Top Pick!
It has been quite some time since we've had an official Highland Park Single Cask straight from the distillery and we are thrilled to offer this at the sharpest pricing we've seen in the program in years. This epic first fill full sized European oak sherry butt delivers a massive Orkeny experience at a whopping 66.1% ABV. If you have enjoyed the wines of Lallement, Bollinger and Krug in the past, we think you will very much enjoy Michel Arnould. They are bold, masculine Champagnes with plenty of toasty flavor. This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, entirely from estate vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzenay. Verzenay is the northernmost of all the Grand Crus in this northernmost of French wine regions. The whole village faces north—the wrong way, away from the sun—and yet miraculously ripens Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Some say it's because of a meteor that,...

2011 Sapaio Bolgheri Superiore
Back In Stock!
93 points James Suckling: "There's plenty of mineral, currant and dried-flower character. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Always a serious Bordeaux blend here. Better in 2016." (10/2014) 91 points Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Bolgheri Superiore Sapaio is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months (in 80% new oak). This is a unique wine, aromatically speaking, with tangy notes of exotic spice and Asian barbecue. Savory dried meat and teriyaki are backed by a high degree of black fruit, blackberr...

96 points James Suckling: "The dried-mango and pineapple character is so delicious in this wine. It’s full-bodied and medium-sweet, with a pretty density and a fruity finish. Wonderful balance to this super Sauternes. This is a little in reserve now, with so much for the future." (10/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "A big, broad, powerful style, with piecrust, roasted almond and hazelnut cream notes framing the core of apricot, creamed peach and dried mango. Picks up extra fig and pear details through the toasty finish. Needs a bit of time to finish so...

93 points Wine Advocate: "First up and seriously perfumed, the 2011 Pinot Noir de Villiers is a gorgeous wine that excels both for its complexity and for its richness and breath on the palate. Giving up notes of ripe cherries, wild strawberries, exotic flowers, citron and spice, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a core of sweet fruit and a rich, seamless texture. In fact, it has a rare level of depth and texture in the vintage, and while beautiful today, I imagine it will evolve gracefully. (JD)" (08/2014) 90 points Vinous: "Bright red cherries, c...

93 points John Gilman: "The 2011 pinot noir from John Thomas is a very fine bottle in the making, but out of magnum it is still on the young side and deserves more time in the cellar. This is a cooler vintage in Oregon (as it was in California as well) and the wines are still on the young side, but in regular-sized formats they are starting to blossom nicely. However, in magnums, time is still needed. The classy bouquet here wafts from the glass in a blend of strawberries, beetroot, woodsmoke, a fine base of soil, lovely spice tones and a very discreet f...

90 points James Suckling: "A clean and firm red with blackberry, chocolate and stone character. Medium body. Delicious. Very well done for this vintage. Better than I remember." (03/2018) Wine Advocate: "A tasty, fleshy, seductive wine, the 2011 Viaud reveals lots of mocha, kirsch and licorice notes in its medium-bodied, soft, plush personality." (04/2014) K&L Notes: Known for their practice of holding back vintages to maturity, this small but high-quality Lalande-de-Pomerol producer crafts some best-in-class wines that are often tough to find but re...

2011 Realm Cellars "The Bard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Back In Stock!
90 points Vinous: "The 2011 The Bard is soft, floral and easygoing, with lovely bright red berry fruit. Wild flowers, savory herbs and mint add freshness to this pretty, nuanced wine. The 2011 is super-expressive and very pretty, but it is also a bit lithe. I wouldn't push my luck too much further with aging. All things considered, the Bard is a fine effort in this very challenging vintage. (AG)" (03/2022) Wine Spectator: "Tight, rich and distinctive, offering a tannic mix of black licorice, damp earth and dried dark berry notes, with chewy tannins tha...

2011 Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
95 points Int'l Wine Cellar: "Pristine aromas of cassis, raspberry liqueur, blueberry, licorice and graphite. Outstanding inner-mouth energy gives this extremely dense wine a wonderfully light touch. The sappy, dry flavors of slightly high-toned red and black fruits are complicated by a saline quality. Wonderfully velvety in the middle palate but dry, classic and still a bit youthfully clenched on the chewy, extremely long back end, where the harmonious tannins coat the front teeth. An outstanding Bordeaux-like wine that may well merit an even higher rat...

2011 Realm "The Falstaff" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Back In Stock!
91 points Vinous: "The 2011 Falstaff wraps around the palate with plum, mocha, espresso, licorice and menthol. A decidedly rich, voluptuous wine for the year, the 2011 stands out for its pure texture, immediacy and grace. There are no angular contours whatsoever in this supremely inviting Cabernet Franc-based red. Today, the 2011 is a bit tight, but it should soften with further time in bottle. In 2011, the blend is 60% Cabernet Franc (from Englehard) and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon (from Blair and Dr. Crane). (AG) 91+" (11/2013) Wine Spectator: "Well-propo...

