blood orange and spice start to reveal themselves with some aeration. The 2019 was done with 100% stems and aged in a combination of concrete and neutral oak. In a word: fabulous. (AG)" 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A blend of mourvedre, grenache, and syrah, there’s a whole-cluster, carbonic note to this charming GSM, leading with scents of ...

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Côtes Catalanes Grenache Rhapsody, which was first made in 2017, is winemaker Séverine Bourrier's take on 100% Grenache from the Roussillon (it's released under the Côtes Catalane IGP). I compared the 2017 to a top Châteauneuf du Pape, and unquestionably, that comparison holds with the 2019 as well. It offers a monster bouquet of kirsch liqueur, herbes de Provence, peppered meats, charcuterie, and dried flowers that carries to a full-bodied Grenache with an expansive, layered, seamless texture, silky tannins, no hard edge...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Floral scents and vivid, jammy blackberry and black-pepper flavors highlight this full-bodied, full-on fruity wine as accents of wood smoke and wild sage add a rustic, authentic complexity." 92 points James Suckling: "Rather inviting aromas of cracked black and white pepper, clove and baked plum. Full-bodied with silky tannins. Spicy. Lots happening here. Very savory, but with nice, juicy red and black fruit. Good length, too. Shows restraint. Drink or hold." 91 points Wine Advocate: "Planted to a Brandlin Ranch selection, t...

Celler de l’Encastell is a small family run project that is located in the village of Porrera, in the heart of Priorat. These vineyards are located around the village of Porrera with ideal expositions all with llicorella slate soils. The wine making is simple, their goal is to let fruit and the vineyards shine, not their winemaking. 94+ points Miquel Hudin "Mix of red and dark fruit with a lightly-wild aspect to it, dried ras...

The Stefania Barbot "Fren" Taurasi is a remarkable expression of Aglianico, showcasing the depth and complexity that this renowned varietal can achieve. The nose is rich and inviting, with aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and plum, layered with hints of leather, tobacco, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure with robust tannins and vibrant acidity, highlighting flavors of ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, and a touch of graphite. 94 points Wine Advocate: "The Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo in Isla de Maipo that was introduced in 2018 was also bottled as 2019 Reelegido Vineyard and marked with Lot #110. It was produced with fruit from 65+-year-old vines on alluvial soils with round stones (40-50 centimeters in size). The vineyard produces 1.5 kilos per plant of small bunches. They feel they were more accurate with the harvest date this time to achieve a fresher and more elegant wine with 14.1% alcohol and a pH of 3.47 and 6.14 grams of acidity. As with the majority of wines, it fer...

94 points Wine Advocate: "Like the wine from Valtuille, the Aires de Vendimia Mencía de Corullón has also been renamed and is now the 2019 Corullón Vino de Villa. It showcases the wilder and deeper character of the wines from the slate, quartzite and limestone soils from the slopes of Corullón. It has fine minerality that makes it neatly textured. This fermented in open-top barrels and matured in 500-liter oak barrel for one year. Superb! Only 1,000 bottles were filled in December 2020.
