2016 Hanzell "Estate" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (Elsewhere $65+) (Elsewhere $65+)
Top Pick!
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This impressive white delivers a core of quince, lemon rind and apple that blends with accents of white flower and lemongrass. Crisp acidity drives the freshness on the textured palate, offering elegance and plenty of layers of intrigue. This will do well in the cellar; enjoy 2021 - 2026. (VB)" (05/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay is a very pretty, understated wine from Hanzell. Lifted, gracious and quite subtle, it is super-expressive today. Readers should expect a finessed, translucent, incredibly distinctive C...

2016 Eric Kent "Luke's Grove" Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Previously $42) (Previously $42)
Top Pick!
Like art in a bottle. Kent Humphrey created the Eric Kent winery as a celebration of art and craft. He sources fruit from some of Sonoma County's best vineyards and he partners with local Sonoma artists to feature their work in a sort of wine label gallery. Each wine Kent creates features a new and distinct piece of art. For Kent’s part, after pursuing a career in academia and advertising, he found a home in the wine cellar, and began working with vineyards he loves throughout Sonoma County. The Luke's Grove Chardonnay is primarily sourced from the Stili...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a well-made, well-integrated showcase of the appellation, with crisp flavors of apple, ginger and Asian pear. Hearty in texture and style, it has a lasting bite of anise on the full-bodied finish. (VB)" (06/2019) 90 points James Suckling: "Attractive, spicy pear and peach aromas with tropical notes, leading to a palate that has a rich, fleshy and gently creamy fruit core. Baking spices to close." (10/2018)

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the 2016 Chardonnay Hilliard Bruce, it’s a classic Chardonnay from this appellation that offers lots of citrus rind, salty minerality, spice and orange blossom aromas and flavors." (08/2017) 93 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Hilliard Bruce is rich and textured on the palate, with a flavor profile that leans towards the riper end of the spectrum while retaining the freshness and energy that are such Diatom signatures. (AG)" (09/2017) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Freshly cut Anjou pear, crisp apple, hints of ho...

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Chardonnay Anderson Valley from the team at Rhys knocks it out of the park, and I suspect it’s a screaming value. White peach, apple blossom, spice, and some white flower notes all flow to a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless Chardonnay that has tons of character. It will keep for 5-7 years." John Gilman: "The 2016 Alesia Anderson Valley Chardonnay is a nicely cool customer at 12.5 percent and quite aromatically expressive, wafting from the glass in a fine blend of peach, a touch of guava, lovely soil tones, touch of fresh...

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Chardonnay Dupratt comes from the Anderson Valley and was brought up in 20% new French oak. It’s a more racy, vibrant Chardonnay that offers lots of white fruits, wet granite-like minerality, white flowers, and hints of tart apple. It builds with time in the glass and is medium-bodied, has a rounded, supple texture, beautiful purity of fruit, and a great finish. While it plays in the lighter style of the estate, it has terrific intensity and depth. It’s going to keep for upwards of a decade."

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Residual SO2 is sufficient to dominate the nose today. Marvelously energetic and intensely mineral-driven flavors also possess excellent cut that characterizes the bitter lemon and saline-inflected finish that delivers seriously fine length. This chiseled effort is almost Chablis-like and will require at least a few years of bottle age first. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (06/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is excellent, unfurling in the glass with notes of citrus...

2016 Peter Michael "Belle Côte" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Back In Stock!
98 points James Suckling: "Very smoky with lightly toasted oak, cooked apples, pears and green melon. Full-bodied and very deep and layered on the palate. Gorgeous texture and depth here. Delicious finish with hints of salt and minerals. Expressive. " (02/2019) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Belle Cote charges forth from the glass with gregarious tropical fruits—lychees, melon and pineapple—with hints of allspice, Turkish delight, honeysuckle and gingerbread. Full-bodied, rich and exuberant in the mouth, it has wonderfull...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "As always, the 2016 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard is the most masculine and mineral-driven, with an exotic bouquet of white flowers, iodine, crushed rocks, and stone fruits. Reductive, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, it’s a brilliant vintage from this vineyard and is a world-class Chardonnay in every way." (02/2019) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard offers up aromas of pear, grapefruit pith, iodine and fresh nutmeg. On the palate, it's ...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chardonnay Alpine Vineyard is a stunning young wine that's one of the best whites Rhys has produced to date. Opening up with vivid aromas of lemon oil, citrus pith, crisp apple and nutmeg, it's fuller-bodied, glossier and more textural than the Horseshoe bottling, with a broader attack as well. But it's also intensely saline and mineral, with wonderful concentration and intensity. (WK)" (05/2018) 95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chardonnay Alpine Vineyard is fascinating to taste next to the Horseshoe, as it...

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2016 Rajat Parr Wine Club "The Scythians" Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay .
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Kistler "Cuvée Cathleen" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100JD, 98RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "I suspect one of the greatest Chardonnays to come out of California, the 2016 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard Cuvée Cathleen comes from a single block of broken shale soils and vines planted in 1993. They first made this cuvée in 2000. The tightest, most backward, and insanely pure in the lineup, with a liqueur of rocks like minerality, this incredible Chardonnay offers full-bodied richness, loads of apple and orchard fruits, complex floral and spice characteristics, vibrant and massive concentration. Despite being a rich, layered wine, it stays beautifully precise and focused on the palate, with a salty, marine-like character developing with time in the glass. It needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will cruise for a decade." (06/2018)
Starting Bid: $320.00
