Camus is an underrated domaine with good grand cru holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin. It's existed, more or less, since 1732, but mostly after the phylloxera epidemic, when Joseph Camus purchased abandoned vineyards. The wines are not filtered, so you'll often find sediment, but this ensures that every iota of flavor from the grape makes it into the final wine. "The prices at this domaine are down-right reasonable," according to the Burgundy Report. "Tasted at the domaine as a ‘family,’ each wine is interesting and follows the hierarchy – there’s a clear di...

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of dried strawberry, flowers, and almonds. Some smoky undertones. Medium to full body, pinpointed and linear with a finish that goes to the tip of your tongue. Energetic. " (05/2017) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant wine, the 2014 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard, utilizes about 10%-15% whole-clusters and 60% new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Most of this vineyard is planted with Hyde Pinot Noir selections, including Calera. The vineyard was planted in 1979, but Patz & Hall used t...

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Williams Selyem "Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94VN, 92RP). Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard is one of the most compelling wines in this range, as it brings together the inherent richness of the Russian River with bright, salivating minerality that gives the flavors an extra kick of brightness. Bright red cherry, pomegranate, white pepper, chalk and blood orange are all beautifully delineated throughout. Simply put, this is an impeccable Pinot from Williams Selyem. Don't miss it! Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2014 Testarossa "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (93RP, 92WE) and 1-bottle of 2014 Testarossa "Soberanes Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (94WE, 92WS, 90CG, 90RP). Of the 2014 Testarossa "Soberanes Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, Wine Enthusiast writes: "Stark minerality, from hot gravel to chipped slate, meets with garrigue elements of lavender and thyme on the nose of this strong bottling that gains a savory quality thanks to roasted-pork aromas. The requisite fruit arrives on the sip, where smashed cranberry meets with pepper spice and dried herbs. The structure is grippy and affords great length in the finish. (MK)" (12/2016)
