2012 Zind Humbrecht "Rangen de Thann Clos St-Urbain" Pinot Gris Grand Cru Alsace
Back In Stock!
95-97 points Vinous: "Pure, highly aromatic nose combines orange zest, smoke and white truffle, with complicating notes of lemony, marmaladey botrytis. The strong botrytis character is obvious on the palate too, which offers an uncanny combination of volume and vivacity, with suave flavors of strawberry, ripe peach and pear nectar. Piercing acidity provides outstanding clarity and cut on the very long finish. A wine of mesmerizing complexity and impeccable balance, though not the richest or most powerful Clos Saint-Urbain ever (for example, both the 2009...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle but not invisible wood treatment allows the red and dark currant, earth and lightly menthol-inflected aromas to be clearly appreciated. There is a really lovely sense of refinement to the delicious and ultra-pure flavors that are muscular but sleek, all wrapped in a mouth coating, balanced and gorgeously long finish. This is an exercise in harmony and well worth considering. (AM) " (04/2014) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Les Champans is tighter and more linear than others ...

95 points Decanter: "Aromas of sandalwood and anise join red cherry compote, mocha and spicy undertones. Then the fresh, vibrant and energetic palate boasts layers of bright red fruits which meld with velvety tannins, chocolate and sagebrush tones. This outstanding Merlot (85% in this vintage) is drinking beautifully now but will cellar well for decades to come. (OB)" (06/2020) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Merlot, which was already in bottle at the time of this tasting, offers an elegant, yet sexy style, with gorgeous black raspbe...

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is beautifully lilting in preciously defined aromas of rose petal and wild strawberry. From there, it's all subtlety and ethereal elegance. The wine is restrained, nurtured in a basket of nutmeg and graham cracker, as well as freshly packed mushroomy earth. *Editors' Choice* (VB)" (04/2015) 92 points Vinous: "Vivid red. Smoky raspberry and blood orange aromas, with sexy Asian spice and floral notes adding complexity. Offers gently sweet red fruit and rose pastille flavors that put on weight with air and pick up a subtle...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This vineyard-designated wine reflects its sense of place remarkably well, offering tight dark cherry and blueberry around a strong character of wild earth, tea and herb. High in acidity and minerality, and yet powerfully understated, it’s gorgeously drinkable now but will gain further complexity through 2022. *Cellar Selection* (VB)" (04/2015) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a background hint of menthol to the cool and wonderfully pure nose that combines notes of plum, dark Pinot, anise, sandalwood and floral...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More lean and racy than the Alpine Vineyard, the 2012 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard has thrilling Chablis-like minerality and green citrus to go with lots of lemon curd, mint and hints of sappy flowers. (JD)" (04/2015) 95 points Vinous: "Rich, oily and viscous on the palate, the 2014 Chardonnay Horseshoe Vineyard is all about texture. Orange blossoms, mint, honey, apricot jam, butter and spices meld into the racy, voluptuous finish as the 2012 shows off its class and exuberant personality. A slight element of B...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Those who think they prefer anything but Chardonnay may be convinced otherwise with this wine. It is so powerfully evocative in crisply rendered Meyer lemon and tangerine notes, with aromas of fresh white flowers teasing provocatively on the nose. Seamless and seductively bright in acidity, it glides down the palate, hinting at a richness that never becomes overdone. (VB)" (04/2015) 93 points Vinous: "Green-tinged gold. Vibrant, mineral-accented scents of pear, tangerine and lemon zest, with a hint of iodine in the backgroun...

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed cherry-cola, dark berry liqueur, incense and mineral aromas show superb clarity and depth, with a sexy floral quality building with air. Offers palate-staining black raspberry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter and deeper with air. This rich but strikingly lithe and tensile pinot deftly plays power and depth off of vivacity and finishes sweet, youthfully tannic and extremely long. One of the most impressive Pinots I've tasted from the New World, or Burgundy for t...

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid ruby-red. Intensely perfumed, mineral-driven red berry, blood orange and potpourri aromas are complemented by deeper-pitched notes of cola and smoky Indian spices. Sweet, focused and light on its feet, offering intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a silky, seamless texture. The mineral quality comes back on the endless finish, which is strikingly pure, focused and gently tannic. I was reminded of a high-end Chambolle-Musigny when I tasted this balanced but intensely flavored wine and...

94 points Vinous: "Orange rind, graphite, pine, mint and crushed rocks jump from the glass in the 2012 Pinot Noir Home Vineyard. One of the more vibrant, chiseled wines in the range, the Home will benefit from further time in bottle. The translucent, crystalline finish is a thing of beauty. In this vintage, the Home was done with 100% whole clusters. Quite remarkably, the Home Vineyard lies just 400 yards away from Family Farm, separated by the San Andreas Fault, yet the wines from these two sites are completely different. (AG)" (07/2014) 93 points Rob...

