97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Villa Bucci defines the greatness of the Verdicchio grape and the fact that it can age for many years. The 2018 continues this estate's streak of making amazing wine. This wine opens with a subtle note of salt pan, oyster shell and dried lemon zest. As the wine evolves more green apple notes develop. If you love Chablis, this is a wine for you. The palate is textured, layered and complex with minerality at its core and the lemon and apple flavors just standing guard. Drink now–2040. *Cellar Selection* (JP)" (07/2023) 91 poin...

In 1973, Daniel Dugois bought 2 hectares of vineyard and a house equipped with wine cellars in a village called Les Arsures, where he was born. He cultivated the vineyard and sold his production primarily to Henri Maire, one of the most prominent producers in Jura at that time. In 1982, Daniel made his first harvest in his own cellars and began to sell his wines to consumers. His first ever harvest earned him his first Gold Medal for his Chardonnay at the Jura Wine Contest. Daniel and his wife Monique have continued to work on the quality of their wines...

abaj (Ka-bye) have farmed their vineyards for many generations. When Katja Kabaj met French oenologist Jean-Michel Morel after his stint at an Italian winery, they fell in love and eventually married. Jean-Michel brought some of those Italian and French sensibilities to the winery along with his fondness for working with amphorae. Those who have tasted Kabaj whites know that these wine range from light to full skin contact for the whites and the Rebula is probably one of their most noteworthy. It is aged for 30 days on the skin and then for about a year ...

93 points Decanter: "Chris Alheit is known for his diverse array of old vine Chenins from vineyards across the Cape but this white blend is a little different. He describes it thus: ‘One wine, one place, a few different grapes.’ Essentially it’s the product of a single vineyard planted in 2010 with Roussanne, Chenin, Chardonnay, Verdelho and Muscat. The resulting wine is fresh and creamy with tropical fruit and fynbos on the nose and an exotic plate of pineapple chunks and bruised pear. Textured with a tense, high-acid finish." 96 points James Suckling: "Mineral, macadamia, pine nuts, white sesame and white fruit with a touch of spice. A bright and linear Capellania that shows excellent tension, freshness and complexity. Long and appetizing finish. More taut and gastronomic now. 100% viura. Drink now or hold." (08/2023) 95 points Tim Atkin: "The cooler 2018 vintage was ideally suited to the production of high-quality whites like this pure Viura from a six-hectare plateau at 485 metres within the extensive Castillo Ygay estate. Modern, perfumed and poised, it has finely integr...

Monica Larner of Wine Advocate writes: "The exciting news to report is that Salvatore is now offering two wines from his new estate on Etna, Rocca Coeli. Home base remains the Faro appellation with breathtaking views over the Strait of Messina from mountain-hugging vineyards at 600 meters above sea level (and just 1.5 kilometers from the beach). This site is planted to a crazy mix of indigenous grapes (Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera, Acitana, Galatena, Jacché and Core 'e Palumba) and enjoys very steep temperature drops between day and night...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2018 Sine Qua Non "Aperta" Central Coast White Blend (100RP, 97JD, 94VN). Wine Advocate: "It spent around 24 months aging in 21% used barrels (two to four years old) and 79% new French oak (60% were larger puncheons). The nose opens with alluring notions of honeycomb, toasted almonds, orange blossoms, musk melons and poached pears with surfacing scents of lemongrass and preserved ginger. The rich, full-bodied palate is built with exciting tension, delivering a satiny texture and layers upon layers of apple, citrus and melon-inspired flavors with a spicy/savory undercurrent. Minerals and toasted nuts emerge on the long, long, long lingering finish. This is an astonishingly complex dry white, which I anticipate will age gracefully like an epic white Burgundy. Readers should note that this wine was decanted three hours prior to tasting, and it opened considerably over the one to two hours that I had it in the glass. (LPB)" (08/2021)

Of the 2018 Prà Monte Grande Soave Classico, James Suckling writes: "Very clean and fresh with ripe peaches and some ash. Medium-bodied with a tight and pretty palate that is layered and delicious. Always an outstanding single-vineyard wine. Drink now. Screw cap." (08/2020)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2018 Cantine Matrone "Territorio de' Matroni" Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco . Vinous: "Musky dried apricots mix with exotic florals and crushed hazelnut as the 2018 Bianco Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio opens in the glass. This is cool-toned and pliant, yet with a bite of saline-minerality and zesty acids that keep the energy high. While more savory than sweet, it maintains wonderful freshness throughout, leaving notes of sour apple and raw almond to linger. This is a blend of 80% Caprettone, 15% Falanghina and 5% Greco.
