The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon have lived at Highclere Castle since 1679. Today, their gin reflects many of the botanicals grown in the Castle's herb gardens - originally planted in the 9th century by the Bishops of Winchester. This London Dry gin has a beautiful balance of juniper, lime flower, orange peel, and just a touch of lavender. Lovely with Tonic and a lemon peel or squeeze of lime or as the base in any classic gin cocktail. It's tough to go wrong at our new pricing.

Aberlour 11 Year Old "Hart Brothers Finest Collection" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength First Fill Sherry Butt Unchillfiltered Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $100) (Previously $100)
Top Pick!
A rare independently bottled Aberlour, made that much more unusual by its maturation in a first fill sherry butt. The Aberlour distillery sits on the edge of its namesake, a gorgeous little hamlet right at the center of the Speyside region. The distillery seems tiny from the outside, but the malt here packs a punch. Founded in 1879 by James Fleming, it's become a pillar of the Chivas family in the last two decades since the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard purchased the distillery. Outfitted with 4 stills in the early 70s, it can produce nearly 4 milli...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This limited-edition apple brandy offers big, rounded stone fruit and fresh apple integrated with palate-coating vanilla, almond and honey, finishing long with zingy ginger, cinnamon and clove. Overall, a good balance of fruit and oak, suited for sipping or mixing. Aged in French ex-Chardonnay barrels, the producer bills this as the 'longest-aged domestic apple brandy available anywhere.'" (10/2017) K&L Notes: A stunning find, this confusingly named brandy is actually a 21-year-old apple brandy distilled from 100% California...

Bardstown Bourbon Company "Discovery Series #9" Blended Whiskey (750ml) (Previously $120) (Previously $120)
Top Pick!
Disco #9 is here and K&L has exclusive first rights to sell it in California. Aptly named, the series has always been about unique combinations of whiskies that are impeccably blended to maximize deliciousness. They often include rare ingredients in unusual combinations, but they always taste amazing. The 9th edition features a backbone built on a mysterious 8 year old Georgia produced Bourbon with a unique four-grain mashbill: corn 80%, wheat 10% / rye 5% / malted barley 5%. This makes up 35% of the blend. The next largest component is 12 year old KY Bo...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A honey hue and rich vanilla aroma mark this six-year-old rye whiskey. The palate nods to its 100% rye grain mash bill, opening with brisk cinnamon and allspice sparks that round into mellower vanilla and caramel midpalate, finishing long and spiced. Adding water brings more vanilla to the fore and adds a toasted grain note to the finish. *Top 100 Spirits of 2019* (KN)" (09/2019) Whisky Advocate: "A lively nose with scents of orange peel, wild strawberries, pepper spice, and herbal tea. The palate is equally out there, with old-fashioned fabric Band-Aids, bladderwrack seaweed, black pepper, smoldering peat, vanilla, caramel, and sweet oak. The finish is as big as everything else, with barbecue, iodine, and asphalt. Still a classic! Dalmore 10 Year Old "Hart Brothers Finest Collection" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength First Fill Sherry Butt Unchillfiltered Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $75) (Previously $75)
Top Pick!
Dalmore is one of those malts that will forever be controversial. They've made a name for themselves selling old sherry barrels at astronomical prices, but we rarely see the malt bottled as single barrel or at cask strength. When we do come across the odd independent bottling, it's almost always in second or third fill barrels destined otherwise for some big-name blend and while those can be lovely whiskies, they simply don't capture the essence of The Dalmore like you might expect. That is, of course, because the brand has become synonymous with sherry ...

Whisky Advocate: "Roasted nuts, honey, vanilla, dried cherry, plum, citrus peel, and white pepper on the nose, but the fruit is somewhat restrained. Initially, there are flavors of fruit chews and tangy citrus peel as the cask-strength alcohol peaks, falling back to reveal flavors of honey, marzipan fruits, apple, and nutmeg, with candied peel on the dry spiced finish. A splash of water brings out sweet butterscotch candies and stone fruits with the citrus peel. (Spring 2024, JM)"

This foray into rye whiskey sticks close to Elijah Craig’s bourbon roots by using only the minimum-required 51% rye in its formulation; however, it does achieve a nice departure in flavor.
