This Champagne is composed of 1/3 each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. All of the fruit is estate grown from the Ariston's vineyards in Brouillet … La Vallée Brouillet might be my very favorite place in all of Champagne. I love the rolling landscape, the mix of mustard, vineyard and colza fields. But most of all I love the quiet peace of this secluded northwestern part of the region. This is the real countryside of Champagne! This area is known for the incredible diversity of fossilized shellfish that can be found in the fields here. The Ariston fami...

Wine Club

97 points Wine Spectator: "This goes from zero to 60 right out of the gate, with an intense spine of acidity driving tightly meshed flavors of crushed black currant, ground coffee, candied grapefruit peel and toasted almond. The profile expands on the palate, carried by the fine, raw silk–like mousse. Richly aromatic and expressive from start to lasting, spiced finish. *Highly Recommended* (AN)" (12/2020) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Still young for a wine of this caliber, this rich Champagne has an immense future ahead of it. The freshness of the wine ...

91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a densely tannic wine with juiciness showing quite tardily through the tannins. The wine has a very dry, firm character with acidity that finishes on a bright, fresh note. (RV)" (04/2013) 90 points James Suckling: "Some berry and currant character with hints of sandalwood follows through to a medium body, integrated tannins and a clean finish. This is well crafted for the vintage. Drink or hold." (02/2015) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot, this well-known and pop...

2012 Zind Humbrecht "Goldert" Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Alsace
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very clear and precise on the nose starts the citrus-colored 2012 Gewurztraminer Goldert Grand Cru, displaying fresh lime and lemon flavors along with kiwi and also floral aromas. Bottled with 12.5% of alcohol and 77 grams of unfermented sweetness (due to 20% of noble rot) that is nothing but theory, since the wine is so piquant and salty that it tastes as dry as a Scharzhofberger Spätlese if you don't decant it for a day or two. Sure, the soil is completely different (deep limestone marl) and so is the texture o...

90 points James Suckling: "Fine and silky with pretty aromas and flavors of currants and stones. Medium body, dense fruit and fine tannins. Racy finish." (02/2015) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Features a smoldering charcoal edge, with focused plum, cassis and bitter cherry fruit forming the core. Sleek, with iron and loam notes underscoring the finish. Shows solid length and drive, and should age nicely. (JM)" (03/2015) K&L Notes: Château du Glana is at the heart of the St-Julien commune, and stylistically it’s right down the middle: neither too modern...

2012 Veuve Clicquot "La Grande Dame - Yayoi Kusama Edition" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Decanter: "A generous golden colour betrays the dominance of Pinot Noir in the blend; this theme thereafter maintained by aromatics of fig, wild strawberries and Mirabelle plums; behind that, jasmine, red apples and a distant whiff of woodsmoke. Engaging already, in other words. One’s impressions are confirmed and amplified on the palate, with the aspiration voiced by both chef de caves Dominique and Didier, to allow the ‘cooler’ Pinot Noir sites full rein. This is eloquently evidenced by a subtle and deftly textured structure, the primary frui...

2012 Zind Humbrecht "Rangen de Thann Clos St-Urbain" Pinot Gris Grand Cru Alsace
Back In Stock!
95-97 points Vinous: "Pure, highly aromatic nose combines orange zest, smoke and white truffle, with complicating notes of lemony, marmaladey botrytis. The strong botrytis character is obvious on the palate too, which offers an uncanny combination of volume and vivacity, with suave flavors of strawberry, ripe peach and pear nectar. Piercing acidity provides outstanding clarity and cut on the very long finish. A wine of mesmerizing complexity and impeccable balance, though not the richest or most powerful Clos Saint-Urbain ever (for example, both the 2009...

2012 Zind Humbrecht "Brand" Riesling Grand Cru Alsace
94-96 points Vinous: "Sexy high-pitched yet delicate aromas of nectarine, lime, flint and white flowers on the captivating, almost Mosel-like nose. Then broad and inviting, offering soft, nuanced flavors of ripe peach, citrus jam, minerals and flint. Finishes long and slightly sweet (12 g/l residual sugar) but owing to its firm acidity this wine seems off-dry. The grapes were slightly affected by both noble rot and passerillage, and has an extra measure of sweetness and texture as a result. This couldn’t be any more different from the Rangen but is just ...

91 points James Suckling: "A chewy and fresh wine with spice, nut and currant character. Full-bodied and muscular. Needs time to soften." (02/2015) 91 points Vinous: "The 2012 Meyney is a deep, structured wine with a lot going on in the glass. The expressive bouquet alone is enticing, but all the elements simply come together effortlessly. The pliant fruit suggests the 2012 can be enjoyed young - and it can - but there is also more than enough depth to allow the wine to age gracefully for years. This is an impressive Saint-Estephe, especially for the y...

