2007 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Louis" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (Previously $170) (Previously $170)
Top Pick!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in October 2018 with seven grams per liter dosage, the 2007 Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Louis Salmon derives from the villages of Cramant, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger, and half of the vins clairs that went into the blend were vinified in older barrels. It's still tightly wound, even after over a year on cork, unfurling in the glass with a delicate bouquet of crisp yellow apple, Meyer lemon, blanched almonds, elderflower and crushed chalk. Medium to full-bodied, deep and searingly intense, it's seamless ...

2007 Balcom Family "Mascaret" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Previously $125) (Previously $125)
Top Pick!
We recently received a parcel of these beautifully mature wines from Balcom Family. The wines were made by renowned winemaker, Craig Becker, formerly of Robert Mondavi, Opus One, Spring Mountains Vineyard, and currently Director of Winemaking at Sommerston Estate. The fruit for these wines was sourced from Constant Vineyard high on Diamond Mountain, and Somerston Estate's hillside blocks in Napa's Vaca Mountains. The wine's name, "Mascaret," pays tribute to the Bordeaux region that inspired the wine. The Mascaret is a wave, or tidal bore, that runs up th...

We acquired a small parcel of this special selection via famed Italian Importer Ferdinando Fiori or Nadi. Signor Fiori became famous in whisky circles when he founded Intertrade Imports in the 1980s. High Spirits was established after the dissolution of that special label. Signor Fiori has established exceptional relationships with Scottish bottlers over the years and gets particularly good access. He's officially in retirement, but we're doing everything we can to convince him to select more casks for his special line. The wonderful line of rums bottled...

94 points James Suckling: "This Petrus is solid for the vintage with bright and pretty fruit. It’s full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a berry, Indian spice, and cinnamon character. Long and intense. Better than most may believe. Still needs some time but who can wait?" (10/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Petrus has a sumptuous bouquet with ample mulberry, truffle and pain d'epices aromas that are beautifully defined. It just seems to gain more and more volume in the glass. The ...

The Foursquare distillery has become one of the most sought-after and talked-about producers of rum anywhere in the world. Since the distillery opened in 1996, they've steadily made a name for themselves selling unadulterated rums at high proof under the "Exceptional Cask" range. We've been lucky enough to find a few single casks, which the distillery does not typically sell, through our various bottlers, but it's been some time since our partners in Scotland have offered us any. In fact, we were able to sell another at the start of the Foursquare craze,...

2007 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points James Suckling: "This is a laser-guided Champagne with fabulous energy and intensity with a tight palate, racy acidity and super fine phenolics. It goes on and on. Fine bubbles. Light pine and praline character. One for the cellar. " (12/2020) 97 points Vinous: "The 2007 Brut Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart is positively stellar. Elegant, polished and sophisticated, the 2007 dazzles with effusive aromatics and gorgeous balance. It's not an obvious wine, though, but rather a Champagne built for long, patient cellaring. The 2007 is 60% Pinot N...

Château Malescasse is a historic property ideally situated on gravel soils close to the Gironde River just north of Margaux. While it is true that 2007 will never have the power or authority of the finest vintages of the decade, the best wines display a remarkable ripeness and an admirable richness of texture. These are medium to full-bodied reds with soft tannins that will make great near to medium-term drinking. They are priced appropriately and many, like this 2007 Malescasse, offer exceptional value.

91 points Robert Parker: "A strong effort in this vintage, the evolved, perfumed, purple-tinged 2007 Cheval Blanc offers complex aromas of menthol, cedarwood, mulberries, and black currants. Medium-bodied with beautiful fruit, sweet tannin, and a heady finish, this lovely wine should drink well for 10-15 years." (04/10) 89-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good ruby-red. Pure nose offers blackberry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate. Supple and sweet, with nicely integrated acidity that's in harmony with the wine's silky texture...

