Aberlour 11 Year Old "Hart Brothers Finest Collection" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength First Fill Sherry Butt Unchillfiltered Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $100) (Previously $100)
Top Pick!
A rare independently bottled Aberlour, made that much more unusual by its maturation in a first fill sherry butt. The Aberlour distillery sits on the edge of its namesake, a gorgeous little hamlet right at the center of the Speyside region. The distillery seems tiny from the outside, but the malt here packs a punch. Founded in 1879 by James Fleming, it's become a pillar of the Chivas family in the last two decades since the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard purchased the distillery. Outfitted with 4 stills in the early 70s, it can produce nearly 4 milli...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This limited-edition apple brandy offers big, rounded stone fruit and fresh apple integrated with palate-coating vanilla, almond and honey, finishing long with zingy ginger, cinnamon and clove. Overall, a good balance of fruit and oak, suited for sipping or mixing. Aged in French ex-Chardonnay barrels, the producer bills this as the 'longest-aged domestic apple brandy available anywhere.'" (10/2017) K&L Notes: A stunning find, this confusingly named brandy is actually a 21-year-old apple brandy distilled from 100% California...

Blanton's Straight From The Barrel Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (700ml)(European Import)
Top Pick!
From Buffalo Trace Distillery, Blanton's holds the distinction of being the world's first regularly released single-barrel bourbon. This exceptional brand was launched in 1984 and named for the legendary leaders of that historic distillery outside of Frankfurt, Albert B. Blanton. The brand, which is produced and distributed by Sazerac at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, is owned by the previous owners of the distillery, a Japanese company called Age International. Over the last several years, Blanton's has become one of the most sought-after and inaccessibl...

It seems like forever since we've had 20+ year old blue chip distilleries on the docket for a reasonable price. It's getting harder and harder to secure these casks, and this one is a veritable coup. Distilled in June of 2000 and bottled in October of 2022, this 22 year old beauty is finally on our shores. Aged in a refill Hogshead, this is all about the spirit and time. Elegant, leathery, briny, sweet barley, and chock full of that lovely peat that only really comes with long years in cask. Bottled without chill filtration or coloring at its natural cas...

Made by the iconic bitters producers, the Angostura Amaro is a celebration of herbal-focused spirits. From Drinkspirits.com: "Amaro Di Angostura (35% ABV, $24.99) – dark amber brown in color, Amaro di Angostura is almost identical in color to Angostura bitters, perhaps a half shade lighter. The nose is also unmistakably Angostura, leading with nutmeg and cardamom. Behind these initial spices is solid dry bitter orange peel, licorice, black pepper, and cinnamon bark. This exceptional little mezcal bridges two agave world's in one sweet little package. Laphroaig 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $50) (Previously $50)
Top Pick!
92 points Whisky Advocate: "This expression offers an uncompromising note of brine-laden peat and iodine, with charcoal and sweeter fruit notes also present. The palate is equally out there, with old-fashioned fabric Band-Aids, bladderwrack seaweed, black pepper, smoldering peat, vanilla, caramel, and sweet oak. The finish is as big as everything else, with barbecue, iodine, and asphalt. Still a classic! (GS, Fall 2018)" 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Look for a distinctly peaty aroma, with hints of smoked fish, bacon and mesquite. The palate shows peat sm...

The amazing Cortes family should be considered mezcal royalty. Located outside the village of Mengoli de Morelos, the kind, young son Ageo learned from his father Felipe and began distilling at 17. Third and fourth generation mezcaleros, they cultivate many varietals in the rich Miahuatlan soils, where it seems every plant grows faster and bigger than elsewhere in Oaxaca. The rolling hills, cut through by streams and rivers, provide the perfect environment for agave to thrive.

Whisky Advocate: "This is really intriguing, with the vitality of fresh green shoots in spring, fresh-mown lawns, snow peas, pencil shavings, dragon fruit, beet chips, and the exotic scents of a spice market. The taste is gentle with lime, herbal notes, cream soda, generous buttery caramel, and some boisterous spices that loiter into the finish. Dalmore 10 Year Old "Hart Brothers Finest Collection" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength First Fill Sherry Butt Unchillfiltered Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $75) (Previously $75)
Top Pick!
Dalmore is one of those malts that will forever be controversial. They've made a name for themselves selling old sherry barrels at astronomical prices, but we rarely see the malt bottled as single barrel or at cask strength. When we do come across the odd independent bottling, it's almost always in second or third fill barrels destined otherwise for some big-name blend and while those can be lovely whiskies, they simply don't capture the essence of The Dalmore like you might expect. That is, of course, because the brand has become synonymous with sherry ...

Whisky Advocate: "Roasted nuts, honey, vanilla, dried cherry, plum, citrus peel, and white pepper on the nose, but the fruit is somewhat restrained. Initially, there are flavors of fruit chews and tangy citrus peel as the cask-strength alcohol peaks, falling back to reveal flavors of honey, marzipan fruits, apple, and nutmeg, with candied peel on the dry spiced finish. Jim McEwan: "Colour - Stunning Medium Amber/ Honey Aromas - It’s the smoke, the oak, the Ocean, the Islay grown barley, the understated power that makes nosing this spirit a joy to behold. You are transported to Islay immediately, welcome to my homeland! It opens on a marine freshness in harmony with the sweetness of toasted barley and just a hint of spice from the bourbon residue in the oak. Jim McEwan: "Aromas - It’s an irresistible mellow mature aroma. The sweet fruity aromatics from the Sauternes-soaked staves has created a halo that embraces the sweetness of malted barley. Add the natural aromatics of an Island in the Atlantic Ocean where the casks lay sleeping for 15 years at the water’s edge. The crispness of the toasted barley in harmony with the oak work beautifully ensuring that the wine influence is not dominating the natural aromas allowing the Islay character to shine through beautifully.