2011 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Back In Stock!
93 points Vinous: "Realm's 2011 The Tempest is gorgeous. Bright red fruit, sweet spices, wild flowers and mint are all very much alive in this pointed, articulate Merlot-based red. This is one of the more feminine, gracious wines in the range. Raspberries, rose petals and cinnamon linger on a finish underpinned with bright, saline nuances. In 2011, Tempest is pure class. What a gorgeous, delicious wine this is. The Realm shows just how favored Merlot was in 2011. The blend is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Cabernet Franc. (AG)" (11/2013) 92 poin...

99 points James Suckling: "This wine has exceptional clarity, balance and freshness, with lots of spicy botrytis character. Full body, medium-sweet and a crisp finish. It’s racy and refined. What’s impressive is the intensity of noble rot that makes the wine feel almost dry. This is the greatest wine ever made here. Made from organic grapes." (01/2014) 97 points Wine Spectator: "A large-scale version, with seamlessly layered notes of almond cream, apricot, ginger, mango, piecrust, papaya and toasted hazelnut. The long, spice-infused finish shows ample ...

2011 Louise Brulez "Germain Brulez" Champagne Magnum 1.5L
New!
This magnum was aged an additional five years compared to the 750 before release! It was made in the most expensive way possible and is composed of half each chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The entire Brison estate is organic, and the wine is entirely barrel fermented. No detail is forgotten in making the vintage wines here, as the owner, Delphine Brulez, has a diploma in oenology. Only because of a direct buy are we able to offer a Champagne like this at such a fair price! -Gary Westby, K&L

92 points Wine Advocate: "Francois Cotat’s 2011 Sancerre La Grand Cote – like its Monts Damnes counterpart – finished dry and with around 14.5% alcohol. Musky and otherwise haunting flora scents suggestive of narcissus, peony, and rowan are joined by grapefruit and herbal essences for a striking nose; then reemerge on a silken, expansive, succulent Persian melon- and bittersweet nut-oil-informed palate. It’s amazing the sense of primary juiciness and transparency to floral, nutty, herbal, and stony nuances conveyed in the long finish here, despite the wi...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Solo comes from the winery's estate vineyard, the third vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in the Stags Leap District. It is elegant and old-school in style, pretty in violets and red berries, with a juicy, soft texture. It begs for steak. (VB)" (02/2015)

95 points James Suckling: "A traditional beauty that effuses iron, warm earth and savory tobacco leaves, together with plums, spices and orange zest. This is juicy and still tight, with firm but savory tannins. Medium-weight and quite zesty in texture, as is the case with the other López de Heredia reds tasted this session." (06/2022) 95 points Tim Atkin: "Aged for nearly six years in very old barrels, Tondonia is one of Rioja's most proudly traditional wines. Tempranillo dominated, with 20% Garnacha and 5% of both Graciano and Mazuelo, this is compl...

91 points Vinous: "The 2011 Rompecabezas comes across as a bit floral and fleeting in this vintage. The distinct floral and savory notes are there, but I see less concentration and depth overall relative to the best years. My sense is that the 2011 is a wine to drink sooner rather than later given its medium-bodied structure. (AG)" (11/2013) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Dense, rich and meaty, offering a muscular core of crushed rock, dried dark berry, black licorice and cigar box notes. This is drying on the finish, with tannins giving the flavors tract...

2011 Calera "Mills" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (1.5L) (Previously $200) (Previously $200)

93 points Vinous: "One of the more subtle wines in the range, the 2011 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard impresses for its sense of proportion and balance. Nothing is out of place. Black cherries, plums, crushed flowers, mint and anise develop in the glass, but ultimately the Mills is mostly about sensual, radiant texture. The highly expressive, lifted finish is a thing of beauty. There is so much to admire here. In 2011, these own-rooted vines yielded a wine of true delicacy and finesse. 2011 Port Charlotte 11 Year Old "Dramfool's Jim McEwan Signature Collection 6.2" First Fill Bourbon Barrel Cask #2125 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Top Pick!
Jim McEwan: "Aromas - Opens beautifully on a brilliant combination of peat embers and a spicy sweetness encapsulated in a cradle of sweet mellow oak with a drift of the Ocean bringing a freshness seldom found in many whiskies matured full term by the Atlantic. Palate - The sweetness of the malted barley works wonderfully with the spiciness from the bourbon soaked staves. Add to that peat fire embers and the marine overture all held in a halo of mellow oak. It envelopes the taste buds like a warm peat fire on a stormy night as the wind and rain batters th...

2011 Louis M. Martini "Lot #1" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (heavily stained labels)
New!
91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "High ripeness and extract may not have been the norm in 2011, but this robust, fully expressed offering proves that the vintage is not so singularly defined. It is a big, sprawling wine that verges on excess at every stop, but it is absolutely bursting with fruit and sports sweeping Cabernet character, and it somehow avoids going over the brink. It is ripe, it is hot and it is utterly lacking in grace, and it will delight fans of powerhouse, ageworthy reds that refuse to be ignored. *Two Stars*" (12/2014) 90 points Wine A...

Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of redcurrant, cherry, floral oils and minerals. At once silky and penetrating, offering vibrant red fruit and bitter blood orange flavors that gain sweetness with air. The mineral note comes back strong on the persistent finish, which is firmed by fine-grained, harmonious tannins. Shows the best traits of the vintage: elegance, precision and f...

Then the sweetness of the toasted barley and mellow oak drift in bringing with them little hints of bourbon spiciness laid down by the first spirit matured in the cask. “Its gentle on my mind” Taste - The spirit is balanced & restrained on the palate. 94 points Wine Advocate: "A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and a splash of Syrah (10%) that was first made in 2010, the 2011 The Lovers has some solid Cayuse funk, with copious peat moss, herbs, mineral and violets balanced nicely by black-cherry-styled fruit. Medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely textured, it offers plenty of up-front appeal yet should also evolve gracefully. (JD)" (06/2014) 93 points Int'l Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. 94 points Vinous: "In keeping with the style of the year, the 2011 Barolo Monvigliero is a bit fleshier and more overt than it usually is. The aromatic signatures are very much present though, accentuated by the inclusion of 100% whole clusters. At the same time, the 2011 offers gorgeous depth and resonance, not to mention superb overall balance. Savory herbs, olives and herbs inform the pungent finish. Burlotto's Monvigliero remains one of the most distinctive and compelling wines being made in Barolo today. This is impressive juice. (AG)" (03/2015) 9...

92 points Vinous: "Graphite, pencil shavings, cassis, leather, cedar and grilled herbs are all super-expressive in the 2011 Rudd Oakville Estate Red. The high percentage of Cabernet Franc gives the 2011 gorgeous aromatic lift and considerable finesse. Naturally, this is a more slender wine than usual, but the 2011 emphasizes balance over pure power, and it works. Beautifully so. (AG) 92+" (12/2014)

(KM)" (02/2014) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a very dry, firm wine that's solidly tannic but never harsh. 93 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Whatever the challenges that the vintage may have posed, there is little evidence of any difficulty here, and the wine speaks of very deep and defined Syrah fruit with a great sense of implied strength and reserve. It is rich, full and specific with a wealth of spice and sweet oak in league with its concentrated, optimally ripened fruit, and, as is the case with Dehlinger's best wines, it is exceptionally well-balanced for the big wine that it is. It is not abrasively tannic, yet it has the sturdy structure of wine in want ...

Top Pick!
Jim McEwan: "Colour - Summer Barley Fields Aromas & Taste - It detonates on a combination of smoke, storm lashed seaweed and allspice, followed by the sweetness of charred oak sugars and the sweet spicy residue from the bourbon that first filled the cask. Its a unique olfactory experience, lots going on with the oak holding the big aromas in check and allowing the quality of distillate to shine through which also highlights the skills of the team who work away quietly without computers. Quite juicy, fresh and bright on the palate with a tangy, zesty palate, full of berries and oranges. Firm, long and complex with a mouthwatering finish. Such a traditional taste! Drink now or hold." (09/2022) 92 points Wine Advocate: "2011 was a warmer and riper year, but there's not a huge difference between the 2011 Viña Bosconia Reserva and the 2010; this is perhaps mellower, with more integrated acidity. 93-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Easily the most rich and concentrated, the 2011 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes might just be the wine of the vintage. A blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and the balance a mix of varieties, aged 25% in barrel (40% of which are new), it offers up aromas of blackberry liqueur, roasted meats, graphite, licorice, and wet stone-like minerality. 93 points Vinous: "A soft, open Barolo, the 2011 Monfalletto captures the breadth and generosity of the year in spades. Dark cherry, plum, spice, tobacco and leather are some of the notes that blossom in the glass, but the Monfalletto is above all else a wine of volume and pure textural resonance. Although quite open and juicy now, the 2011 has enough stuffing to drink well for many, many years. Now that the Monfalletto has been bottled, it is even better than it was from tank. On this day, I actually preferred it to the Bricco Gattera. (AG) " (11/2014)...

(MK)" (12/2014) 92 points Wine Advocate: "An interesting blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 35% Grenache and the balance Syrah, the 2011 Infidels has a serious floral streak to go with plenty of currant and darker berry fruit, scorch...

89-91 points Burghound: "More moderate though far from invisible wood surrounds notes of menthol and cool cherry aromas slides gracefully into supple, vibrant and attractively rich and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a lovely mouth feel thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins. Despite their fine grain the admirably long finish is notably firm and this will require most of a decade to arrive at its peak." Scents – and thereafter, bitter-sweetly pungent palate presence – of coriander, cardamom, caraway and sage, are allied to succulent Persian melon and lightly cooked apple. There is a faint suggestion of sweetness, reportedly a function of the alcohol and fruit personality rather than above-threshold residual sugar. T...