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby. Heady floral aromas of raspberry, cherry-cola, lavender and Asian spices. Stains the palate with juicy red fruit liqueur flavors complemented by deeper notes of licorice and black cardamom. Smooth, seamless and focused on the youthfully, very long tannic finish. Bet on this Pinot to repay at least a decade of patience. (ST)" (05/2014) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Located in the wilds of Annapolis, the vineyard will be familiar to fans of extreme Sonoma Coast wines. This vintage will be ...

2012 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis
Back In Stock!
91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Menthol and lemon on the nose. Dry, saline and serious in the mouth, with a point of austerity to the incisive flavors of citrus peel, minerals and jasmine. Finishes with terrific lemon-limey cut and noteworthy length. These vines are planted 'across from La Forest,' noted Dauvissat, but are considerably younger: 20 to 25 years of age vs. 50+. A superb village wine. (ST)" (07/2014) 90 points Vinous: "The 2012 Chablis stands out for its density, depth and balance. Far from an easygoing Chablis, the ...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new cuvee that I absolutely loved from barrel last year, the 2012 Tempranillo La Paciencia Vineyard is brilliantly done and gives up a crazy bouquet of blackberries, black cherries, bouquet garni, roasted meats and dried violets. Full-bodied, seamless and elegant, with silky tannin and fabulous precision and length, it’s slightly more approachable than Cayuse’s Impulsivo, yet should still benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and evolve for 10-15 years after that. (JD)" (06/2015) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Th...

93 points Vinous: "Sweet tobacco, red cherries, cinnamon, smoke and pretty earthy notes are woven together in the 2012 Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard. Pliant and expressive Pinot Noir is an excellent choice for drinking today and over the next few years. Hints of orange peel, star anise and cinnamon add an exotic flair on the expressive finish. The 2012 could use another year or two in bottle for the tannins to settle down. 93+ (AG)" (01/2015) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Subtle, soil-driven aromas of musky strawbe...

92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is quite powerful and intense today, with a gorgeous interplay of fruit, acidity and tannin. Game, smoke, sweet red cherries, menthol and tobacco open up in the glass, but the Savoy is mostly a wine of texture backed up by considerable energy and power. I imagine the Savoy will be even better once the tannins soften a bit further. (AG)" (01/2015) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(13.4% alcohol): Moderately saturated medium red. Deep aromas of wild cherry, strawberry, spices and peppery h...

94 points Vinous: "Littorai's 2012 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard is one of the more precise, lifted wines in this range. The style emphasizes precision, nuance and detail. Readers should expect to find a Pinot that will be slow to reveal the full breadth of its beauty and class. Hints of game, smoke and licorice add nuance to the finished, crystalline finish. This is a fabulous example of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. (AG) 94+" (01/2015) 92 points Decanter: "The nose, with its cherry and mint aromas, is reserved at first but becomes more perfumed with aerat...

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard is one of the more immediate wines today in terms of its up-front, succulent fruit, but at the same time, it has more than enough tannic clout to age well for years. Dark cherry, plum, cloves, menthol and dark spices wrap around the creamy, expressive finish. The style is round and generous but backed up by a terrific sense of energy. In short, there is a lot to like. (AG)" (01/2015) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(13.7% alcohol): Dark red. Chambolle-like perfumed aromas o...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from Anderson Valley in California's North Coast, the 2012 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is distinctly different than the Santa Cruz Mountain releases. Full, layered and supple, with possibly more mid-palate flesh than the slightly more racy 2012s from further south, this beauty gives up lovely notes of passion fruits, wild herbs (thyme, rosemary, lavender), eucalyptus and spice. (JD)" (04/2015) 94 points Vinous: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is another wine with great fruit intensity, not un...

2012 Kistler "Stone Flat Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Back In Stock!
93 points Wine Spectator: "A flinty, minerally style, with crushed rock, wet stone, green apple and lemon-citrus notes that are tight and focused, ending with a tart citrus peel pithiness on the finish. (JL)" (06/2015) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming across like a Grand Cru from Chablis, the 2012 Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard displays loads of wet rocks, a touch of delicate honey, lemon blossom and assorted citrus oil notes. It is medium-bodied, fresh, lively and quite crisp and pure. (RP)" (01/2015) 92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Char...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This classy young Pinot is the second release from the winery's only Petaluma Gap vineyard. It's bone dry, mouthwateringly tart in acidity and delicate in structure, with complex cherry, cranberry, persimmon and cola flavors, nicely augmented by smoky oak." (07/2014) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Pure, fresh and rich, with vivid raspberry, wild berry, boysenberry and floral notes imparting a good mix of flavor and structure. Ends with a dash of black licorice, gaining on the finish. (JL)" (08/2014)

94 points Vinous: "Bright ruby. Aromas of fresh red berries, rose pastille, blood orange and smoky minerals, along with a hint of Asian spices. Fresh, penetrating and pure, offering gently sweet strawberry and raspberry flavors that put on weight and become spicier with aeration. Shows very good intensity with no excess weight. Finishes silky and extremely long, with subtle tannins coming on late. (ST)" (05/2014) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "The color of this wine is deep, with a bright ruby rim. Effusive and enticing aromas of spicy cinnamon, toasted o...

