2006 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses"
Back In Stock!
96-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From cask, Dauvissat’s 2006 Chablis Preuses smells of toasted grain, roasted nuts, pungent buckwheat, ripe peach, high-toned floral perfume suggesting gentian, and ocean breeze. An amazing depth of indescribable minerality – approximating meat stock and crustacean reduction, with suggestions of soy – saturates the palate, leading to a generous yet still mysteriously savory, mouth-watering finish that contrasts dramatically with the chalky, faintly bitter character of the La Forest. This should become an extrao...

Fruit picked from favored blocks on Camp Meeting Ridge, now known as the Andreen Gale vineyard. The soils are uplifted marine sedimentary sandstone and volcanic rock at an elevation of 1,150 to 1,375 feet above sea level. Hand sorting and whole cluster pressing followed by fermentation with indigenous, native yeasts accompanied by regular battonage until the completion of the malolactic fermentation in the spring of 2007. Aged in 40% new French oak barrels for 11 months to produce a wine that has a gold tinge with oodles of citrus and honey fruit flavors...

99 points Decanter: "The first aromatic impression is surprisingly floral in the context of such a hot vintage, and then evolves to reveal elements of menthol, liquorice and yellow fruit. With aeration, the bouquet blossoms to reveal increasing complexity, including spicy notes. On the palate, this is a fleshy and densely textured Clos du Mesnil with a salty tang on the finish, one that stands out for its singularity, albeit in the context of a classic crystalline, tense purity. Bravo – a work of art! (YC)" (09/2020) 99 points James Suckling: "This is ...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs (97VN, 96JG, 96JS, 96RP, 95WE, 94BH, 94WS). Vinous: "The 2006 Comtes de Champagne is striking, especially in the way it brings together elements of ripeness and freshness in a hypothetical blend of the 2002 and 2004. Smooth and creamy on the palate, the 2006 is all about texture. There is a real feeling of density and weight in the 2006, qualities I expect to see grow with time in the bottle. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. The 2006 has been nothing short of magnificent both times I have tasted it. Comtes de Champagne remains the single best value (in relative terms) in tête de cuvée Champagne. I suggest buying a case and following it over the next 20-30 years, which is exactly what I intend to do. There is little doubt the 2006 Comtes de Champagne is a magical Champagne in the making. (AG) 97+" (07/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Louis Latour Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru ((90-91RP), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Latour’s 2006 Criot-Batard-Montrachet (from contract grapes) displays a Chenin-like emphasis on quince, along with gardenia and brown spices. A flattering creaminess and subtle oiliness of texture characterize this wine’s sultry, plush palate, and its sense of enveloping richness extends to a long, soothing finish. (DS)" (12/2008)
