98 points Decanter: "The Dom Perignon Rosé 2006 is simply amazing. Notes of raspberry, spices and mint jump from the glass in a seductive combination. The texture in the mouth is of precise, crystalline, laser-like tannins in an opulent style. A very great success in a vintage that was not always easy in Champagne. (YC)" (11/2019) 97 points Vinous: "The 2006 Dom Pérignon Rosé is every bit as captivating as it was last year, maybe even more so. At times powerful, but in other moments finessed, the 2006 constantly changes in the glass, revealing a differ...

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The flagship release is the 2006 Champagne Rare, a 70/30 split of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that’s a cellar selection from 8 different Grand Cru vineyards. Tight, backward, and straight-up structured, it offers brilliant notes of stone fruits, toasted brioche, white flowers, and obvious minerality. Needing plenty of air to show at its best, this beauty has a wonderful mid-palate, a racy mousse, and the balance and class to cruise for over two decades in cool cellars. 97+" (11/2019) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas and flavors o...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Pape Clément has an intense bouquet that is very well defined, adorned with cassis, blueberry and subtle iodine scents that all gain momentum in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well-judged acidity, the new oak neatly enmeshed and blessed with a precise, harmonious finish that lingers. This is a wonderful Pape Clément... 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An expressive, spicy and relatively high-toned nose of both red and black pinot fruit that is terrifically complex introduces fresh, intense and notably mineral-driven medium full flavors blessed with plenty of dry extract that lends a real sense of body and fullness to the firm and vibrant finish underpinned by a lovely feeling of tension and punch. Interestingly, the tannins are slightly less refined than those of the Echézeaux but it matches it in virtually ever other category. This may very well be the best vinta...

92 points Connoisseurs Guide: "79% Cabernet Sauvignon; 10% Malbec; 8% Merlot; 2% Cabernet Franc; 1% Petit Verdot. This very deeply draughted offering is at once impressively extracted with loads of incisive Cabernet fruit and rich oak to spare and surprisingly polished for the young wine that it is. It is full and weighty with a fine supple feel despite the presence of ample varietal tannins, and it lingers wonderfully at the finish with the taste of cassis outlasting all else. It shows nary a hint of the narrowing acidity that plagues so many wines of t...

2006 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Back In Stock!
100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The good news is that there are 1,500 cases of this cuvée. It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar. With extraordinary intensity, beautiful purity, a texture and flavors that build incrementally on the palate, and a significantly long finish, this is a perfect wine. 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Frontier Justice Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard (95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah) is a beauty. Blueberry, plum, balsamic, and charcoal notes are followed by an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied wine with terrific purity, length, and richness. This 2006 should drink beautifully for 12-15+ years. (RP)" (12/2009)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tend to drink Alto Moncayo during its first 5-6 years of life. Although I was sure they had aging potential, I did not realize just how much longevity these wines possess. They are generally full-bodied, powerful (with at least 15.5% natural alcohol), concentrated, rich wines made from very old vines and tiny yields. If you are not into flavor concentration or care about artisanal wines from great terroirs that have been ignored for centuries, this may not be the wine for you. Not one of these ten vintages was ...

2006 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is initially quite fragrant and expressive but the longer that the wine sat in the glass the more it progressively shut down and a great deal of swirling was necessary to liberate the mostly red berry fruit aromas that are liberally laced with a broad range of spice and floral elements, in particular rose petal. The broad-shouldered flavors possess a beguiling texture even though the supporting structure makes itself felt very quickly on the firm but not hard finish that goes on and on. While this is still clear...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Bottled unfiltered and unfined, this Merlot-Cab Franc blend has a wonderful floral fragrance, and then hits a core of rock and very tight, compact red fruits. It's dark and slow to open, but layered with nuances of graphite, dried herb, earth, black olive and spice. Black fruits include blackberry and black cherry, filling out a semi-sweet mid-palate. The tannins are polished and firm, with hints of coffee and bitter chocolate. *Editors' Choice* (PG)" (11/2008) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Bright and juicy, with focused blackb...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing more minerality than the le Meal, yet more plushness and sexiness than the l’Ermite, the 2006 Ermitage le Pavillon is a tour de force that gives up sensational notes of crushed rocks, blackberries, currants, smoked meats and licorice. It shows a touch of iron and bloodiness with time in the glass, is full-bodied, seamless and incredibly layered on the palate. There’s no shortage of tannin either and this beauty needs 4-5 years of cellaring to hit full maturity, and will keep for another 2-3 decades. (JD)"...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Broken Stones (63% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and 13% Mourvèdre) blew me away. An inky/purple color and a dazzling, explosive bouquet of black raspberries, camphor, cassis, forest floor, and spring flowers are followed by a rich, elegant wine offering laser-like precision as well as a striking minerality. It is a powerful yet graceful effort that should drink well for 10-12+ years. 2006 Le Clos du Caillou "Les Quartz" Côtes du Rhône
Back In Stock!
90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Cotes du Rhone Les Quartz in 2006 is an opulent, open-knit, gorgeous wine with loads of black cherry and strawberry fruit intermixed with some minerality and spring flowers. It is capable of lasting 4-6 years. Kudos to Sylvie Vacheron, who is carrying on the legacy of her husband, Jean-Denis Vacheron, after his untimely death in 2001. Working with noted oenologist, Bruno Gaspard, this estate has rebounded from that tragedy with some brilliant efforts in both their Cotes du Rhone and Chateauneuf du Pape sele...