94 points Vinous: "Game, smoke, tobacco, licorice, sage, incense and blood orange notes meld together in the 2012 Pinot Noir One Acre. A powerful, explosive wine, the 2012 impresses for its depth, intensity and sheer personality. There is a lot to look forward to here, but as is the case with so many of the Littorai 2012s, patience is required. (AG)" (01/2015) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Aromas of raspberry, rose petal and spices are complemented by subtle oakiness. Juicy, bright and classically dry, with mod...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is at once spicy yet relatively restrained with its liqueur-like plum and violet aromas. There is a wonderfully seductive and sophisticated texture to the medium weight flavors that are shaped by impressively fine-grained tannins that contribute all the more to the polished mouth feel of the complex, balanced and strikingly long finish. This is terrific and if this can add just a bit more depth it might just catch the Allen in time. I should note that here too there is a hint of warmth but it is markedly less no...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "The winery’s second vintage from this site, Calegari is medium- weight, with structured oak and a silky palate. It’s a ripe expression of anise and red cherry that’s juicy, spicy and complex, with pretty violet aromas. *Editors' Choice* (VB)" (03/2015) 91 points Vinous: "Bright ruby. Perfumed scents of raspberry, cherry and smoky minerals, with a sexy floral quality building with air. Shows darker fruit character on the palate, along with notes of candied rose and cola. Closes with excellent clarity, chewy tannins and a ling...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in 2019 with eight grams per liter dosage, the 2012 Brut Millésimé offers up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and clear honey, complemented by hints of toasted bread, citrus zest and linden. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and a pinpoint mousse, it's more generous and demonstrative than the 2008, but it will nonetheless reward a bit of bottle age. (WK)" (03/2021)

92 points James Suckling: "A solid Cabernet with mineral, black currants and Asian mushroom. Full body, firm tannins and and long finish. Shows tension and style. " (07/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon offers plenty of crème de cassis and spring flower characteristics as well as beautiful density, sweet tannin and good underlying structure as well as definition. Aged 18 months in French oak, it is a beautiful example of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk young, but will be even better in 3-4 ...

88-90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Deep ruby color. A deft touch of wood surrounds the ripe and very fresh black raspberry, earth and discreet floral nuances. There is the same attractive freshness and sense of tension to the medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine minerality on the muscular, even robust finish that is quite firmly structured. This is a big and extracted wine in the context of what is typical for Beaune and clearly built to age." (04/2014) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Less primary fruit ...

94 points James Suckling: "This has a very fresh and pure, lemony nose and is completely mouth-filling. Then it freshens and composes and takes a fine, flinty, acidity-chiseled and dry ride to the finish. Super refreshing and saline. From biodynamically grown grapes – 55% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay and 20% pinot meunier." (07/2019) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Coming after 2006 and 2009, this is the third vintage of Roederer’s Brut Nature, a wine Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon makes in collaboration with Philippe Starck. Its production is determined by the year...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It’s a particularly good sign when all I want to do is smell the wine in the glass. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Dubrul Vineyard has me entranced under its spell with aromas of fig, toffee, dried cherries and plum skin with elegant baking spices and dried purple flowers that lift the expression out of the glass. Medium-bodied, with 13.6% alcohol and no hard edges, the wine continually reveals layers of complexity and elegance in a seemingly endless parade of precision and finesse. Even though this is almost a deca...

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Château Rayas "La Pialade" Côtes du Rhône. Château Rayas is among the indisputable royalty in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the prices that their wines command reflect this reverence among collectors and aficionados. However, they also make a handful of thoroughly outstanding bottlings from their younger vines under a Côtes du Rhône AOC designation. La Pialades is composed almost entirely of fruit from young Grenache vines with a touch of both Syrah and Cinsault. The Châteauneuf wines from Rayas are famous for their refined elegance and structure, and this CdR is no different. It's a wine that is ageworthy far beyond its supposed level quality (by AOC standards, anyway), and it's a remarkable introduction to the essence of one of the world's greatest domaines.
Starting Bid: $95.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Aubert "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay ((96-98RP), 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons (1, 000 cases) comes from a 4-acre vineyard that produces nearly 1, 000 cases. The straw color reveals a greenish hue, and the wine bursts from the glass with notes of exotic fruits, wet stones, limes and white peaches. It has a kinship to a great Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. (RP)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2012 Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94W&S). Wine & Spirits: Beringer has made wine from Knights Valley, northwest of Napa, since the late 1970s, and now farms 500 acres of grapes on the cobbly soils that have sloughed off of the volcanic hillsides above. This 2012 is a bundle of energy, the structure tight and stony, the fruit pure, its bold and refreshing black raspberry tone interlaced with aromas that suggest resinous pine needles and a hint of smoked tea. It’s bright and accessible enough to decant now, but in ten years, it will be a rich, savory pleasure to open for prime rib. (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $100.00
