97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Villa Bucci defines the greatness of the Verdicchio grape and the fact that it can age for many years. The 2018 continues this estate's streak of making amazing wine. This wine opens with a subtle note of salt pan, oyster shell and dried lemon zest. As the wine evolves more green apple notes develop. If you love Chablis, this is a wine for you. The palate is textured, layered and complex with minerality at its core and the lemon and apple flavors just standing guard. Drink now–2040. *Cellar Selection* (JP)" (07/2023) 91 poin...

Blanc de blancs from Bouzy? Yes--and what a blanc de blancs it is! This single-varietal, single-vineyard, single-harvest Champagne comes entirely from the Les Motellettes parcel which was planted in 1961. Quentin Paillard, his brother and his father all wanted to make terroir Champagne from their best, oldest plots--the very plots that they use to propagate the massal selections for the rest of their vineyard. This Chardonnay has understated power and is perhaps the most subtle, complex young Champagne that I have ever had. We only managed to get one cas...

93 points Vinous: "White flowers and chamomile give way to freshly sliced apple, crushed almond and stone as the 2018 Fiano di Avellino Riserva Erre slowly awakens. This coats the entire palate in silken richness, yet it maintains perfect poise, as mineral-tinged stone fruits give way to brown spice under an air of pretty inner florals. There’s an almost-crunchy feel to the finale, yet also a balanced inner sweetness combined with residual acids that creates a sense of total harmony, as hints of lime and melon slowly taper off. The Erre is a single-viney...

In 1973, Daniel Dugois bought 2 hectares of vineyard and a house equipped with wine cellars in a village called Les Arsures, where he was born. He cultivated the vineyard and sold his production primarily to Henri Maire, one of the most prominent producers in Jura at that time. In 1982, Daniel made his first harvest in his own cellars and began to sell his wines to consumers. His first ever harvest earned him his first Gold Medal for his Chardonnay at the Jura Wine Contest. Daniel and his wife Monique have continued to work on the quality of their wines...

94 points Wine Advocate: "I had not tasted the Subtil for a long time; 2013 was the last with Chardonnay, and they didn't produce 2014; and in 2015, they changed to 100% Xarel.lo refermented with organic must. The 2018 Subtil is from the vineyard Finca Serral del Roure, which has a little more clay and a tendency to produce a rounder wine. It has 11.5% alcohol with very good freshness, reflecting a cooler year, and there is some spiciness and a yeasty touch with a medicinal and balsamic twist and a very tasty finish, almost salty, long, lively and with a...

abaj (Ka-bye) have farmed their vineyards for many generations. When Katja Kabaj met French oenologist Jean-Michel Morel after his stint at an Italian winery, they fell in love and eventually married. Jean-Michel brought some of those Italian and French sensibilities to the winery along with his fondness for working with amphorae. Those who have tasted Kabaj whites know that these wine range from light to full skin contact for the whites and the Rebula is probably one of their most noteworthy. It is aged for 30 days on the skin and then for about a year ...

93 points Decanter: "Chris Alheit is known for his diverse array of old vine Chenins from vineyards across the Cape but this white blend is a little different. He describes it thus: ‘One wine, one place, a few different grapes.’ Essentially it’s the product of a single vineyard planted in 2010 with Roussanne, Chenin, Chardonnay, Verdelho and Muscat. The resulting wine is fresh and creamy with tropical fruit and fynbos on the nose and an exotic plate of pineapple chunks and bruised pear. Textured with a tense, high-acid finish." Monica Larner of Wine Advocate writes: "The exciting news to report is that Salvatore is now offering two wines from his new estate on Etna, Rocca Coeli. Home base remains the Faro appellation with breathtaking views over the Strait of Messina from mountain-hugging vineyards at 600 meters above sea level (and just 1.5 kilometers from the beach). This site is planted to a crazy mix of indigenous grapes (Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera, Acitana, Galatena, Jacché and Core 'e Palumba) and enjoys very steep temperature drops between day and night...

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Subtle, complex and elegant, this refined wine offers an intricate array of crisp lemons and limes against light toast and bread dough accents. Most of all, a vibrant yet polished texture makes it a pleasure to sip. *Editors' Choice* (JG)" (12/2022) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Delightfully expressive and detailed in structure, this bubbly bursts with aromas of Asian pear, yeast roll and spice and slowly unfurls with notes of fresh ginger and green apple. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. (TF)" (12/2022) 90 points James Suckling: "...

96 points James Suckling: "Mineral, macadamia, pine nuts, white sesame and white fruit with a touch of spice. A bright and linear Capellania that shows excellent tension, freshness and complexity. Long and appetizing finish. More taut and gastronomic now. 100% viura. Drink now or hold." (08/2023) 95 points Tim Atkin: "The cooler 2018 vintage was ideally suited to the production of high-quality whites like this pure Viura from a six-hectare plateau at 485 metres within the extensive Castillo Ygay estate. Modern, perfumed and poised, it has finely integr...

Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2018 Raventós i Blanc "de Nit" Rosé Conca del Riu Anoia. Luis Gutierrez writes: "Raventós i Blanc has purchased a new estate in Montmell, in the Serra de l’Home Mountains in Baix Penedès, where they are going to produce their still wines under the Can Sumoi label. And Pepe Raventós presents his own personal project—Mas del Serral, sparkling wines aged in bottle for 100 months. So Raventós i Blanc is now 100% dedicated to traditionally producing sparkling wines from Mediterranean varieties, mostly from their own 60 hectares of vineyards around a small hill in the Penedès zone they call Conca del Riu Anoia, the Anoia River. Their vineyards are now biodynamic and certified by Demeter. They only buy some grapes from local growers for their Blanc de Blancs."

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the whites of the vintage is the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc, a gorgeous, rich, layered effort that stays perfectly balanced and pure. Classic notes of white flowers, honeysuckle, white peach, and ample minerality all give way to a medium to full-bodied white that has loads of texture, good freshness, and a great finish. This is a brilliant Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc that makes a mockery of so many of the overly lean, fresh, so called elegant whites being produced today." (08/2019) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Bright, wit...
