At just 7.5 acres, Alexandre Le Brun is the smallest producer from Champagne that we import, or even carry. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to négociants. His production is just one thousand cases a year total. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and his hands-on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and, although small, it is diverse. He farms 22 plots in eight different villages. Among these are some of the oldest vines i...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Juliard Vineyard has a sultry bouquet, more backward with oyster shell, marine-like scents coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, very well balanced with brown spices developing towards the finish that fans out with confidence. There is everything you can want in an Oregon 2014 Pinot Noir here, and I suspect it will age with style and aplomb. (NM)" 92 points Vinous: "Ruby-red. Deep-pitched aromas of cherry cola, black raspberry, licorice and smoky minerals carry a suav...

96 points Vinous: "I was deeply impressed with these wines from Domaine de Chevalier. The red has a slight upper hand in 2014, but both wines are distinctive and full of character. Olivier Bernard owns one of the crown jewels of Bordeaux, as these wines clearly make evident. The 2014 Domaine de Chevalier is a total knockout. Precise, brilliant and finely sculpted, the 2014 possesses superb intensity. Freshly cut flowers, mint and sweet red berries, along with finessed but persistent tannins, give the wine its regal personality. The 2014 needs a number of...

94 points Wine Spectator: "Lightly aromatic, but rich and layered, this offers excellent density and depth, with fine-grained tannic grip and a long, persistent finish that keeps flashing the core flavors. *Top 100 of 2016* (JL)" (04/2016)

94 points James Suckling: "Some earthy and savory aromas dominate the dried red cherries initially, then dried wild herbs and quite intense notes of spicy dried red cherries emerge. The palate has a very taut, structured feel with handsomely proportioned tannins carrying gently leathery dried red cherries. Long finish. Drink or hold." (01/2019) 94 points Vinous: "Sasseti's 2014 Brunello di Montalcino shows an earthy, almost-animal display of ripe strawberries offset by savory herbs, leather and coffee grinds. On the palate, smooth textures lead into ri...

95 points James Suckling: "Intense aromas of gunpowder and sliced lemon. So cool. Full body, with lovely pine nut and sliced apple character. Long and flavorful finish. Exciting white. Better in a year or two." (05/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chardonnay Ulises Valdez Vineyard has beautifully expressive cashews and lemon tart notes with underlying nectarines, musk melons, baking bread and acacia honey. Full-bodied and incredibly concentrated, it gives loads of citrus and stone fruit layers with plenty of savory accents and a...

94 points John Gilman: "The 2014 Doctor Spätlese, which was also still in cask, was a bit more willing to be tasted than the Kabinett, but this too is still a puppy and its best years will be well in the future. The beautiful nose wafts from the glass in a blend of pear, delicious apple, a touch of petrol, lovely wild yeast tones, bee pollen, a deep base of Doctor soil and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very elegant, with a rock solid core, fine focus and cut and a very long, reserved and classy finish. ...

92 points Wine & Spirits: "Tasted blind, something about this wine’s lush texture and floral lift reminded me of other wines I’ve had from Tina Marie, a picturesque vineyard surrounded by conifers in the heart of Green Valley. There’s nothing complex about it, just a velvet-soft embrace of deftly ripe fruit that stays bright and clear through the end." (08/2016)

90 points Vinous: "Another pretty wine, the 2014 Pinot Noir Sullivan Vineyard offers good depth and intensity in the Banshee style that emphasizes freshness and energy. The darker side of Pinot red cherry/plum flavors come through nicely. Like the other Banshee 2014s, the Sullivan needs a few months to unwind from its recent bottling. Ross Cobb and Katy Wilson make restrained, delicate Chardonnays and Pinots from top vineyards sites in Sonoma at Banshee, a project headed by Noah Dorrance, Baron Ziegler and Steve Graf. The appellation wines are especially...

96 points Vinous: "The 2014 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard, from one of Napa Valley's historic, legacy sites, is utterly magnificent. Sweet, perfumed and silky on the palate, the 2014 possesses magnificent intensity and nuance. Red cherry jam, pomegranate, mint, spice and tobacco are some of the many notes that flesh out. Expressive floral and savory top notes add further shades of nuance. The Hayne is yet another exceptionally beautiful, vivid wine from Turley. (AG)" (12/2016)

95 points James Suckling: "A beautiful white with green tropical fruit and lime undertones. Korean pears. Full and dense with compacted fruit structure and richness. Linear and beautiful. Drink or hold. " (05/2017) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay Ross Station Estate gives up gorgeous lemon curd, white grapefruit and lime cordial scents with suggestions of jasmine, honeyed toast, lanolin and chopped almonds. Full-bodied and chock-full of citrus and savory layers, it has a racy line contrasting the sexy satiny texture, finis...

89-92 points Vinous: "The 2014 Roc de Cambes is all perfume and silk in the glass. Understated and lifted in style, the 2014 is beautifully layered, with plenty of sweet red cherry, rose petal, mint and spice. All the elements are nuanced and delineated in an open-knit wine that should offer a wide window of fine drinking. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)" (03/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Roc de Cambes has a lovely bouquet—very pure and intense—with black cherries, blueberry fruit and crushed rose pet...
