96 points Wine Enthusiast: "While still young, this Champagne has all the makings of greatness. Produced from grand cru vineyards, it already balances ripe white fruits with a firm structure that will age well. It’s relatively dry and has plenty of acidity, which will also aid in the longevity.. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2019) K&L Notes: This all Grand Cru blend, which is composed of 50% each Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is the best I have ever tasted from Laurent-Perrier, and should go the distance if you decide to cellar it. Don't miss this fantasti...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Beautifully floral, fragrant and evocative, with lush and complex aromas of honeycomb, cracker and citrus, carrying into the mouth with rich, bright, detailed flavors. Stone and mineral elements are woven throughout, and the barrel fermentation adds hints of toast. *Editors' Choice* (PG)" (03/2010) K&L Notes: 69% Sémillon, 26% Sauvignon and 5% Muscadelle

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Made by what is one of Italy's best co-operative cellars, this riserva from the legendary Rio Sordo vineyard offers intense underbrush aromas of truffle, pine forest, leather and balsamic notes. The palate has a core of juicy black cherries layered with cinnamon-spice and shows plenty of depth. Drink this after 2018 to let it develop more complexity. (KO)" (09/2013) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Graphite and mineral aromas and flavors turn into cherry, licorice and sandalwood in this muscular, savory red, which is pungent and d...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Giusto di Notri is wonderfully alive in the glass. Dark red berries, flowers, spices, grilled herbs, licorice and leather are some of the notes that flesh out in this dazzling, vibrant Giusto di Notri. Polished tannins provide the backdrop for the silky, expressive finish. A final blast of red fruit adds freshness and brightness on the close. Giusto di Notri is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028. (AG)" (08/2011) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's Internat...

2008 Buty "Columbia Rediviva" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah (1.5L) (Previously $100+) (Previously $100+)
New!
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Syrah—this is a focused wine, with complex nuances of licorice, tar, mineral and lead pencil, but it is buttressed by the compact, concentrated red and black fruits. The dusty tannins are reminiscent of a Napa wine, with excellent length and polish. *Cellar Selection* " (07/2012) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Dense and focused, with fine, chewy tannins around a core of savory cherry, plum and herb flavors, hinting at game bird and fresh mushroom as the finish lingers expressively. 96 points James Suckling: "Love the aromas of blackberries, licorice and lightly toasted oak. Full bodied, with velvety tannins and a rich finish. Ripe tannins with a beautiful polished. Vanilla. Will come together with bottle age. Very serious as always. Such class and complexity." (08/2011) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Vintner Elisabetta Geppetti’s Saffredi is part cult wine and part mainstream blockbuster in that the wine enjoys worldwide fame, but few know it well. This vintage is soft and luscious, with loads of dark chocolate, cherry, blackberry, ...

94 points James Suckling: "Taking on a balsamic and high-toned wood character to the ripe fruit on the nose. Some dried cheese and ripe fruit, too. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins that are polished and fine. Goes on for minutes. A beautiful, traditional wine, as always. Drink or hold." (09/2020) K&L Notes: 96 points Tim Atkin "Bosconia faces south and has plenty of fruit sweetness, even in a very cool Atlantic vintage like 2008. Combining Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, it’s a delightfully subtle, traditional Rioja. Reserva t...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The single-vineyard 2008 Cortona Syrah Migliara fleshes out beautifully in the glass with layers of dark red fruit that fill out the wine’s broad shouldered frame nicely. The Migliara is at once more perfumed and higher toned than Il Bosco, with an expression of fruit that tends towards the red end of the spectrum. Fine, polished tannins round out the creamy finish. Here, too, the wine remains extremely primary with little in the way of aromatic development or complexity at this early stage. A small amount of Vio...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current vintage of the special cuvée is the 2008 Kripta, a classical blend of the local grapes Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada aged in contact with the lees in bottle for a long time, no less than five years, during which time the bottle is closed with a cork (it's usually a crown stopper). Apparently this gives the wine a different character and is the way it was traditionally done. This is a polished Cava with yeast and brioche aromas and a soft palate with clean, developed flavors and integrated acidity. A ...

