94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Kiser En Bas caresses the palate with layers of round, highly expressive fruit. The higher percentage of clay in this part of the vineyard gives the wine an additional layer of breadth and richness that is striking. Clean veins of underlying minerality add intensity and drive. Black cherries, plums, spices and minerals wrap around the long, insistent finish. (AG)" (02/2012) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. Showing more cherry and dark fruit character than th...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Wentzel emerges from the glass with heady dark cherries, spices, licorice and new leather. This is one of the more textured 2009s Pinots at Copain. Waves of fruit flow effortlessly to the long, pure finish. The Wentzel is slightly closed at present, but it shows fabulous length and should drink beautifully once the layers of flavor flesh out over time. The finish remains totally soft and inviting. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (AG)" (02/2012) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine ...

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay is a soft, caressing wine. The bouquet is open and expressive, while the fruit reveals considerable nuance. There is a hint of firmness to the tannins, but there is enough fruit to provide balance. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (NM)" (05/2011) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Pretty, floral aromas of red raspberry and cherry. Smooth, pure and fruit-driven, with good lift and underlying spiciness. Not particularly sweet or fleshy but juicy and bright, with a firm, pe...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru (94BH, 93RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully layered, even perfumed nose of plum, underbrush and very ripe red currant merges into seductively textured but firm and powerful flavors blessed with an abundance of structure-buffering extract on the mouth coating finish. This is a notably robust effort that is given shape by the very firm but buried tannins and I like the excellent balance. This big-bodied effort really fans out on the gorgeously long finish and it should be capable of aging very well over the next 12 to 15 years." (01/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 DuMol Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (90CG, 90JS). James Suckling: "A solid wine with dried strawberry and cherry character with hints of lemons and dried meat that follow through to a full body, with medium chewy tannins and a fruity finish. Robusto fruity style but some balance at the same time. Lovers of fruit-forward Pinot will like this." (06/2012)
