In 1973, Daniel Dugois bought 2 hectares of vineyard and a house equipped with wine cellars in a village called Les Arsures, where he was born. He cultivated the vineyard and sold his production primarily to Henri Maire, one of the most prominent producers in Jura at that time. In 1982, Daniel made his first harvest in his own cellars and began to sell his wines to consumers. His first ever harvest earned him his first Gold Medal for his Chardonnay at the Jura Wine Contest. Daniel and his wife Monique have continued to work on the quality of their wines ...

It is rare to find a very mature classed-growth Sauternes for such a price. This château has been quietly producing classic stickies alongside its more famous neighbors for decades. Oak aged, and very lightly filtered, this would be a tremendous birthday bottle.

98 points Wine Advocate: "The NV Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark brown/amber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer. (RP)" (11/2015) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the world's best PX wines is Solera 1927, the pride of Alvear. Whatever solera stocks went into this bottling...

97 points Vinous: "The 1959 Suduiraut is a vintage that I have been fortunate to have met three times before and mark my words, this is one of the greatest the château has ever produced. Deep amber in color, it has a striking bouquet with intense aromas of orange pith, quince jus, Clementine and beeswax that just bursts from the glass and frankly, overshadows anything produced until the 21st century. The palate is scintillating: intense and clean botrytised honeyed fruit, a razor-sharp line of acidity that keeps this on its toes. There is something so cr...

95 points James Halliday: "Blended from wines aged for a decade or more in oak (up to 15 years). Fabulous concentration here, as per the house style, while also establishing real elegance and spirit freshness. It's a fine balance to achieve and it's quite effortless in nougat, orange peel, raisin freshness with dark chocolate and creamy caramels. Long, unwavering finish. *Gold* (JP) " (08/2022)

96 points Wine & Spirits: "A PX from ten-year-old soleras, this is deliciously creamy. It combines raisined grape flavors with scents of figs and chestnuts, while subtle acidity plays in the background. The complexity develops further in the glass, building toward notes of chocolate, cinnamon and exotic spices." (10/2013) 90 points Wine Advocate: "The NV El Candado Pedro Ximenez, produced from sun-dried Pedro Ximenez grapes for two weeks, and aged in a solera for an average of 8-10 years, is bottled with 400 grams of sugar and 17% alcohol. Mahogany col...

94 points Vinous: "The 2011 Billet Doux, Morlet's Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc sweet wine from a site in Alexander Valley, is terrific. Then again, the cool, rainy vintage provided optimal conditions for achieving rot in the vineyard, which gave growers fits with the reds, but was a positive here. Orange peel, burnt sugar, apricot jam, coconut and tropical frits honey and wild flowers are all beautifully delineated in the glass. Ample, rich and super-expressive, the Billet Doux is superb today. The 2011 has 95 grams of residual sugar, but tastes and feels qu...

2021 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points Jane Anson: "A great example of this always-arresting dry white, with a ton of soft apple blossom aromatics, before drawing inwards to show scraping acidity, powerful white peach, quince, apricot and citrus flavours with a twist of lime juice, fennel and a salty tang of oyster shell and salted crackers. Has the richness, complexity and concentration that you find in Yquem, and although it won't have quite the same longevity, there is no issue with keeping this wine for 15 to 20 years. 7g/l of residual sugar, mainly from the Sémillon that is pic...

94 points Wine & Spirits: "Although most Sherry producers offer PX wines, there is, in fact, very little pedro ximénez planted in Jerez, Sanlúcar and El Puerto. Most of the vines are in Montilla-Moriles, where the grapes can produce both super-sweet and concentrated wines, as well as Finos that are both very dry and very ripe. This Oloroso, aged more than 30 years in botas, is intensely saline and earthy, with complex nutty flavors. It is very dry, yet generous and ripe, a vibrant wine that would go well with braised lamb." (10/2015) 92 points Wine Adv...

92 points Wine & Spirits: "This is a selection from botas of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez raised separately and then blended to age for three years in solera. The result puts the sweetness of the PX in front, with flavors of plum jam and tobacco. The salinity of the Oloroso brings freshness and fine minerality that play softly in the background. " (06/2011) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a ripe, honeyed style of Sherry with deep brown sugar and cinnamon aromas. Its solid palate is under control and not syrupy, tapering into brown sugar and fig flavor...

The German Family named Kopke came from Hamburg to Lisbon in 1636. Two years later, in 1638, Christiano Kopke established himself in Oporto, as merchant and exporter of Portuguese products, and he started the export of Portuguese wines already produced in the region, as part of his business. When the Wine - then known as Portwine - was recognized, the House of Kopke which is today the oldest Portwine's export firm, was one of the leaders in the field. Through many generations, the company was run by several members of Kopke's family, obtaining an excelle...

95 points James Suckling: " To anyone who knows British Christmas pudding, the dense flavors of dried fruit, burnt sugar and spices will be nothing new. However, the sheer density of flavor will be something new to many, as will the stunning acidity at the finish. " (08/2018) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Ripe aromas of apricot, raisin and chocolate offer complex notes of dried cheese and sweat, making this anything but usual and normal. A jacked palate is racy and untamed, with bright acidity that's uncommon for wines this sweet. Chocolate, cinnamon, nu...

Enormously complex, toasted and caramelized nuts, married to wonderful creaminess that is all lit up by acidity that’s so supernaturally vibrant that you barely realize this has any sweetness. Very long, subtle and uplifting finish. Drink now." (12/2018) 95 points Decanter: "Layers of mouthwatering flavours; dried fruits, peanut brittle, cream caramel, coffee, cedar and a beautifully luscious texture with freshness, lift and a long, rich finish. *Gold Medal Decanter World Wine Awards 2018*" (04...