2012 Zind Humbrecht "Clos Windsbuhl" Riesling Alsace
Back In Stock!
93 points Vinous: "Peach, lemongrass, mango, papaya and rose water on the pretty nose. Tactile and layered on the palate, with intense white stone fruit and ginger flavors lifted by a strong floral element. Impeccably balanced wine with a suave, extremely long finish. This was especially expressive when I originally tasted it from cask, showcasing the exotic tropical fruit aromas typical of the vineyard and the vintage in general, but it has shut down somewhat in bottle, which is also a characteristic of this wine. (ID)" (04/2015) 92 points Wine Specta...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle but not invisible wood treatment allows the red and dark currant, earth and lightly menthol-inflected aromas to be clearly appreciated. There is a really lovely sense of refinement to the delicious and ultra-pure flavors that are muscular but sleek, all wrapped in a mouth coating, balanced and gorgeously long finish. This is an exercise in harmony and well worth considering. (AM) " (04/2014) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Les Champans is tighter and more linear than others ...

97 points Decanter: "Soft and juicy with flattering, bright red fruits. The alcohol is showing through just a little bit but it's countered by precise acidity. Starting to show really nicely when tasted in 2019, taking on cedar and tobacco leaf. This is a happy, juicy style, full of life - flamboyant but stylish. (MW)" (10/2019) 97 points Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with a gorgeous cassis aroma that soars from the glass, reinforced by a core of cassis, cherry and plum pâte de fruit, hoisin sauce, warm ganache and well-roasted apple wood notes. Hefty, b...

90 points Decanter: "This majors on end of summer brambly hedgerow fruits and touches of caramel. 2012 is a vintage that's often opened at the estate right now, and it certainly seems evident that this will be ready sooner and last for less time than the 2011. Despite this, it's suave, open and enjoyable. (JA)" (06/2018)

97-99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another massive, thick and unctuously textured beauty is the 2012 Cote Rotie la Landonne. Always the most structured and tannic of the three single vineyard releases, in this case, the wine’s wealth of fruit and texture almost completely hide its tannic grip and underlying structure. Offering sensational notes of cassis, caramelized meats, spice box and crushed rocks, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, masses of perfectly ripe tannin and a surprisingly sexy, hard to resist profile. Neverthe...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in 2019 with eight grams per liter dosage, the 2012 Brut Millésimé offers up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and clear honey, complemented by hints of toasted bread, citrus zest and linden. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and a pinpoint mousse, it's more generous and demonstrative than the 2008, but it will nonetheless reward a bit of bottle age. 2012 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis
Back In Stock!
91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Menthol and lemon on the nose. Dry, saline and serious in the mouth, with a point of austerity to the incisive flavors of citrus peel, minerals and jasmine. Finishes with terrific lemon-limey cut and noteworthy length. These vines are planted 'across from La Forest,' noted Dauvissat, but are considerably younger: 20 to 25 years of age vs. 50+. A superb village wine. (ST)" (07/2014) 90 points Vinous: "The 2012 Chablis stands out for its density, depth and balance. Far from an easygoing Chablis, the ...

2012 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons"
96 points Vinous: "Another breathtaking wine, the 2012 Chablis Vaillons blasts across the palate with stunning depth, resonance and pure voluptuousness. Honey, apricot pit, peach and sweet floral notes meld together in a wine of pure grace. Today, the Vaillons is nearly impossible to miss for its raciness, but should also age very, very well. (AG)" (08/2014) 91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool, pure and restrained nose only grudgingly reveals its layered combination of citrus, floral, lemon zest, pepper and iodine-inflected aromas. There is a ...

88-90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Deep ruby color. A deft touch of wood surrounds the ripe and very fresh black raspberry, earth and discreet floral nuances. There is the same attractive freshness and sense of tension to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine minerality on the muscular, even robust finish that is quite firmly structured. This is a big and extracted wine in the context of what is typical for Beaune and clearly built to age." (04/2014) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Less primary fruit ...

From Bourdy: "The only grape variety used to make Château Chalon, along with all Vin Jaune, is the Savagnin, which amongst other names used to be called 'Le Naturé' or 'Fromentin'. Its origin is mysterious. From a botanical point of view, it is closely related to the Klevener d'Heiligenstein grape which is cultivated in Alsace and is part of the Traminer family. Legend has it that the grape variety is Hungarian in origin, or perhaps Spanish, but there is no firm evidence for these claims. Historic documents suggest that savagnin was already being cultiva...

