92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated red. Captivating aromas of cherry-cola, pepper, Indian spices, cocoa powder and sandalwood. Then intense, spicy and penetrating in the mouth, with vibrant raspberry and wild strawberry flavors dominating. Finishes pungent, spicy and long, with a palate-staining whiplash of flavor. (ST)" (06/2010) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "You don’t want to drink this wine now. It’s way too tannic, which also accentuates the acidity. It all makes for a tough palate experience, despite rich raspberry, che...

92-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby-colored 2008 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard (a 10-acre parcel planted at 1,400 feet) possesses a big, sweet, powerful nose of raspberries, spring flowers, damp earth, and mossy, foresty vegetation. Sweet currants, pomegranates, and black raspberries also emerge on the palate of this full-bodied effort. With excellent acidity and delineation as well as a weighty, long, rich mouthfeel with lots of structure and tannin, this enormously promising wine suggests a long life if stored in a cold cellar. 2008 Gallica Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (scuffed label)
New!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Gallica is slightly more structured and restrained. A blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, production is 50% higher than it was in 2007 (165 cases). This deep purple wine exhibits some notes of subtle barbecue smoke intermixed with black currants, blackberries, licorice, a hint of white chocolate, and some crushed rocks. Impressively endowed and full-bodied, with the tannins slightly more elevated, this wine will benefit from several years of bottle age and again...

93 points Vinous: "Orange peel, crème brulée, lemon confit, spice and smoke notes are some of the signatures in the 2008 Chardonnay The Tributary Estate Vineyard. Ample and broad on the palate, the 2008 is close to mature in its flavors but has more than enough body and weight to hold on for another few years. (AG)" (02/2016) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Chardonnay The Tributary Vineyard possesses concentrated white currant, white peach, pear, honeyed citrus, lemon blossom and crushed rock characteristics as well as a liqueur of m...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The vineyard lies between Freestone and Bodega Bay, one of the coolest parts of the far Sonoma Coast. The wine is fairly pale for a California Pinot Noir, with nuanced flavors of toast, spices, raspberries and persimmons, in a silky, vibrant texture." (07/2011) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Highly complex nose combines cherry, raspberry, spices, flowers, minerals, orange peel and sexy soil tones. Then supple and scented in the mouth, with subtle, delicate flavors of red fruits, tea a...

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Casa Piena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94WS, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slightly better (which is no surprise, since it appears to be an impressive work in progress) is the 2008 Casa Piena. Production in this vintage is slightly higher as well. This wine displays similar character, with more unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with creme de cassis, camphor, graphite, and some subtle earthiness. Opaque ruby/purple, medium to full-bodied, layered, and opulent, this is a beauty as well, but slightly richer and potentially more complex than the brilliant 2007. This is an impressive newcomer, so take note! A new project, and an impressive one at that, Casa Piena is owned by former lawyer and football executive for the San Francisco 49ers, Carmen Policy. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Quivet "Kenefick Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Kenefick Ranch is planted on prime real estate, close to the famous Eisele Vineyard, on the western slope of the Palisades mountain range in Calistoga. This benchland vineyard is known for ripening grapes earlier than most of Napa, and Quivet sources the best fruit from the premium block on its eastern side. Hand-crafted by winemaker Mike Smith, who's been at the helm of such wineries as Maybach, Schrader, and Rivers Marie.