Here is a fine find from the Right Bank. Founded in 1704, this 14-hectare estate run by the Bardet family is located on gravelly/clay soils that impart depth and complexity to the wine. 86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. We just discovered this property in 2019, and we have already sold quite a bit of their 1995 and 1996. Super old-school label for an “old school” property. This wine has lots of red berry aromas and flavors. It really opens up with some decanting.

92 points Vinous: "Molettieri's 2007 Taurasi Vigna 5 Querce is a big, big wine. Mocha, espresso, game, tar, licorice and dark raspberries meld together in an unusually ripe, flashy Taurasi. The 2007 boasts tons of richness and sheer power, but it needs at least another year to settle down and incorporate its oak. (AG)" (02/2013) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Wild underbrush and exotic spice notes mark the racy black cherry puree and cassis fruit in this rich red, delivering full tannins and a long aftertaste of wild flowers, mineral and spice. (NM)" (06/2...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Fonseca Vintage Port is opaque purple-colored with a high-class perfume of lavender, Asian spices, pencil lead, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits. On the palate it is voluminous with layered, succulent fruit, outstanding density, and excellent integration of tannin, acidity, and alcohol. The long finish and the wine’s impeccable balance suggest a lengthy evolution and a drinking window extending out to 2045." (02/2010) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Fonseca's rich, Cima Corgo style creates a sleek an...

2007 George Dickel 13 Year Old "2021 Release" Bottled In Bond Tennessee Whiskey (750ml)
Top Pick!
92 points Whisky Advocate: "Dickel’s now-annual return to bottled in bond, this one following the release of an 11 year old last year and a 13 year old in 2019, which became our Whisky of the Year. Roasted peanuts, marzipan, sweet corn, and bakery shop, with water unlocking cherries, jelly donut, raspberry jam, blueberry pie, fresh grains, and melted caramel. Mouth-coating overall, with a delicate finish that ends with a savory back note of wild herbs. (DF, Fall 2021)" K&L Notes: The famous Dickel 13 Year Old Bottled in Bond is back! This entirely grand cru Champagne comes from 7 crus and they are a roll call of the best in Champagne. It is a blend of 2/3 Chardonnay from Chouilly, Oger, Avize, Cramant and Mesnil and 1/3 Pinot Noir from Ay and Verzy. After 11 years of ageing on the lees on a cork, the results are spectacular; this brioche like, creamy Champagne has the textue that one usually only finds at twice this price. - Gary Westby, K&L

This is one of those wines that people will be buying by the case all summer long. Why? Well, with its new-world ripeness of red plum, black raspberry and licorice ropes this is totally crowd pleasing.
Price: $39.99

93 points John Gilman: "The 2007 Vaillons is also brilliant, and is a noticeable step up from the superb Séchets. The bouquet is beautiful, as it delivers a complex mélange of lemon, grapefruit, chalk dust, paraffin, oyster shells, a hint of vanillin oak and a garden full of spring flowers in the upper register. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and impressively complex out of the blocks, with a rock solid core of fruit, brilliant focus and cut and a stunningly long, transparent and racy finish. There is just stunning grip, length and purity on dis...

The incredible followup to the special 2006 Summer Release is here. This true farm distillery—all the barley for distillation is produced onsite—is a labor of love by Ian and Francis Cuthbert. Located in the Howe of Fife, they’ve created a distillery that operates in complete harmony with the farm. Spent lees and pot ale go back onto the fields as fertilizer for the next season’s cereals. for instance. The distillery itself is operated on a seasonal basis and is dictated by the farming calendar. In the summer lull in June and July the stills are in opera...

