2007 Glen Elgin 14 Year Old "Signatory K&L Exclusive" Hogshead Cask Strength Collection Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Top Pick!
While many distillery owners prefer shell-and-tube condensers because they are cheaper and easier to maintain, it is no secret that, for many great malts, a worm tub is critical to the final character. Glen Elgin is a classic worm tub distillery. Juicy fruit and palate weight are the major hallmarks of Glen Elgin, situated in Speyside's small hamlet of Fogwatt. The distillery has very long fermentation times (ranging from 80 to 120 hours) and an unusually clear wort. Combine that with very slow distillations and you have a vibrant fruity malt. Condense t...

We acquired a small parcel of this special selection via famed Italian Importer Ferdinando Fiori or Nadi. Signor Fiori became famous in whisky circles when he founded Intertrade Imports in the 1980s. High Spirits was established after the dissolution of that special label. Signor Fiori has established exceptional relationships with Scottish bottlers over the years and gets particularly good access. He's officially in retirement, but we're doing everything we can to convince him to select more casks for his special line. The wonderful line of rums bottled...

2007 Fonseca Vintage Port
Back In Stock!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Fonseca Vintage Port is opaque purple-colored with a high-class perfume of lavender, Asian spices, pencil lead, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits. On the palate it is voluminous with layered, succulent fruit, outstanding density, and excellent integration of tannin, acidity, and alcohol. The long finish and the wine’s impeccable balance suggest a lengthy evolution and a drinking window extending out to 2045." (02/2010) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Fonseca's rich, Cima Corgo style creates a sleek an...

96 points James Suckling: "This aged riesling is now showing quite extraordinary dried-apple, pear and peach character with stone, mineral and subtle flint undertones. It’s full-bodied and layered with lots of dried fruit and a persistent, flavorful finish. Yet, it’s always subtle and focused. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." (09/2020) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Fully mature, this Riesling evokes almond paste, apple, cantaloupe and graphite flavors, showing balance, with fine length and freshness. Drink now." (02/2021) 91 points Robe...

From the winemaker: "2007 gave us a beautifully concentrated wine with soft velvety tannins. Bright purple black color. The nose shows off layered complexity, loaded with aromas of sweet blueberries, currants and black cherries with a hint of caramel and vanilla. In the mouth, the wine reveals flavors layered with sweet blueberries, cassis, plums and black cherries. The wine is chewy and has great balance with a long luscious finish. The wine can be approached early with decanting, yet will age effortlessly for 15+ years. This is undoubtedly the most pro...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Faro Palari shows a little more heat intensity compared to recent vintages and appears to be entering its drinking window. The 2007 vintage saw a rain-soaked spring and vigorous growth throughout the growing season. The bouquet offers resinous aromas of tar and pine nut with pretty background notes of black licorice and dusty mineral. The quality of the tannin is silky and long. This is one of my favorite editions of the wine thanks to its profound complexity and slightly denser consistency. Drink 2016-2...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Paul Autard "Cuvée Juline" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95WS, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Shows lots of exotic braised fig, black tea, roasted mesquite, incense and bittersweet cocoa notes, with a core of black cherry and raspberry fruit in reserve. The long, flashy finish lets pastis and Black Forest cake notes emerge. This has some toast to absorb, but it's all there. (JM)" (08/2009)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Paul Autard "La Côte Ronde" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95JD, 95RP, 95WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée La Côte Ronde (a blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah from 60-year-old vines, with the Syrah enjoying malolactic fermentation in barrel and aging in new oak) possesses smoky, roasted herb, seaweed wrapper, licorice, cassis, and black cherry characteristics. The oak component is beautifully integrated, and the wine has superb concentration, a full-bodied style, and a true Châteauneuf du Pape personality in spite of the new oak. (RP)" (10/2009)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, 97RP, 93VN, 92CG, 91W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet colored with a hint of purple, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve sings of fragrant cassis, blackberry pie and plum preserves notes with sparks of kirsch, violets, chocolate box and allspice plus earthy wafts of truffles and underbrush. Full-bodied, rich and seductive in the mouth, the fruity flavors are just starting to evolve into tertiary earth and spice layers with a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and lively freshness, finishing with epic length. (LPB)" (08/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Jones Family "The Sisters" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Lisa Perrotti-Brown writes: "The Jones Family vineyard is located off Bale Lane in Calistoga and was planted to all five Bordeaux varieties by David Abreu in the early 1990s. Heidi Barrett made the wines until 2008, and Thomas Rivers Brown now makes the wines. The Sisters is the more approachable, fruit-focused, deselection wine."
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett #16 Mosel (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett A.P. #16 smells strikingly of mint – almost eucalyptus – along with wet stones, fresh apple, and brown spices. I would have picked this as a Himmelreich, frankly, and Willi Schaefer seeks to assure me that given where this was picked, the resemblance makes perfect sense. While not so strikingly weightless as the best Kabinetts of the vintage, this is infectiously juicy, and especially cool and refreshing in its long, lip-smacking finish of apple, honeydew melon, mint, and wet stone. (DS)" (06/2009)