Full and round with a lovely texture and a light salty, meaty and tobacco character. Forest floor. Sweet and sour." (10/2012) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 6,500 cases of the superb 2006 Dominus (91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot). 100 points James Suckling: "Incredibly floral and beautiful with dark berry, spice, cedar and mint. Chinese plums. Asian spices. Bark. Tea. Full body, dense and so soft and complex. The finish goes on for minutes. Endless and fine. January 2017 release. This reminds me of the gorgeous 1991 or 1964. Drink forever. A wine that you want to spend time with." (01/2018) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted the 2006 Único again, and it's clearly the best Único produced in the last few years, to which I don't find much logic, as on paper 2004 and...

97 points Decanter: "From the first whiff, the Krug 2006 has an alluring array of delectable scents, ranging from subtle notes of smoked almonds and flowers to gentle spices including curry and caraway. On the palate, the mouthfeel is generous and plush but has an underlying tannic tension to it, and finishes with a refreshing, nuanced bitter note. Its combination of freshness and power provide the right material to stay the distance of a decade or two. 2006 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Back In Stock!
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 38% Syrah, 36% Grenache, and 26% Mourvedre, the 2006 Heart Stone Vineyard offers up scents of flowers, lavender, black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, underbrush, and forest floor. Justin Smith uses a lot of whole clusters in his fermentation, which seems to give his wines structure as well as nuance. This is the most French-like of Saxum’s 2006s, and it comes across like a restrained, northern Rhone-like effort that is only hinting at its ultimate potential. (RP)" (08/2009) 93 points Wine Spect...

99 points Decanter: "The first aromatic impression is surprisingly floral in the context of such a hot vintage, and then evolves to reveal elements of menthol, liquorice and yellow fruit. With aeration, the bouquet blossoms to reveal increasing complexity, including spicy notes. On the palate, this is a fleshy and densely textured Clos du Mesnil with a salty tang on the finish, one that stands out for its singularity, albeit in the context of a classic crystalline, tense purity. Bravo – a work of art! 100% Chardonnay, disgorged at the end of 2019. Dosage...

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is discreetly wooded with an elegant, cool, reserved and stony red Pinot fruit nose that offers a beautiful variety of layers where the following energetic medium-bodied flavors also brim with an intense minerality and excellent detail on the driving and tension-filled finish. This is wonderfully alive and altogether classic in style and like the Clos de Vougeot, this will require up to two decades to reach its full potential. A stunner fashioned in an old school style. *Don't Miss!* " (01/2008) 92 poin...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Les Pavots (a 2, 730-case blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot) exhibits big notes of chocolate fudge intermixed with dark berry fruit, forest floor, underbrush, and some smoky oak. The wine is full-bodied, with remarkable intensity, low acidity, and a fleshy, opulent mouthfeel. (RP)" (12/2008)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Arlaud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-92BH), 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Surprisingly, this is almost as elegant with its strikingly pretty red pinot fruit aromas that possess fine density and this sense of concentration can also be found on the complex, supple and balanced flavors supported by a finely textured finish where the tannins arrive in a rush at the finish. This seems almost soft at first but the firm finish dispels the notion that this will be an early drinker." (01/2008)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96JS, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage, this thrilling, opaque purple-colored wine offers up sweet espresso, jus de viande, blackberry, blueberry, flower and chocolate aromas. A fabulous texture, tremendous purity, sensational brightness and authoritative flavor intensity allied to striking complexity and elegance are the signature of this creative blend from the David Abreu vineyards of Thorevilos and Madrona Ranch. Six hundred cases were produced. Give this wine another 3-4 years of cellaring and enjoy it over the following 15+. (RP)" (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $750.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (95DC, 94RP, 94ST, 93JS, 92WE). Decanter: "Tight and unyielding at the moment, but with great pedigree, great texture and definition, this has lots of life to come. Poised and impactful, with juicy and mouthwatering fruit. Punches far above the weight of the vintage, one of those get-a-straw-in-the-glass wines: among the best of the tasting. Here tension rises, and your mouth waters on the finish. This is delicate but punchy, with perfect balance. (JA)" (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Gérard Raphet Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Unique (91RP, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Raphet 2006 Clos de la Roche – as occasionally happens with their rendition of this site – displays a striking personality. With completely unexpectedly, savage intensity, it smells of pungent wood smoke with herbal distillate, kirsch, framboise, as well as their fresh fruit and herb counterparts. Crushed stone, tart fruit skin, cyanic fruit pits, and medicinal iodine and bitter herbs accent fresh, ripe berries on the palate, and this finishes with impressive raw intensity of tart fruit, herbs and minerals, though interestingly – for now – without any notable carnal dimension. (DS)" (12/2009)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 94JD, 94RP). Vinous: "A dark, brooding beauty, the 2006 Monte Bello is still very, very young. The aromatics alone are enticing, but the tannins still need time to soften. The 2006 is a masculine, vertical Monte Bello that demands cellaring. Even so, it is pretty impressive today. Scents of lavender, sage, mint and savory herbs add closing flourishes. The perfumed sweetness of the fruit (one of the hallmarks of the very late harvest) remains one of the signatures of the 2006. (AG) 95+" (07/2016)
Starting Bid: $500.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2006 Talley Rincon Vineyard Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (1.5L).
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A bigger, richer wine than the Chaupin (which is normal), the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes comes from the La Janasse and La Crau lieux-dits, and is 80% Grenache and the balance Syrah and Mourvèdre; the Grenache is raised in foudres and demi-muids, and the Syrah and Mourvèdre are raised in small barrels. Full-bodied, rich, decadent and unctuous on the palate, this beauty gives up fabulous notes of dark fruits, dusty soil, licorice, roasted herbs and toasted spice. It needs a short decant if drinking anytime soon, and will continue drinking nicely through 2026. (JD)" (03/2016)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95DC, 95JS, 93RP, 93ST). James Suckling: "Sage and mint in the nose, it is Opus style. Full bodied and layered, with polished tannins and wonderful length. This is tight, but fascinating still. This wine has a good future, very juicy, and will only keep getting better." (04/2011)
Starting Bid: $830.00

