Ketzer Lager is a Franconian inspired Helles, a style that has long been close to our hearts. Striving to reflect the pure balance, nuance, and quality found in this traditional style, Ketzer is brewed with German Pilsner malt, just a kiss of Vienna and Light Munich and hopped with selected Perle, Hallertau Mittelfrüh, and Saphir hops. With our new LICHTENHAINER WEISSE (10.9°P), we want to revive the almost extinct sour beer tradition of Jena. We followed the definition of this old Thuringian beer style and have brewed a tangy, top-fermented beer with a slightly sour yet smoky taste and a light yellow color. The result is a light, easy-drinking beer with a velvety-soft acidity and a subtle smoky character. It is reminiscent of a beautiful summer evening around the bonfire.