95 points James Suckling: "Lots of dried fruit with plum, light raisin, chocolate and toasted oak. Some balsamic undertones. White truffles and dried flowers. Medium body, creamy tannins and savory, balsamic undertones. Extreme and unique, as always." (11/2020) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The nose of the 2008 Viña Tondonia Reserva is very elegant, fresh and with an herbal twist, starting to show the complexity of the aged wines that are sometimes still too young when they are released 10+ years from the vintage! The palate is medium-bodie...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of roasted herb, dried currant, sage and underbrush are full-bodied and complex, savory and alluring, approachable already. (JL)" (11/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both [2007 & 2008] of these Cabernet Sauvignons are soft, elegant, dark ruby/plum/garnet-colored, evolved, medium-bodied efforts with attractive notes of spice, earth, red and black currants intermixed with herbs and background oak... 95 points James Suckling: "Wow. This is really powerful, with aromas of blueberries and blackberries and hints of spices. Then there is an earthy, meaty undertone. Full body, with velvety tannins and a fruity finish. Focused and solid. Very structured. Best in 2015." (08/2011) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Orma is striking in this vintage. 2008 Buty (Connor Lee - Champoux Vineyards) Columbia Valley Merlot - Cabernet Franc (Previously $40) (Previously $40)
New!
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Buty's Right Bank-ish Merlot/Cab Franc is wild and slightly brambly, with dark streaks of iron and pencil lead, moist earth and herb. Hints of green coffee creep into the finish; this is most definitely a red wine from a cooler site in a cooler vintage, but with the classic structure of Bordeaux. (PG)" (08/2010) K&L Notes: This wine is a blend of 79% Merlot from the Connor Lee Vineyard and 21% Cabernet Franc from Champoux Vineyard.

96 points Decanter: "An undramatic, cloud-filled season came right in a late harvest in October. A textbook cool vintage of great ageing potential. The perfect 50/50 balance of mineral-stamped Chardonnay and powerful, masculine Pinot makes this a champagne for patient drinkers, as it will take time to reach its peak. Vibrant acidity is joined by notes of white flowers and that magnificent mineral structure. (ME)" (06/2018) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Packed with fruit while hinting at mature toastiness, this wine is now in perfect balance. Its white fr...

93 points Decanter: "The aromas are quietly enticing, subtle and savoury. Some blackberry and black cherry fruit overlies the wine’s closely woven, structured, satisfying flavours. There’s nothing ostentatiously voluptuous or sweet about this Bordeaux blend; instead it puts you in mind of field and forest. (AJ)" (09/2016) K&L Notes: Completely sourced from Cain's Spring Mountain estate vineyard, the 2008 Five is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot.

91-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Syrah Garys’ Vineyard’s dense purple color is followed by aromas of sweet camphor, blackberries, cassis, licorice, pepper, and olives. Aged completely in neutral wood, it is an opulent (and) fleshy wine … (RP)" (02/2010) 92 points Vinous: "Opaque ruby with a bright rim. A drop-dead sexy bouquet of red and dark berry scents, with complicating notes of Asian spices, patchouli and dried violet. Sweet black raspberry and mulberry flavors provide excellent palate coverage and pick up notes of olive tapen...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very deep garnet-purple in color the 2008 Grange reveals a truly decadent nose with tons of spices, fruit cake and black & blue fruit compote notes along with nuances of chocolate and potpourri. The full and rich, multi-layered palate has a little oak still showing, it is going through a little bit of a structural stand-out stage, but it doesn't detract on the long and complex finish. It still needs a good few years to develop, though this very opulent, expressive Grange shows the very best of this vintage and t...