Bid on this 1-half-bottle lot of 2006 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml) (97WE, 96RP, 96VN, 95DC, 95JS, 95WS). Wine Enthusiast: At the time it was shown as a barrel sample in early 2007, this was the best wine of 2006. That accolade remains. It has all the power of the Cabernet Sauvignon in Pauillac, which was the greatest success of the vintage. That power comes from the dense tannins as well as the black plum and spice flavors and minerality. The texture becomes velvet, giving a final richness, but never losing its long aging potential. *Cellar Selection, Best of 2009* (RV) (03/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Petite Syrah ((93-96RP), 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Never disappointing, and usually one of the finest Petite Syrahs made in California, the 2006 Petite Sirah Hayne Vineyard once again hits on all cylinders. A blockbuster Petite Sirah, inky purple in color with a glorious nose of charcoal, black raspberry, blueberry, creme de cassis, licorice, and crushed rocks, it is very full-bodied, powerful, with sweet tannin, decent acidity, and a 45+-second finish. This is an infantile wine that will benefit from 5-7 years of bottle age and last 25-30+ years. (RP)" (12/2007)
Starting Bid: $194.00

Bid on this 6-half-bottle lot of 2006 Chateau Montelena Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) (94JD, 94VN). Vinous: Dark red with ruby tones; not as deep as the '05 or '04. Very dark aromas of cassis, licorice and cocoa powder are complicated by exotic dusty spices and Provençal herbs. Suave, pure and mouthfilling, with its fine-grained dark berry and spice flavors broadening on the back half. Boasts a lovely balance of sweet and savory qualities, with bright acidity and refined tannins giving the wine plenty of backbone for further leisurely evolution in bottle. Finishes with excellent building length. (ST) (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93ST, 92CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 7, 000 cases of the prodigious 2006 Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec). Most of the fruit comes from the Stagecoach Vineyard and the Waters Ranch. Sweet, smoky, meaty aromas interwoven with melted asphalt, camphor, blackberry, cassis, and charcoal scents emerge from the complex aromatics. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, displaying sweet tannin, a concentrated mouthfeel, and a long, heady finish with substantial fruit, glycerin, and extract. (RP)" (12/2008)
Starting Bid: $400.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Crocker & Starr "Stone Place" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN). Vinous: "Good ruby-red. Lovely aromatic high notes to the aromas of dark fruits, licorice, violet, dark chocolate, leather and garrigue; pungent and Cab Franc-like. Conveys a sexy restrained sweetness nicely countered by savory soil tones. This very concentrated, fine-grained wine, the first 100% Cabernet Sauvignon vintage for this bottling, boasts juicy, nicely integrated acidity and considerable class. Finishes rocky and long, with firm, suave tannins and subtle notes of salty minerality and chocolate latte. This wine has never gone through a dip, noted Starr, and it still has a bright future. (ST)" (04/2018)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Il Paradiso di Frassina Brunello di Montalcino (96JS). James Suckling: "I love the decadence and richness here with dark fruits, meat and very ripe plums. Full bodied, with a dense and beautiful palate.Ripe black cherries, with flowers. Such pure fruit. Powerful tannins, yet polished and elegant. Beautiful length. Give it three to fouryears of bottle age. This is phenomenal and made from organic grapes." (01/2011)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Pride Mountain Napa-Sonoma Counties Merlot (93WE, 92CG). Wine Enthusiast: "Made in the Pride style, this is a big, powerful wine that should age well. It’s enormously ripe, with flamboyant cassis, cherry pie filling, milk chocolate, licorice and smoky oak flavors that are wrapped into thoroughly modern, softly refined tannins." (07/2009)
