Sadly, Zinke winery closed up during the Covid 19 pandemic. However, lucky for us we took a position on many of their wines and can offer them at exceptional pricing! Like this absolutely delicious Grenache based rose for $4 per can...that's just $8 per 750ml bottle equivalent! The rose has a very light, subtle, salmon-pink hue, fresh aromas and flavors of spiced citrus peel, alpine strawberry, blood orange and grapefruit. A screaming deal! I've been drinking this wine several times per week ever since it hit our shelves...it's fantastic. (Ryan Woodhouse...

I first "discovered" the wines of Pennrose at the Shades of Shake Ridge event a few years back and have been a huge fan ever since. Husband and wife team Mike and Ria both have other "day jobs" in the wine business, Mike as winemaker at the inimitable Green & Red in Chiles Valley high above Napa. And Ria at McEvoy Ranch in the hills just outside of Petaluma. The Pennrose wines have wonderful purity and elegance. Never high in alcohol of extraction, these are vibrant food friendly wines with clarity and sense of place. I highly recommend checking them out...

93 points Vinous: "The 2019 Grenache (Santa Barbara County) is a blend from various sites in the appellation. Bright and effusive, the Santa Barbara Grenache is particularly expressive. All the elements are so complementary. Blood orange, mint, spice and star anise lend gorgeous nuance. Bright acids and a spine of tannin make this far more than an entry-level offering. 94 points Vinous: "Glistening scarlet. Assertively perfumed red fruit liqueur, cherry, exotic spice and succulent herb aromas show superb definition and a subtle medicinal quality. Shows very good depth and velvety texture, offering sappy raspberry, medicinal cherry and candied lavender flavors that betray no rough edges. Lingers with outstanding tenacity on the finish, which features rounded tannins and resonating florality. Made from a blend of wines that are made from air-dried grapes from the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages. Note that this wine is...

2019 Allbaer "Le Retour - Caelestra Vineyard" Paso Robles Grenache
New!
Alex Baer, proprietor, and winemaker for Allbaer has one of the more impressive resumes you'll ever come across. He got his start working in the Barossa Valley on South Australia working at Elderton winery. Elderton have some of the the oldest Shiraz vines in the region dating back to the 1860s. Upon returning to his home in Paso Robles he then worked for Guillaume Fabre of L'Aventure and Clos Selene. Next it was off to Napa Valley to work at Realm with Benoit Touquette, and then the icing on the cake, his dream job working at Sine Qua Non with Manfred K...

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Grenache 2 2 Tango is terrific. A blend of 76% Grenache, 15% Graciano, and the rest Syrah, sourced from multiple sites throughout the Central Coast (mostly Ballard Canyon), it has a cool, lively, incredibly elegant style to go with textbook Grenache notes of red and blue fruits, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence. It has fabulous purity of fruit, and I’m a fan. Drink bottles over the coming 7-8 years." (09/2021)

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are two Grenache releases. First, the 2019 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard comes from a site in Ballard Canyon and was destemmed and aged in 25% new French oak. Its ruby/translucent color is followed by a pretty, perfumed, medium-bodied Grenache offering supple tannins, wonderful purity, and notes of herbes de Provence, white pepper, and both red and black fruits. Seemingly part Grenache and part Pinot Noir, this seamless effort will keep for 7-8 years."
