Bid on this bottle of 1935 Taylor Fladgate "Director's Special Reserve - Richard Saybel selection" Port. "Taylor makes incredible vintage Ports. They are so long-lived, with intense richness and concentration but a racy, polished refinement that no other Port can match. I found the earlier Ports a little sweeter than the newer ones, but Taylor continues to make their vintage Ports from the best grapes in their vineyards (primarily Quinta de Vargellas, but also Quintas Terra Feita and Junco in recent years.) So there is a long line of tradition and pedigree in the wines." James Suckling, Wine Spectator, 11/2007
Starting Bid: $660.00
Bid on this bottle of 1946 Bodegas Toro Albalá "Don PX Convento Selección" Pedro Ximenez Jerez (OWC - 100RP) in original wood. Wine Advocate: "The 1946 Don PX Convento Seleccion produced with Pedro Ximenez grapes dehydrated under the sun at the time of the Second World War, was only bottled in September 2011. This is an extreme wine, my first descriptor was ultra-mega-super concentrated. It is unbelievably powerful, both in the nose and the palate, full of umami, with sweet cinnamon, Christmas cake, camphor, petrol, lemongrass, Belgian chocolate and butter. Incredibly complex and rich, sweet, balanced and smooth in the palate, it is both very sweet and somehow salty, and with time it develops a black olive note. It combines the texture of the 1962 and the elegance of the 1949. It is as decadent as it gets. 825 bottles were produced. This wine will survive all of us. (LG)" (08/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 1970 Warre's Vintage Port (1.5L) (91JS). James Suckling: "Surprisingly delicate and fruity at this stage. Ready to drink with a lightly sweet fruit, raspberry, and dark berry character and a bright acidity." (12/2010)
Starting Bid: $140.00
Bid on this 6-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of Taylor 20-year-old Tawny Port (93RP, 91JG), 1-bottle of 1975 Dow's Vintage Port, 1-bottle of 1977 Ferreira Vintage Port, 1-bottle of 1980 Warre's Vintage Port (95JD), 1-bottle of 1983 Hooper's Vintage Port, and 1-bottle of 1985 Taylor Vintage Port (93JG, 93WS, 91VN). Of the 1980 Warre's Vintage Port, Jeb Dunnuck writes: "The 1980 Vintage Port is another sensational release in the Vineyard Brands portfolio. A full-bodied, concentrated, yet also elegant Port, it gives up classic notes of tobacco leaf, olive, cedary spice, and loads of ripe black fruits. While it’s fully mature and I suspect drinking at point, it’s perfectly balanced and just glides across the palate. There’s no need to delay gratification, but it’s going to keep for another 10-15 years as well." (03/2018)
Current Bid: $410.00
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1997 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port (93WS). Wine Spectator: "On the darker side of the spectrum, with Turkish coffee and licorice root notes leading the way, while the core of black currant, ganache and sticky toffee pudding waits in reserve. A tarry edge drives the finish, with a whiff of singed walnut lending cut at the very end.--1997 Vintage Port retrospective (January 2017). (JM, Web Only-2017)"
Current Bid: $161.12
Bid on this bottle of 1977 Taylor Vintage Port (98VN, 97WS, 96RP, 95WE, 93JG). Vinous: "The 1977 Taylor's Vintage Port is initially tight and conservative on the nose: strawberry, baked cherry, tobacco and wild hedgerow notes emerging but remaining tight-lipped. This needs a good decant! The palate is endowed with depth and concentration, very well balanced with an attractive crispness. Perhaps you could argue that it is a 'linear' and more 'correct' Taylor's compared to the 1970 and lacks some charm. But there is immense complexity here so it is more a case of a Port demanding a very long maturation in bottle. (NM)" (06/2018)
Current Bid: $137.26
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Taylor Vintage Port (98RP, 96WE, 95VN, 95WS, 94JG, 93DC). Wine Advocate: "At present it offers very pure blackberry, mulberry, and a touch of smoke...not giving much away at the moment but surely destined to down the line. The palate is very refined, very pure with svelte tannins with ebullient ripe red fruits laced with tobacco, nutmeg and white pepper. Long and caressing on the finish, this should evolve into a masterful Taylor’s Vintage. (NM)" (07/2011)
Starting Bid: $130.00
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1977 Dow's Vintage Port (97JS, 93RP, 92WS). James Suckling: "This is really glorious and refined, offering a polished and creamy texture. Complex aromas and flavors with cream, dried fruit and nuts. Medium body. Very beautiful. A refined and glorious 1977 now. Real deal. " (01/2017)
Current Bid: $309.00
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Warre's Vintage Port (97W&S, 96DC, 96JS, 96WE, 96WS, (93-95RP), 93VN). Wine & Spirits: "Half of the lot for this wine comes from the Quinta da Cavadinha, Warre’s property on the western bank of the Pinhão River, a relatively cool site facing east. The balance is from Retiro, in the Rio Torto and Telhada, a property in the Douro Superior the Symingtons purchased in 2006. Old-vine mixed plantings make up 40 percent of the blend, lending it the kind of co-fermented complexity that makes this compellingly drinkable, delicious right now, as it will be for at least the next 20 or 30 years. Its graceful, reserved finish lasts with drive, a blend of green olive, blueberry skin, purple and blackberry flavors layered over the scent of roses, esteva, black pepper and the wild Douro scrub. If you’re looking to fall in love with Port, you could start here." (12/2013)
Current Bid: $150.00
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1977 Warre's Vintage Port (94JS, 93WS, 92RP). James Suckling: "The Warre was beautiful now. It showed lots of dried fruits and Christmas cake character on the nose and palate. Medium sweet. It was full-bodied with loads of flavor and an intensely flavorful finish. It was perfect to drink. " (06/2016)
Current Bid: $216.00
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Fonseca Vintage Port (100WS, 98DC, 97RP). Wine Spectator: "Hold on to your hat. This is the best Fonseca since 1977, and it's probably even better than that classic vintage--more like the breathtaking 1948. Mind-blowing, with masses of color, aroma and fruit flavor. Smells like fermenting berries, boasting loads of crushed grape, violet and berry character. Big, full-bodied and very sweet, with tons of tannins and a sweet finish. Tannic and huge, it's a long-term, great Port. *No. 1 Top 100 Wines of 1997, Cellar Selection* (JS)" (04/1997)