Starting Bid: $155.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Angélus, St-Emilion (97DC, 95WE, 94RP, 93ST, 93WS, 92W&S). Decanter: "Double decanted but still extremely tannic, this hsa layers of muscle even at 13 years old. It's very different in style from the others in the lineup: here, I get more menthol notes alongside the dense layers of fruit, rich tobacco, earth and olive tapenade. It's beautiful in depth and persistency, with the first hints of secondary characters in its truffle hit on the finish. (JA)" (11/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Almaviva "Almaviva" Bordeaux Blend Maipo Valley (93ST, 93WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Starting to open, with cedar, roasted vanilla and mesquite aromas giving way to a rich, loam- and black currant-filled palate. The long, fleshy finish lets the loamy edge play out nicely. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. (JM, Web-2011)"
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Lewis Cellars "Cuvée L" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93WS). Wine Spectator: "Smooth, rich and creamy, with mocha-laced plum and black cherry fruit that’s elegant, stylish, full-bodied and complex, ending with a long, firm, concentrated finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (JL)" (03/2010)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Antinori "Solaia" Toscana (97WS, 95JS, 95WE, 94VN). Wine Spectator: "Displays loads of mint, eucalyptus, currant and meat on the nose. Full-bodied, with masses of fruit, yet reserved and structured. Mouthpuckering now from all the tannins, but this will give incredible pleasure in years to come. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. (JS)" (10/2009)
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Bodegas Roda "Cirsion" Rioja (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The flagship 2006 Cirsion offers up an alluring perfume of exotic spices, incense, lavender, earthy minerals, and blackberry. Already complex, this lengthy effort will continue to evolve for another 4-5 years and deliver prime drinking through 2026. Bodegas Roda is one of the quality leaders in Rioja. (JM)" (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2006 Talley Rosemary's Vineyard Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L).
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Bellevue-Mondotte, St-Emilion (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This tiny, 5-acre vineyard with nearly 50-year old vines produces only 4, 000 bottles from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The broodingly tannic, backward 2006 is remarkably concentrated, pure, and deep. It is an amazing tour de force in winemaking, but like nearly all the Perse 2006s, it is a massively built vin de garde with no compromises meant for serious connoisseurs and long-term cellaring. (RP) 95+" (02/2009)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this magnum of 2006 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 98JS, 97ST, 96RP, 94WE) in original wood. James Suckling: "Intense aromas of black pepper, blueberry, blackberry, tar, and black licorice. Full bodied, with amazing length and a toned muscular character. This lasts for minutes. Like a world class ballerina. It is held back and beautiful." (02/2011)
Starting Bid: $1,000.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Broken Stones (63% Syrah, 24% Grenache, and 13% Mourvèdre) blew me away. One of California’s super-star producers, Saxum owns one of the state’s most remarkable vineyard sites, the James Berry Vineyard, which has been broken into a number of different blocks, all planted on rocky limestone hillsides. This estate’s approach to winemaking is decidedly artisanal, with extraordinarily small yields as well as a minimalistic winemaking philosophy. (RP)" (08/2009)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 95RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "Pulled from my cellar (purchased on release), the 2006 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is drinking brilliantly, and this vintage always seems to deliver. Rocking notes of kirsch, black licorice, cured meats, black olives, and garrigue all give way to a ripe, perfectly balanced, seamless effort that’s right smack dab in the middle of its prime drinking plateau. It opens up nicely with time in the glass, and while fully mature, it’s going to continue drinking great for another decade, at which point it should have a gradual decline." (03/2019)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 93WE, 91JS, 91RP, 91ST) in original wood. Wine Enthusiast: "In recent years The Maiden has been getting nearly as good as Harlan Estate, so that at less than one-third the price, it’s a comparative bargain. The '06 Maiden is very ripe and rich, displaying New World, cult-style flamboyance. Softly tannic and bone dry, the flavors are of blackberries, black currants and spicy cedar wood. *Cellar Selection* " (04/2010)
