Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This impressive white delivers a core of quince, lemon rind and apple that blends with accents of white flower and lemongrass. Crisp acidity drives the freshness on the textured palate, offering elegance and plenty of layers of intrigue. This will do well in the cellar; enjoy 2021 - 2026. (VB)" (05/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay is a very pretty, understated wine from Hanzell. Lifted, gracious and quite subtle, it is super-expressive today. Readers should expect a finessed, translucent, incredibly distinctive C...

Like art in a bottle. Kent Humphrey created the Eric Kent winery as a celebration of art and craft. He sources fruit from some of Sonoma County's best vineyards and he partners with local Sonoma artists to feature their work in a sort of wine label gallery. Each wine Kent creates features a new and distinct piece of art. For Kent’s part, after pursuing a career in academia and advertising, he found a home in the wine cellar, and began working with vineyards he loves throughout Sonoma County. The Luke's Grove Chardonnay is primarily sourced from the Stili...

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Chardonnay Anderson Valley from the team at Rhys knocks it out of the park, and I suspect it’s a screaming value. White peach, apple blossom, spice, and some white flower notes all flow to a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless Chardonnay that has tons of character. It will keep for 5-7 years." John Gilman: "The 2016 Alesia Anderson Valley Chardonnay is a nicely cool customer at 12.5 percent and quite aromatically expressive, wafting from the glass in a fine blend of peach, a touch of guava, lovely soil tones, touch of fresh...

95 points Sam Kim: "Wonderfully fruited and gorgeously expressed, the bouquet shows nectarine, rockmelon, lemon peel, nougat and brioche characters with a hint of flinty complexity. The palate is superbly weighted and expansive with terrific fruit power and elegant oak infusion, leading to an impressively long delicious finish. At its best: now to 2024." (11/2019) 94 points Bob Campbell: "Elegant, lively chardonnay with ginger, toasted nut, white peach, citrus-lime and some struck flint savoury character. A clever interplay of fruit and winemaking arte...

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Chardonnay Dupratt comes from the Anderson Valley and was brought up in 20% new French oak. It’s a more racy, vibrant Chardonnay that offers lots of white fruits, wet granite-like minerality, white flowers, and hints of tart apple. It builds with time in the glass and is medium-bodied, has a rounded, supple texture, beautiful purity of fruit, and a great finish. While it plays in the lighter style of the estate, it has terrific intensity and depth. It’s going to keep for upwards of a decade."

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pungent nose combines notes of petrol, straw, pear and a whiff of citrus rind. I like both the volume and punch of the middle weight flavors that emanate a subtle minerality on the clean, dry and moderately complex finale." (06/2018) K&L Notes: Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Vinified in stainless steel, then matured 40% in barrel of which half new and now reassembled before bottling. This has a lovely bouquet of fresh pears along with the faintest touch of liquorice. Really a delight. Excellent texture, middleweight fruit...

90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Brought up in stainless steel, the 2016 Chardonnay Clone 76 Inox sports a light gold color as well crisp, clean notes of citrus blossom, lots of salty minerality, and white flower notes. Medium-bodied, fresh and crisp on the palate, it has terrific acidity and is an outstanding Chardonnay. Melville Winery has some changes recently with the departure of winemaker Greg Brewer and Chad Melville taking over the winemaking helm. These 2015s are pretty much outstanding across the board, but show the difficulty in the vintage with lighte...

91 points James Suckling: "Dried nutmeg, apricot pie, vanilla and spices. Medium to full body, some nice oiliness to the texture and a medium finish. Drink now (JS)." (05/2019)

90 points James Suckling: "There’s quite a lot of caramelized grapefruit and apricots, although the fresher tropical-fruit notes come through with butterscotch. Medium to full body, some good acidity and a medium finish. Drink now (JS)." (05/2019)

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "As always, the 2016 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard is the most masculine and mineral-driven, with an exotic bouquet of white flowers, iodine, crushed rocks, and stone fruits. Reductive, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, it’s a brilliant vintage from this vineyard and is a world-class Chardonnay in every way." (02/2019) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard offers up aromas of pear, grapefruit pith, iodine and fresh nutmeg. On the palate, it's ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine François Gaunoux Meursault 1er Cru "Gouttes d'Or". François Gaunoux is a quintessential insider's secret in Burgundy. The domaine never submits for scores or reviews but does conduct cellar visits or barrel tastings for either consumers or critics. With a mere 10 hectares of vines in Beaune and Meursault, this tiny, family-run outfit produces highly sought-after and hard-to-find wines that are the darlings of many sommeliers and cognoscenti in France. The winemaking is now largely run by Gaunoux's daughter, Claudine, who is a staunch traditionalist, even more so than her father in many respects.
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Vincent & Sophie Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffière" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An elegant and refined nose reflects notes of pear, quinine, matchstick and floral hints. There is lovely purity to the detailed, intense and stony flavors that exude a wonderful sense of underlying tension on the palate staining finish that once again exudes a touch of bitter lemon character. This too should age well." (06/2018)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Thierry et Pascale Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Perrières" (93BH, 93RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières was bottled a bit later than has been the norm chez Matrot, as Elsa Matrot is keen to see if longer sur lie élevage would benefit the domaine's wines. It was showing very well when I tasted it, revealing classic scents of lemon oil, white flowers and chalky soil tones that are defined more by the site than the vintage. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny textured and deep, with good concentration, bright acids and a long, searingly stony finish. (WK)" (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $105.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Knights Valley Chardonnay (100RP, 98JD, 96VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Point Rouge explodes from the glass with a myriad of citrus and stone fruit notes—grapefruit, lemon tart, key lime pie and fresh nectarines—with hints of baking bread, toasted almonds, crushed rocks, spice cake and wet pebbles. The palate is full-bodied, rich and totally decadent yet with bags of finesse and nuances in the tightly knit mouth, finishing very long and layered. (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $500.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2016 Elizabeth Spencer "ExS - Block 7" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. We love Elizabeth Spencer's small production wines; consistently well-balanced and refined offerings that continue to fly under the radar somewhat. Elizabeth Spencer is a husband and wife winemaking partnership based in St. Helena. The wines are vinified using classical hands-on methods with minimal handling in small, individual lots. These south facing hillside vineyards are located north of San Pablo Bay on Lakeville Highway outside the town of Petaluma in southern Sonoma County. Cooling influences from the nearby Bay converge with those from the Pacific Coast to create a very cool microclimate, particularly well-suited to the production of premium Chardonnay grapes.
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96JG, 96JS, 94VN, 93DC, (91-93RP), 92BH, 92WS). James Suckling: "The complexity, concentration and drive make this an excellent Clos in 2016. The fruits vary from citrus to exotic stone fruits. Green tropical and white floral notes, too. The palate has a staggeringly concentrated core of acid-drenched lemons, lime, peaches and green mangoes. Incredible depth, high acidity and a very long finish. A great Clos! Drink or hold. " (02/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2016 Peter Michael "Ma Belle-Fille" Knights Valley Chardonnay (98RP, 97JS, 96JD, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Ma Belle Fille slowly unfurls in the glass to reveal vibrant key lime pie, lemongrass, pink grapefruit and white peaches scents with suggestions of crushed stones, clotted cream, almond croissant and orange blossoms. Medium to full-bodied and with a fantastic intensity of citrus and stone fruit layers giving way to loads of mineral accents, it finishes long and creamy. (LPB)" (10/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Aubert "Hudson Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (99JD, (96-98RP), 97VN, 95WS). Brought up in 80% new French oak, it has a deep, rich, concentrated profile, vibrant acidity, and remarkable purity." (06/2018)