This is one of the all time classic cream sherries. It has an unforgetable label, that definitely speaks of the time when cream sherry dominated the market. Sweet and delicious, just like grandma liked. It is also balanced and not cloying. This is a classic that will challenge your expectations, and we are grateful for that. This is and it is not your grandmas cream sherry.

Niepoort 10 Year Old White Port
Back In Stock!
93 points Wine Advocate: "93+ points "The NV 10 Years Old White Port bottled in 2023 has a peachy nose intermixed with some nutty and spirity hints. It has concentration and power, with a classical style and was aged in an oxidative way that gives it plenty of nutty notes and with the extract from the contact with the skins. This is a fairly recent wine, because they didn't have enough stock of white Port. They wanted to show that white Port could be a serious wine, not something to make a fresh drink, with structure, complexity and age. It has 20% alcoh...

From the iconic port producers upriver from Porto in the Duoro region of Portugal, and a Certified B Corporation. Tasting notes from the producer: "STYLE: White Heights is a fragrant, high-grade, slightly drier white port produced from the top 10% of grapes from the high-altitude vineyards of the Favaios sub-region of the Douro Valley, giving it more acidity, freshness, and lift than other white ports. TASTING NOTES: Fresh tropical fruit flavours such as papaya and pineapple lead the way, supported by light aromas of honeysuckle. Crisp yellow plum and pe...

97 points The Wine Independent: "The 2021 d'Yquem is composed of 65% Sémillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc. It has 148 grams per liter of residual sugar, making for a relatively rich style and the sweetest Yquem since 2017. Pale lemon-gold colored, perfumed notes of orange peel, juicy peaches, grapefruit, and honeycomb slowly emerge from the glass, followed by suggestions of jasmine tea, fresh ginger, and lime blossoms. The palate is fantastically satiny, with great tension and loads of spicy sparks complementing the citrusy flavors, finishing with epic lengt...

Despite the extra weight and sweetness, it's not cloying at all the finish is mouthwatering and long. *Editors' Choice* (JC)" (11/2006) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Nutty aromas and flavors are filled with buttery notes in this plush and sweet style. Sweet wines from the French Pyrenees are often overlooked but they provide incredible value. La Magendia is a blend of mostly Gros Manseng and some Petit Manseng. Depending on vintage this finishes with about 60-70g/L of residual sugar but with so much brilliant acidity the wines never come off as cloying or overly sweet.

El Maestro Sierra was founded in 1830 by master cooper José Antonio Sierra, who ran a prosperous barrel-building business called La Merced. Recognized as one of the top coopers in the area, he longed to become involved in the Sherry trade itself. Eventually, he set about building a small winery with the aim of making the best sherries possible. Pilar Pla Pechovierto, the current owner of El Maestro Sierra since 1976, is a brave and resolute woman who managed to drive the business forward despite the prevailing machismo of the time. David Schildknecht writes in Wine Advocate: "Part of the Advini Group, Domaine Cazes has local roots that trace back to the 19th century. Of course, that heritage includes a lengthy history of producing sweet fortified wines; an extensive back library is available for purchase from the estate. The domaine farms 220 hectares biodynamically, producing some stylish, modern dry wines as well as the traditional fortifieds." (01/2014)

96 points Wine & Spirits: "The wines that make up this Palo Cortado have an average age of more than 25 years. Originally, it was aged in Calle Ponce in the city of Jerez; hence the initials still printed on the label. During aging, the wine is refreshed with Fino Inocente and Amontillado Tío Diego, two other top bottlings in Valdespino’s portfolio. The end result is a wine that smells smoky and rich in caramelized flavor, but tastes dry to the bone; all those ripe flavors become the purest mineral impressions. A sense of chalky albariza soil floods the ...

The sleek finish lets the green tea edge reemerge, with well-embedded acidity for length. Drink now. (JM)" (10/2013) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Smooth and sweet, like a cream Sherry is supposed to be. On the nose, this one easily shifts from ripe apricot and peach fruit to nuts and saline. 95 points Wine Advocate: "The NV Don Gonzalo Oloroso 20 Anos VOS, produced with Palomino grapes from the Carrascal vineyards, is fermented in stainless steel and aged for over 20 years in oak botas. It is a very serious Oloroso, even if it’s not totally dry. It offers bitter almonds, hazelnuts, incense, Cuban cigar ash, and dark chocolate as well as a complex, a very intense, round and ample palate. This wine really fills your mouth. Very intense and with great acidity, it represents very good value for the quality it delivers. A tamed beast. I’ve often ...

Muscat de Beaumes de Venise is undoubtedly the best of all the Muscat wines made in Southern France, and Durban is considered the best estate. The color is dark amber, with a very powerful nose of old wood, candied fruit and walnuts. The sharpness of the palate is somehow balanced by an off-dry feeling which makes it very drinkable. (LG)" (08/2013) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "These soleras, believed to be more than 300 years old, were purchased from the Duke of Medinacelli in 1835. Mid-amber colour with gently lifted, spiced walnut aromas and just a whiff of leather. Wonderfully crisp (8.3 g/l total acidity) yet savoury flavours, seemingly dry with a hint of sultana and crystalised fruit on a long, racy yet delicately toasted finish. Mid-amber hue with gently smoked, yet rich savoury-spicy aromas – quite seductive and evocative. Lovely Elvas plum and quince marmalade richness with a spicy backdrop, balanced by fresh appley acidity. The long finish is akin to a gently cinnamon-spiced tarte tatin.