91 points Vinous: "A joyous, exuberant wine, the 2012 Clos Puy Arnaud hits the palate with layers of intense fruit, sweet aromatics and silky, polished tannins. The style is intensely ripe yet also impeccably balanced throughout. Bold red cherry, pomegranate, sweet spices and mint meld into the super expressive finish. Clos Puy Arnaud is one of the sleepers of the vintage, no doubt about it. This is a terrific showing from proprietor Thierry Valette's biodynamically farmed Castillon property. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. (AG)" (01/2016...

93 points James Suckling: "A complex and maturing Gewurztraminer with a lot of subtle candied fruit and a hint of spices. This almost-dry wine has fascinating textural complexity and clean mineral acidity, allowing the wine to carry a tiny hint of bitterness at the long dry finish." (05/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Selected and harvested at the peak of the grapes's ripeness the 2012 Gewurztraminer Cuvée des Seigneurs Ribeaupierre is very clear and intensely aromatic on the fresh and nobly perfumed nose where lime and orange oil flavo...

94 points James Suckling: "This has a very fresh and pure, lemony nose and is completely mouth-filling. Then it freshens and composes and takes a fine, flinty, acidity-chiseled and dry ride to the finish. Super refreshing and saline. From biodynamically grown grapes – 55% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay and 20% pinot meunier." (07/2019) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Coming after 2006 and 2009, this is the third vintage of Roederer’s Brut Nature, a wine Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon makes in collaboration with Philippe Starck. Its production is determined by the year...

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Château Rayas "La Pialade" Côtes du Rhône. Château Rayas is among the indisputable royalty in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the prices that their wines command reflect this reverence among collectors and aficionados. However, they also make a handful of thoroughly outstanding bottlings from their younger vines under a Côtes du Rhône AOC designation. La Pialades is composed almost entirely of fruit from young Grenache vines with a touch of both Syrah and Cinsault. The Châteauneuf wines from Rayas are famous for their refined elegance and structure, and this CdR is no different. It's a wine that is ageworthy far beyond its supposed level quality (by AOC standards, anyway), and it's a remarkable introduction to the essence of one of the world's greatest domaines.

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Très Vielles Vignes (95RP, 94BH, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Roty 2012 Charmes-Chambertin is astoundingly good, and it has yet to shut down in the cellar. The bouquet reveals a lovely melange of black cherry, plum and rich soil tones that synergize beautifully with the wine's high toast cooperage. On the palate, the wine is carrying quite a bit of puppy fat that makes it deceptively accessible, but it's clear that when the very serious and refined structural chassis hidden behind that youthful precocity begins to open up a decade or so down the line, it will be an even more massive, bottomless wine. What a legacy the late Philippe Roty has left us! (WK)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $241.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Pierre Bourée Fils Charmes-Chambertin (94JG). John Gilman: "The 2012 Charmes-Chambertin from the Vallets had already been bottled, but it was very much on form and showed great potential. These ninety year-old vines have produced a stellar wine in 2012, offering up a deep and very pure bouquet of red and black cherries, coffee, grilled meats, a superbly complex base of soil tones, just a touch of mustard seed and a discreet base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and nascently complex, with a sappy core of fruit, fine-grained tannins, outstanding focus and grip and a very long, refined and perfectly balanced finish. 94+" (03/2014)
Starting Bid: $410.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Suchots" (94VN, 93BH). Vinous: "The aromas and flavors of black raspberry, coffee and tropical dark chocolate show an almost liqueur-like ripeness. Rich, layered and deep, showing near-grand cru density, solidity and lift. And yet not at all overly sweet. Outstanding Suchots, finishing with superb length and considerable power. (I recently enjoyed a bottle of the estate's 1988 Suchots and it was in glorious condition and at its peak.) (ST) 94+" (03/2015)
Starting Bid: $98.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine A.-F. Gros Vosne-Romanée "Clos de la Fontaine" ((88-91BH), (89-91RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Vosne-Romanee Clos de la Fontaine comes from the family’s monopole just below Clos des Reas. It was sold under the Michel Gros contract for 1996 and the parcel will ultimately be returned to Bernard Gros. It has a beguiling, mineral-rich bouquet with scents of strawberry short cake, citrus lemon and blood orange that is vibrant and well-defined. The palate is well-balanced with supple tannins. This is very elegant and very feminine, almost to the point where you wish for more matiere on the finish. However, that might have detracted from the harmony and silky smooth texture. This should provide fine early drinking pleasure at a high quality. (NM)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $390.00
