95 points James Suckling: "The aromas of tar, spice, black currant, blueberry and cedar follow through to a full body with ultra-polished tannins and pointed flavors. Exceptional balance and finesse. Better in 2019 but already gorgeous." (05/2016) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon, which used to be a proprietary blend and had a somewhat rustic, Italian personality, has now been put under the Inglenook Vineyard designation. Where the Cabernet Sauvignon was a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Fra...

This wine is created by the epic winemaking team of Frank and Kathy Dotzler (Outpost), Mark Pulido and Donna Walker (Pulido-Walker), and Thomas Rivers Brown. The Napa Wine Project writes: "The 2012 Mending Wall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was made with fruit from both valley floor and hillside locations within Napa. It is dark in the glass with a ripe but not an overripe bouquet that shows plum and black cherry aromas. There is a sweet core to the nose (think warm cherry pie) with some holiday spices showing, perhaps cinnamon and just a touch of mocha...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. This is a killer, full-bodied, super-duper, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2014) 96 points Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is another wine endowed with fabulous overall balance. Hints of blueberry pie, jam, mo...

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Justi Creek Vineyard is the richest and inkiest of these three wines. Blue and black-toned fruits, lavender, smoke, violets and leather all blossom in a rich, pliant Cabernet. The Justi Creek is quite a bit sweeter and opulent through the mid-palate and finish. This opulent, intense Cabernet should offer a wide window of fabulous drinking pretty much upon release. (AG)" (01/2015) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new offering, or at least the first time I’ve tasted it, is the 275-case 2012 ...

Established in 1997 as an offshoot of Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel makes single-vineyard, varietal wines. This comes from the 43-acre Tench Vineyard on the eastern edge of Oakville along the Silverado Trail with red, rocky clay and volcanic rock soils. Nickel & Nickel uses just nine acres of this late-ripening vineyard. From the producer: "The 43-acre Tench Vineyard is situated on the eastern edge of Oakville along the Silverado Trail. The area’s red, rocky soils of clay and volcanic rock have produced many famous Napa Valley Cabernets. Nickel & Nickel pr...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Pleasant, firm, rich and deftly balanced, this offers a mix of ripe dark berry, cedary oak and black licorice flavors, leading to a long, pure finish that tightens toward the end. (JL)" (04/2015) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(from the property next to the winery, north of St. Helena; aged in 40% new oak): Good red-ruby. Plum, redcurrant and nutty oak aromas are lifted by a spicy topnote. Offers good intensity and a creamy texture to its red berry and mint flavors. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins. These ...

Named after Bill and Alicia Deems' first-born daughter, Cuvée Katrina Eileen is primarily composed of fruit from a vineyard in the Western Hills of Yountville, where yields are miniscule. The extremely rocky soil of the vineyard produces concentrated clusters of perfectly ripened Cabernet Sauvignon. In German, the name “Katrina” represents purity and fittingly, this wine is made entirely from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, providing a pure expression of this decadent varietal. It also said to reflects their daughter’s personality with flavors that are com...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From his nearly six acres of Cabernet Sauvignon planted with Margaux cuttings near Vineyard 29 and Colgin’s Tychson Hill vineyards, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Morlet Estate (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) displays the vintage’s open, opulent, plush personality. With exceptional intensity, plenty of crème de cassis, vanillin, floral and lead pencil notes, this full-bodied 2012 offers low acidity as well as impressive flavors. There are 275 cases of this gorgeous red. It should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2014...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "True to the vintage, it is dramatic, ostentatious, savory and opulent. Its dense purple color is accompanied by sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with notions of graphite, chocolate and vanillin. Lush, pure and voluptuously textured, it is an irresistible Cabernet to drink over the next 12-15+ years. (RP)" (10/2014) 93 points Vinous: "A dark, sumptuous beauty, the 2012 is primary and quite seamless for a Howell Mountain wine. Dark blue and black fruit, grilled herbs, menthol, sweet tobacco and ...