2007 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Top Pick!
98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pale to medium gold colored, the 2007 d'Yquem delivers powerful scents of tropical fruits—dried mangoes and pineapple paste—accented by acacia honey, toasted almonds and woodsmoke with hints of chalk dust, kettle corn and lime blossom. The palate reveals one of those vintages that shape-shifts into an apparently drier style than it is, largely thanks to its uber-racy backbone of freshness and layered mineral-inspired flavors, finishing with a regal, satin-textured savoriness. Difficult to resist now, this will be...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Herbs, currant and berries come through beautifully on the nose and palate, with a full body, yet fine and pretty tannins hold it all in. Very attractive and refined." (10/2010)
Price: $64.99

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "From 2009, Labégorce-Zédé will no longer exist, being amalgamated with Château Labégorce-Margaux. So this 2007 is one of the last vintages. The wine has solid but lively black fruits, the tannins dark, firm and full of blackberry juice flavors with a touch of cranberry dryness. It is definitely for aging. (RV)" (06/2010) Wine Spectator: "Delicate aromas of currant and flowers follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and an aftertaste of licorice and delicate berry. Fresh and elegant. (JS)" (03/2010) K&L Notes: Th...

2007 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Back In Stock!
95-97 points John Gilman: "The 2010 Comte de Vogüé Musigny is a beautiful wine in the making, as it soars from the glass in an aristocratic mélange of red and black cherries, blood orange, raw cocoa, stunningly complex minerality, a bit of raspberry, mustard seed, coffee, dried violets and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and youthfully tight, with a sappy core of fruit, outstanding transparency, tangy acids, ripe, well-integrated tannins and outstanding length and grip on the very minerally finish. A beautiful and utterly classi...

100 points James Suckling: "The is a phenomenal young port that showcases flowers, stones, black olives and dried mushrooms on the nose. The polished and finesse are second to none. Full yet so refined and dense with a compact and gorgeous mouthfeel. Goes on for minutes. Hard not to drink now, but this will seemingly live forever." (01/2017) 97 points John Gilman: "The 2007 Dow’s was one of the most closed examples of the vintage that I tasted while in Portugal at the end of April, but it was very clearly a great, great bottle in the making. The deep a...

2007 Domaine du Pegau "Cuvée da Capo" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A deeper, richer version of the Cuvee Reservee, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo is one of the more youthful, concentrated wines of the vintage. Coming primarily from the la Crau lieu-dit and over 90% Grenache, aged in an old foudre, its deep ruby color is followed by a bonafide smorgasbord of Provencal aromas and flavors of garrigue, cured meats, incense, beef blood, black currants and pepper. While a full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, rich and unctuous wine, it carries its wealth of fruit and mid-...

96 points James Suckling: "This aged riesling is now showing quite extraordinary dried-apple, pear and peach character with stone, mineral and subtle flint undertones. It’s full-bodied and layered with lots of dried fruit and a persistent, flavorful finish. Yet, it’s always subtle and focused. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." (09/2020) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Fully mature, this Riesling evokes almond paste, apple, cantaloupe and graphite flavors, showing balance, with fine length and freshness. Drink now." 98 points Wine & Spirits: "David Guimaraens selects this small lot from the oldest vines at Vargellas, Taylor's home base in the Douro Superior. The vines are planted on steep terraces in a north-facing amphitheater, many of them dating to a monovarietal planting in the 1920s. Vargellas is widely regarded as one of the great vineyards of the Douro, and this wine is yet another affirmation of its class. Start with a heavy iron pole to pound the schist and crush it into plantable soil. Breathe the scent of esteva, a green, sappy shrub that grows at the hig...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "An impressive, balanced wine from master winemaker Dirk van Niepoort. Chocolate and licorice flavors dominate the fruit, giving a wine that has weight, complexity and at the same time elegance. The tannins offer a dense, dry structure. It is tight, solid and certainly for aging. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (12/2009) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Very enticing aromas of violet, blueberry and sandalwood follow through to a full body, with medium sweetness, ultrarefined tannins and a very long finish. This just coats the mouth with fa...

