97 points James Suckling: "This red shows lots of redcurrants and fresh flowers on the nose. It’s full-bodied with juicy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Needs three or four years to resolve some of the tannins. Beautiful Cabernet character, but already a joy to taste." (02/2017) 95 points Vinous: "The 2014 Grand Puy Lacoste is superb. Dark, dense and inviting, the 2014 possesses remarkable depth and richness. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Thierry et Pascale Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" (92BH, (90-92VN)). Vinous: "Strongly mineral nose shows a smoked-meat reduction. Sweet, ripe and fine-grained. Not yet complex but silky in texture and concentrated, with bright minerality carrying through to a firm, very fresh finish. A distinctly sensual Meursault but without any make-up from new barrels. (ST)" (09/2015)
