2018 Thomas Fogarty Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (Elsewhere $38) (Elsewhere $38)
Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This winery makes some of the more exciting wines in California right now, and this appellation blend offers a more affordable look at the style. Aromas of black raspberry, thyme, lavender and rose petals lead into a taut, energetic and expansive palate of fresh fruit and flower flavors. Brisk acidity pumps to the finish. *Editors’ Choice* (MK)" (07/2021)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fleshy aromas of poached nectarine and white peach coverage with salted butter and light honeysuckle on the nose of this bottling. It's broad with jasmine and peach flavors on the palate, yet with a twinge of lemony acidity and a nutty savory tone toward the finish. (MK)" (09/2021)
Price: $29.95

2018 Tessier "Saveria Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (Elsewhere $50+) (Elsewhere $50+)
Top Pick!
96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Very light in the glass, this vibrant and complex wine shows rose petal, potpourri, tart plum flesh and tomato skin on the stunning nose. The palate is dynamic as well, blending sagebrush and Kalamata olive flavors with raspberry, rose petal and the warm rush of strawberry. It exhibits layers for days. (MK)" (01/2021)

Just two barrels of this Pinot Noir were made, but two delicious barrels they are! From a small family vineyard in the coastal town of Aptos looking out over the Monterey Bay. This is classic, cool climate Pinot Noir with crunchy red fruit, plenty of forest floor, hard ground spices, rose petal and tree bark. Vibrant and lithe on the palate with some nice whole cluster spice and lift. Really well made Pinot Noir from a producer I had not seen before, but was very impressed with. Sourced from one block on Ridge's Klein Ranch, this is typically a full-throttle, rich Merlot with plenty of aging capability.
Price: $49.99

94 points James Suckling: "A beautiful, fresh red with blackberry, blueberry and some chocolate. Pine, light toffee and coffee undertones. Dried herbs, too. Medium to full body with intensity and richness. Dusty tannins. Savory finish." (03/2021) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Intense aromas of blackberry and cassis meet with smoked meats, strong oak and light herbs on the toasty, layered nose of this bottling, which includes 21% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Chipped wood flavors decorate the dark-fruit and roasted herb core of the palate. (MK)" (10/2021) ...
Price: $34.95

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "A transparent red in the glass, this bottling is loaded with aromas of incense, juniper and pine needle—much like a walk through the coastal forests - yet offers tart and crisp cranberry and raspberry fruit tones as well. The forest floor and freshly snapped pine flavors are delicious on the palate, where that crisp red fruit keeps begging for recurrent attention. (MK)" (03/2021) 17-18 points Jancis Robinson: "Scents of forest floor and chopped herbs. In the mouth, raspberry and cherry flavours are heavily scented with chopp...