99 points James Suckling: "This is an absolutely fabulous red, with incredible concentration but polish and refinement. It’s full-bodied, with wonderful depth of fruit and length. Complex, with minerals, dark fruits, plums and currants. Speechless. It sends chills up my spine. What a wine. It goes on for minutes. Hard to believe that it’s better than the 2007, but it is." (09/2014) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Barolo Riserva Rüncot is an exceptional wine that is only made in the best years. It was produced in 2008, 2010 and 2013. ...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood influence does not dominate the notably ripe purple and blue fruit nose laced with plenty of earth and humus notes that continue onto the fresh, intense and overtly muscular big-bodied flavors that are also quite powerful and culminate in a palate staining finish. This is very Corton in 2008 though not rustic." (01/2010) 91 points John Gilman: "The 2008 Corton was still in cask awaiting bottling at the time of my visit. The bouquet is deep, complex and very vibrant, as it jumps from the glass in a ...

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 Joseph Phelps Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon (a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec) is an impressive version. Their 1975 Cabernet Sauvignon is still alive at age 35. The 2008s dense ruby/purple color is followed by an attractive bouquet of creme de cassis and charcoal. Revealing full-bodied richness and lots of depth, it is one of the finest regular Cabernet Sauvignons Phelps has made in many years. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Lamborn Family Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (94WE). Wine Enthusiast: "Tannic and closed now, this wine has a tough-as-nails astringency that brings to mind an older style of Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, one that required many years of aging. However, this wine is considerably riper and fruitier than anything the mountain used to yield, testimony to modern growing and extractive measures. It is, in a word, delicious, with deep, long blackberry, black currant, crème de cassis and smoke flavors. But, like the 2007, it needs serious time in the cellar. Try after 2018. *Cellar Selection* " (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Catena Zapata "Nicolás Catena Zapata" Bordeaux Blend Mendoza (98RP, 93VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Nicolas Catena Zapata is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Malbec, and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc that spent 24 months in 100% new French oak followed by 24 months in bottle prior to release. It delivers an inviting bouquet of wood smoke, pencil lead, espresso, incense, lavender, black currant, and black cherry. This sets the stage for a full-bodied, powerful yet elegant, beautifully proportioned effort with great depth and volume. It conceals plenty of structure and will effortlessly evolve for 6-8 years, drinking well through 2028, if not longer. (JM)" (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $340.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (OWC - 95DC, 95JD, 95VN, 94JS, 93RP) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2008 Pichon-Baron has a much better bouquet than the 2007 (as you would expect), replete with blackberry, blueberry, minerals and graphite that are all very well defined and focused. The oak here is superbly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, and full of tension and energy. It builds nicely in the mouth, delivering real brightness and vivacity on the finish but retaining that sense of subtle Pauillac austerity. In many ways this is quintessential Pichon-Baron and one of the overachievers in recent years. It comes highly recommended. (NM)" (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $810.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94WS, 93RP, 92ST, 92VN). Wine Spectator: "Pure, rich and polished, which is unusual for this wine at this stage, since it can be quite tannic. Intense, with a fleshy, supple core of blackberry, currant, spice, mineral and wild berry flavors. Full-bodied, picking up a nice fruity lift on the finish. (JL)" (10/2011)

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2008 JC Cellars "Haley - Rockpile Vineyard'' Sonoma County Syrah and 2-bottles of 2008 Jeff Cohn "Sweetwater Springs Vineyard" Russian River Valley Petite Sirah (91RP). Of the 2008 Jeff Cohn "Sweetwater Springs Vineyard" Russian River Valley Petite Sirah, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "From the Russian River, the opaque purple-colored 2008 Petite Sirah Sweetwater Springs possesses massive concentration and depth as well as surprisingly sweet tannins. Starting Bid: $131.00