2007 Domaine Georges Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Cras"
Back In Stock!
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is similar to that of the Combottes except that it is even more elegant and high-toned plus it evidences more of an emphasis on minerality that continues onto detailed, racy and focused medium-bodied flavors brimming with dry extract and energy on the driving finish that delivers sneaky length. There is a different personality here as well as a touch of youthful austerity that will require a few years to emerge from its shell. A terrific wine of balance and finesse but there is no lack of grip. Highly r...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard Schrader, which comes from clone 4 and clone 6, from two separate blocks, is another prodigious Cabernet. It boasts stunning concentration, a dense purple color, plenty of crushed rock, floral, black currant, pain grille, and spice box notes, and outstanding ripeness as well as richness. Forget it for 3-4 years, and enjoy it over the following 25+...the 2007s, universally acknowledged as a great vintage for Napa, are spectacular. All of these cuvees are ag...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer George III Vineyard sings of crème de cassis, baked plums and cherry preserves with touches of dried sage, tilled soil, cigar box and camphor. Built like a brick house in the full-bodied mouth with firm, grainy tannins and wonderfully refreshing acid cutting through the rich, concentrated black fruit preserves, it finishes with a compelling herbal lift. 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate displays a very slowly evolving nose of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered cherries, vanilla pod and smoked meats with touches of dried Provence herbs, cedar chest and cloves. Medium-bodied, plush, rich and generously fruited in the mouth, it has a wonderfully spicy character and long baking spice and black fruit-laced finish. 96 points Wine Spectator: "Minerally on the nose, with accents of sea breeze and brine, transitions on the palate to a deep and finely-knit range of ripe nectarine and dried white cherry fruit, chopped almond and espresso crema, and hints of tangerine peel, saffron and ground cardamom. Fine and lacy in texture, this is sleek and mouthwatering through to the finish, where the salinity returns, echoing a lasting note. Disgorged July 2020. (AN)" (04/2021)

93 points Wine & Spirits: "2007 Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir Savory woodland mushroom scents lend a sense of mystery to this wine, its flavors ranging from meat to minerals. There's nothing directly fruity about it. Dark in tone but not dense, the aroma has the exoticism of Chinese medicinal herbs. An old-school California Pinot with an Old World sensibility, this should age in fascinating directions." (04/2011) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Shows the dry tannins and astringency of youthful Hanzell, but these Pinot Noirs are famously capable of extended agin...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also 100% barrel-fermented, the 2007 Chardonnay Grangerville Vineyard reveals a light medium gold color along with aromas of nectarines, white peaches, crushed rocks, creme brulee, and honeyed lemon. Fresh, full-bodied, rich, and structured, with little oak in evidence, I would not be surprised to see this Chardonnay age for a decade or more. " (08/2010)

95 points Robert Parker: "The powerful, full-throttle 2007 Chardonnay Untitled #3 exhibits a light gold color as well as a big, sweet kiss of baked apples, honeyed pears, nectarines, and orange marmalade. Displaying fabulous fruit on the attack, mid-palate, and finish, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a subtle hint of toasty oak, it should be consumed over the next 3-4 years." 94 points Wine Spectator: "The powerful, full-throttle 2007 Chardonnay Untitled #3 exhibits a light gold color as well as a big, sweet kiss of baked apples, honeyed pears, nectarines,...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Dauvissat 2007 Chablis La Forest is gloriously buoyant, open-knit, and generously perfumed, while at the same time possessed of vivid crushed stone and chalk dust all the way through. Suggestions of white truffle and iris waft ethereally throughout, while subtle suggestions of toasted nuts, iodine, clam liquor, and fruit pit add underlying, persistent piquancy. And for all of this wine’s energized and rarified nature, as well as its overt mineral character, it also evinces a subtle and winsome hint of creamin...

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, full yellow. Aroma of mirabelle and lemon peel complicated, by marzipan, pineapple and coconut. Supple, ripe and creamy; showing less clarity than the Thieriot or Charles Heintz bottlings but considerably more thickness of texture and sweetness. (ST) 91+ " (05/2009)
Price: $79.99

The Andreen Gale vineyard was formerly known as the Camp Meeting Ridge vineyard and this location was the source of the fruit for this wine. Oakier than previous vintages, this has been tamed by time, allowing the vanilla toast and citrus flavors to come up more. An increased 55% of new French Oak was used in this vintage and the surplus of wood is easy to taste, but should soften even more with time.
