2008 Piper-Heidsieck "Cuvée Rare" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Wine Spectator: "Like a stallion out of the gate, this shows an initial explosion of power, in the form of mouthwatering flavors and fine texture, before quickly settling into an elegant gait. The racy acidity is seamlessly knit, buoying the lacy mousse and flavors of cassis, toasted brioche and tangerine, with accents of candied ginger, hazelnut and fleur de sel lingering on the long, creamy finish. (AN)" (12/2020) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The newly released 2008 Brut Cuvée Rare is very promising, unwinding in the glass with...

2008 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Elisabeth" Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)
Top Pick!
98 points Decanter: "A superb vintage of this renowned prestige cuvée, this is made from a base of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, to which is added 9% of red wine. Despite ageing on its lees for 10 years, it remains almost shockingly youthful, its vividly primary flavours of red cherry, strawberry and nectarine wrapped up in a taut, tense frame. It’s silky in texture and intricately complex on the long, elegantly harmonious finish, underlined by a saline chalkiness, and it demonstrates all the requisite completeness and character for long ageing, pro...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Pucelles" (95WE, 94WS, (91-92ST)). Wine Enthusiast: "A fine, elegant wine, with balanced toast and acidity, great ripe apricot flavors along with spice from the toast, acidity, citrus and a hint of ginger. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $442.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Drouhin-Laroze Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The wood treatment that was moderately evident when I originally reviewed this (see herein) has now been almost completely integrated and easily allows the maturing and mostly red berry fruit, spice and earth-scented nose to be appreciated. There is reasonably good richness to the focused and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess good if not truly special depth and persistence on the balanced finish. I was somewhat surprised at how relatively forward this was given that it's from 2008 and in particular, from magnum format. As such it could be enjoyed now though I would be inclined to allow it another 4 to 7 years of cellaring first." (08/2018)
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (95BH, 94ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more open and expressive nose speaks of white flower, white peach and spiced pear before sliding gracefully into delicious, mouth coating and serious big-bodied flavors brimming with dry extract and power on the driving finish. Despite the substantial size and weight, the flavors and finish retain a fine sense of cut while avoiding any sense of heaviness or loss of focus. This is a knockout. *Don't Miss!*" (06/2010)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95BH, 94ST, 93RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A wonderfully, even exuberantly spicy and layered nose speaks of earth, underbrush and a certain animale character on the primarily red berry fruit that moves seamlessly into cool and intensely mineral broad-scaled flavors that are powerful, vibrant and display a saline element on the stylish and classy finish that is presently quite linear and will require plenty of time to flesh out because the suggested initial drinking window is not a typo. *Don't Miss!* " (04/2010)
Starting Bid: $207.62

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Louis Jadot (Domaine des Héritiers) Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Les Demoiselles" (98WS, 97JG, 96RP, 94BH, 94ST). Wine Spectator: "A stunning white, balanced, intense, harmonious, vibrant, complex and long, with a fabulous nose of citronella, peach, hazelnut, biscuit and mineral. (BS)" (06/2012)
Starting Bid: $230.00