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Switchback Ridge "Peterson Family Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (94WE, 91ST, 91VN, 91WS, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Put this Cabernet in the cellar for a while. It's dry and very tannic, yet dramatically rich in blackberries, currants, anise biscotti and smoky oak. *Cellar Selection* " (07/2011)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Cain "Five" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend (93DC). Decanter: "The aromas are quietly enticing, subtle and savoury. There’s nothing ostentatiously voluptuous or sweet about this Bordeaux blend; instead it puts you in mind of field and forest. (AJ)" (09/2016)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Jeff Cohn "Stagecoach Vineyard" Napa Valley Marsanne (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A more exotic white, the full-bodied 2008 Marsanne Stagecoach Vineyard exhibits plenty of orange blossom, white currant and acacia flower-like notes in its intense, rich personality. (RP)" (12/2010)
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Revival Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92WS). Wine Spectator: "Ultrarich, extracted and densely flavored, with a core of opulent currant, blackberry and wild berry flavors, teetering on syrupy. Full-blown, yet for all its size and presence, this maintains a graceful balance. From the owners of Flora Springs. (JL)" (11/2011)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JS, 96VN, 95RP, 94WS). James Suckling: "This has a wonderful balance to it. It shows intense aromas of flowers and dark fruits with hints of incense and sandalwood. Changes all the time. Then goes to currants and flowers. Full and firm with a wonderful core of silky tannins that are polished and beautiful. Dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and dark fruit. Solid and firm. You could easy drink this but it has structure for aging as well. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Caberent Franc and 5% Merlot. " (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $5,188.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Jonata "Todos" Santa Ynez Valley Red Blend (95JS, 94JD, 92RP, 91ST). James Suckling: "This has everything growing on the estate in it, but it's predominately Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, though there's even white varieties. Full-bodied with firm tannins and lots of fruit. Spices, coco, light toasted oak and berries. A thoughtful wine with impressive structure. Like the austerity. " (10/2011)
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sean Thackrey "Orion - Rossi Vineyard" St. Helena Red Blend (93VN, 93WE). Vinous: "Cool, highly complex perfume of bitter cherry, flowers, pepper and smoky minerality. Concentrated and firmly built, with blue fruit and smoke flavors accented by pepper and crushed rock. Really lovely precision here for a wine with 15+% alcohol. Finishes powerful, long and youthfully tight, with firm tannins and terrific lift. Exhilarating wine, but more patience will be rewarded. (ST) 93+" (04/2015)
Starting Bid: $60.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend (98VN, 96RP). Vinous: "David Abreu’s 2008 Howell Mountain is in some ways a contrast to the Dunn, but to be honest, I am quite surprised by how similar both wines are. The Abreu has more fruit intensity and sweetness through the mid-palate, but that is about it. Like the Dunn, the Abreu remains quite primary at this stage but has a very bright future. All things considered the 2008s are more similar than dissimilar, which is eye opening. (AG)" (01/2015)
Starting Bid: $231.00

Bid on this magnum of 2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98DC, 95JS, 95RP, 95W&S, 95WS, 93VN). Decanter: "Ridge has long created a Californian classic; that broke all the rules – a Cabernet based wine grown not in Napa but on greenstone- and limestone-rich soils in the remote corners of the Santa Cruz Mountains, aged not in French oak but American. (Though Paul Draper asserts Bordeaux’s use of French oak is a post-World War I turn.) The Merlot comes from plots on heavier soils. It accounts for 28% of the 2008 which, coming after two drought years, shows great meatiness. Amid the youthful oak toast is black tea, anise, cedar shavings and bright currant, plus an intense mineral energy and beautifully finessed tannins. (JB) " (07/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Bizot Echézeaux Grand Cru ((90-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Very mild reduction allows the mix of spicy red and blue Pinot fruit to peek through the funk where the spiciness continues onto the earth suffused flavors that are supported by slightly riper tannins, all wrapped in a deeper, longer and more serious finish where both touches of minerality and austerity surface. This has excellent potential." (01/2010)
Starting Bid: $1,500.00

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2008 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (OWC - 95JS, 93WE, 92RP, 92VN, 91ST, 91WS) in original wood. James Suckling: "Decadent and rich on the nose with lots of ripe fruit and meaty undertones. Almost truffle-like. Full body, lots of ripe tannins and plenty of fruit. Still needs time to soften. Big and juicy for the vintage. Better in 2018 but impressive now." (06/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne (100JD, 100JS, 99DC, 99JG, 99VN, 98RP, 98WE, 97WS). James Suckling: "Disgorged October 2016 and will be the first Cristal to be released ten years from harvest when it is offered in 2018. 35 parcels used from a possible 45 in this vintage. The assemblage is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. This is so fresh and tense and mineral with extremely exuberant Chardonnay notes on the nose of white peach, lemon and yellow grapefruit, and hints of almost brambly sous bois aromas. The yeast characters are also super fresh, and there are subtle woody notes, with a hint of vanilla bean and light spices. The palate is super long, and very pure, powerful and focused. It drives deep and taut. Pinot Noir is a strong core and the Chardonnay sits at the edge offering lemon and white nectarine sorbet flavors. Staggeringly concentrated, yet the balance makes it seem airy and light. Acidity is perfectly positioned, and the power is i

