Joël Taluau is a fabulous grower in St-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire. All his hand-harvested cuvées are based on vine age and soil composition, and the wines are fermented and aged in stainless steel with a light fining and no filtration before bottling. The Vieilles Vignes, from a single plot planted in 1934, has power, depth and grace—it's no wonder why it's their flagship wine.

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A wine that was controversial with a lot of tasters on release (not for me), the 2003 Châteauneuf-du-Pape has been drinking beautifully for a number of years now. It's showing classic sweet red fruits, spice box, and garrigue notes in an ethereal, pure, elegant style. It has the sweet fruit of the 2003 vintage but is classic Clos des Papes today." (08/2018) 97 points Wine Advocate: "While I've always loved the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape, it was extremely controversial in its youth due to its exuberance and ripeness. Yet today, wit...

2003 Potensac, Médoc (1.5L)
Back In Stock!
89 points Robert Parker: "The dark plum/purple-tinged 2003 Potensac is a sleeper of the vintage. Sweet, exotic scents of mincemeat, black currants, cherries, and crushed rocks are followed by an elegant, fleshy, forward, delicious claret to enjoy over the next 5-7 years, although this wine has a tendency to last longer. It is one of the finest Potensacs produced in several years." (04/06) According to the Wine Spectator: "Very pretty blackberry and currant aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a silky finish. Nicely done. ...

89-91 points Wine Spectator: "An exotic young wine with intense aromas of ripe fruit and citrus. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, ripe fruit finish. Pushes the envelope. One of the best I have tasted from here in years." (04/04) Barrel sample according to Clyde Beffa, K&L's Bordeaux Buyer: "Purple black color. Intense wine. Tasted much better at the property. Big wine with tons of everything and great mid-palate impression. This is a good value for the vintage. *+" (04/04) Please Note - The 2003 Bordeaux futures will be bottled from April 2005...

98 points James Suckling: "A massive Yquem, this has a dense palate that is almost chewy like a red. Full and very sweet, with notes of dried apricot, pineapple, and papaya on the palate. Long, with a vanilla-coconut tart finish. What a wine, voluptuous, sexy, and luscious. " (12/2011) 97 points Wine Spectator: "Squarely on the tropical side of the spectrum, with mango, papaya and pineapple fruit laced with a marmalade note. Long and very caressing through the finish, but never heady or overpowering, as orange pâte de fruit, ginger and singed almond ac...

96 points James Suckling: "Sweet tobacco and plum with hints of leather and cassis on the nose. Full bodied, with big velvety tannins and lots of fruit. Very rich and powerful, even chewy. Give this some time to mellow out. Pull the cork after 2016. " (03/2011) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Wow. This shows so much ripe fruit and berry character with just the right hint of lead pencil and spice. Full-bodied and very chewy. Big and powerful. Beautiful wine. Superb. *Top 100 Wines of 2006* (JS)" (03/2006) 94 points Wine Advocate: "A brilliant effort, this ...

2003 Longmorn 15 Year Old "Advance Sample by Old Malt Cask" K&L Exclusive Single Refill Hogshead Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (200ml) (Previously $35) (Previously $35)
Top Pick!
The Old Malt Cask Advance Sample label is a wonderful way to try an array of malts in an affordable and fun 200ml package. Longmorn, a cult favorite, is usually destined for blends. Owned by Chivas, you can guess where that famous blend gets a huge portion of its fruity top notes as well as body. Sadly the official bottlings of Longmorn tend to be prohibitively expensive. The 16-year is $150, and while that might not seem crazy in today's inflation-laden market, it's been $150 for a long time. Built by John Duff in the late 1800s, Longmorn shares many ch...

100 points James Suckling: "A very flamboyant and exciting Latour. Sliced black truffles, sweet leather, spices, and dark fruits on the nose. Full and powerful, with roasted fruit and leather undertones. Big and velvety, with polished, almost dusty tannins, and a super long finish. This leans more towards sexy than intellectual. Very concentrated." (02/2011) 100 points Wine Advocate: "Administrator Frederic Engerer says the 2003 is “the sexiest Latour ever made.” He also described it as “the 1990 without any brettanomyces.” I loved this wine from the b...