Elegance and beauty for a Schrader. " (07/2015) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Starts out bold and assertive, with rich dark berry, cedar and nutmeg flavors, revealing touches of espresso, mocha and melted black licorice. Winery notes: "G Major 7 Study Cabernet Sauvignon is blended from selected fruit off the 575 ovx vineyard and is named after a classic jazz guitar chord. Like its namesake, it is composed of four of the five classic Bordeaux varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Merlot. G Major 7 is highly nuanced and provides a profound sense of elegance and complexity, changing with every swirl and sip. The nose reflects subtle floral notes, which develop into deep, crushed berry and earth flavors on the palate. Its tannins are refined and se...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From multiple AVAs, such as Coombsville, Rutherford and St. Helena, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a sleeper of the vintage. Veeder is another glorious example of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, its opaque purple color is followed by a meaty, bloody, prime rib-like character intermixed with crème de cassis and floral notes. Deep, full-bodied, opulent and incredibly intense and pure, it is superb example of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With the lowest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in of any of the wines from this vertical, the 2012 final blend was 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Production across the board in 2012 was high, and reflected in the 3, 977 cases made at Spottswoode. This is a dramatic, flamboyant, modern-day version of the 2002. Dramatic blueberry, black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, along with camphor, charcoal, white flowers and foresty notes all emerge from the impressive aromatics that soar from the glass. The intense, explosively rich, full-bodied palate is layered with beautiful purity, stunningly sweet, silky tannins and terrific presence and complexity. This is a gorgeous wine on a relatively fast evolutionary track, I suspect, but certainly it has 30 years of upside left. (RP)" (08/2016)
Starting Bid: $465.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 MacDonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96DC, 95VN). Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Switchback Ridge "Peterson Family Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As difficult as it may be to believe, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Peterson Family Vineyard may be even better than the Merlot. Glorious notes of forest floor, blackcurrants, blackberries, mocha and espresso emerge from this full-bodied, majestically concentrated wine boasting an expansive, broad texture, stunning purity, a 50-second finish, enormous body, and no sense of overbearing, over-ripeness or heaviness. Alcoholphobes should not be concerned about the wine’s 15.5% alcohol content as there is not a trace of heat in the fresh flavors. (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $245.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Scarecrow "M. Etain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon M. Etain is in essence a second wine, but it sure doesn’t taste like one. Its deep purple color is followed by pure black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, dusty, loamy soil notes, extraordinary depth of fruit, ripeness and good acidity. One of the classic wines of Napa Valley, Scarecrow’s Cabernet Sauvignons are made by well-known winemaking consultant Celia Welch. This historic vineyard in Rutherford, which owns some of the oldest vines in all of Napa, continues to turn out some of Napa’s most profound Cabernet Sauvignons. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96JS, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon emerges from another first-growth vineyard that was acquired by Andy Beckstoffer in 1993, and planted with multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. The original vineyard was planted in 1868, but the present one consists of nearly 90 acres. The 2012 reveals incredible complexity and density with notes of Christmas fruitcake, baking spices, licorice, crème de cassis and forest floor. Full-bodied with the vintage’s opulence and drama, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was fashioned from Clones 4 and 337. (RP) 97+" (10/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Ovid "Experiment No. V6.2" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Sometimes the best recipes are the ones concocted on the fly - a little of this, a dash of that. Well, winemakers engage in the same type of creativity that many of us do in the kitchen, though we're not usually privy to the final result. Ovid's "Experiment" wines are a chance to taste the process - a little vinous insight into explorations of the winery's vineyards and winemaking. Each offering is unique. This is a blend of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, with the addition of almost 20% Petit Verdot.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Paul Hobbs "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 94JS, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Of the three Beckstoffer Vineyards, it’s pretty much a joyride as to which one readers may prefer. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane moves more toward the wet rock, blueberry, raspberry fruit spectrum, but still stays dark and foreboding, very concentrated and full-bodied. The great terroir comes through and the wine is distinctive, singular, opulent and rich. Another fabulous success from Paul Hobbs and one more showcase wine for this great vineyard. (RP)" (10/2014)