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2008 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac (OWC - 94DC, 91JG, 91ST, 91VN) in original wood. Decanter: "You start to feel the dial turning up the power as this travels through the palate. Even at 10 years old, the tannins go in deep around the fruit, with luscious menthol notes on the finish. This is one of the juiciest of the Pauillacs, with layers of plum fruits, tobacco and melted tannins. It's totally firing on all cylinders, although not a blockbuster, reflective of this vintage. But that means you can drink this now, or you can wait; either way you can enjoy what is going on here. (JA)" (12/2017)
Starting Bid: $526.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 Rubicon Estate "Cask" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (94WE). Wine Enthusiast: "An exceptionally good wine, right up there with the fantastic 2007 Cask. Classic Rutherford Cabernet, dry, softly tannic and delicious, with herb-infused blackberry and cherry fruit. Definitively not in the modern style of fat overripeness, but balanced and elegant. Shows all the hallmarks of an ageable wine, but you can drink it now. It gets better and better as it breathes in the glass." (12/2011)
Starting Bid: $250.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94W&S, 91DC, 91WE). Wine & Spirits: "Like a savory claret pumped up on performance-enhancing California climate, this is nuanced and relatively austere for all its bold, plummy fruit. The supple richness of tannins lends it textural finesse, the quality of Silver Oak that may be most responsible for its legend. The alcohol is finely integrated so as to be imperceptible. Still youthfully floral, this will age with grace." (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino (94JS, 94WS, 93WE, 92VN, 91RP, 91W&S, 90ST). James Suckling: "Extremely fresh and bright with roses, violets and perfume. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a crisp finish. A little fluid in the mid-palate, but love the dusty texture." (06/2018)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Long-Depaquit (Albert Bichot) Chablis "Les Vaillons" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very subtle hint of oak sets off notes of spice, white orchard fruit, acacia and tidal pool notes that are also picked up by the rich and full mineral-infused flavors that possess good volume on the almost painfully intense, tangy and punchy finish. This is relatively open and highly complex already and should be approachable young but age beautifully. In short, this is a knockout. *Outstanding*" (10/2010)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Montrose, St-Estèphe (95DC, 95JS, 94JG, 94RP, 94VN, 94WE, 91WS). James Suckling: "The purity and precision in this wine is very exciting. Medium to full body, firm and chewy tannins and a long finish of currant and spice. Black tea and bark too." (06/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (95JD, 95RP, 95WE, 94JS, 94VN, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The medium to deep garnet colored 2008 Cos d'Estournel is blended of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Pow! The nose explodes with notes of baked cherries, preserved plums, fried herbs, beef drippings and warm cassis with wafts of wood smoke, salami and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and earthy/savory in character, sporting beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing on a lingering mineral note. (LPB)" (11/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Freestone (Joseph Phelps) "Pastorale Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93WE, 92WS, 91CG, 91ST, 90W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "Another terrific wine from this vineyard, following the superb '07. May be a bit less flamboyant, but with better structure, and equally ageable. Dry and full bodied and fairly tannic, it shows powerful cherry and raspberry fruit, smoked meat, sautéed wild mushroom and sandalwood flavors, liberally spiced." (03/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (95ST, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright gold. Wild, complex nose combines orange zest, dried pear, smoky minerals, iodine and a whiff of lees. Deep, stony and precise, with fruit in the background and minerality to the fore. This is a real mouthful of rocks. Becomes spicier and more floral with air and finishes with superb precision and length. " (06/2011)
