91 points Wine Spectator: "Very ripe fruit on the nose, with hints of tobacco and cedar. Full-bodied, with big, chewy tannins, yet soft and luscious." (03/2003) 90 points Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-colored 2000's rich, complex perfume displays aromas of cedar, black cherry liqueur, melted licorice, scorched earth, tobacco, and new oak. The wine is rich, firm, tannic, concentrated, and medium to full-bodied with admirable sweetness of fruit. It is a beautiful effort... (RP)" (04/2003)

2000 Laphroaig 22 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Hogshead Cask Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $350) (Previously $350)
Top Pick!
It seems like forever since we've had 20+ year old blue chip distilleries on the docket for a reasonable price. It's getting harder and harder to secure these casks, and this one is a veritable coup. Distilled in June of 2000 and bottled in October of 2022, this 22 year old beauty is finally on our shores. Aged in a refill Hogshead, this is all about the spirit and time. Elegant, leathery, briny, sweet barley, and chock full of that lovely peat that only really comes with long years in cask. Bottled without chill filtration or coloring at its natural cas...

90 points Wine Advocate: "The dense purple-colored 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc) reveals a sweet perfume of black currants, an expansive, full-bodied palate, surprising elegance as well as accessibility, excellent purity, and a long, layered finish. It is a successful 2000 Cabernet to drink now and over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (12/2003) 90 points Int'l Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Claret-like aromas of black cherry, plum, currant, cocoa powder, loam, smoke and spice. Rich, dense and supple, with depth of ...

2000 Carruades de Lafite, Pauillac
Back In Stock!
93 points Wine Spectator: "Wonderfully ripe and decadent, with tobacco, meat and ripe berry aromas, with hints of currants. Full-bodied, and very velvety, with unctuous fruit flavors. Long and exotic aftertaste. Terrific wine. (JS)" (03/2003) 90 points Wine Advocate: "A brilliant second wine, the 2000 Carruades de Lafite (51.4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42.3% Merlot, 4.9% Cabernet Franc, and 1.4% Petit Verdot), aged in 10-15% new French oak, shows wonderfully sweet lead pencil shavings intermixed with an elegant black cherry and cassis nose. (RP)" (04/2003) ...

90 points Wine Advocate: "While the 2000 Shiraz/Cabernet The Signature (57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Shiraz) is outstanding, it is not the blockbuster this cuvee can sometimes be. Its ruby/purple color is accompanied by a spicy, earthy bouquet revealing scents of underbrush, black fruits, pepper, and background oak. This solidly made, structured 2000 will drink well for 7-10 years. (RP)" (10/2004)

2000 Lucien et André Brunel "Les Cailloux" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
92 points Int'l Wine Cellar: "Roasted plum, smoke, licorice and game on the nose; less expressive than the 2001 following the October bottling. Sweet and supple in the mouth, with floral red fruit flavors and a silkiness of texture that reminded me of Burgundy. Sound acids give this 2000 a juicy quality and contribute to the impression of grip. (ST)" (02/2003) 91 points Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape is pure sex in a bottle. A fragrant bouquet offers up aromas of spice box, cedar, pepper, jammy cherries, and a hint of plums and prunes. De...

100 points Decanter: "Violet and iris aromatics curling out of the glass, starting to reach their full expression at 20 years old. Beautifully finessed and elegant, with hints of black truffle, cloves and rich blackberry fruits, this is a vintage that showcases the best of Margaux. It took its time to reach this point but it has been worth the wait, and the wine just gets better and better over a few hours in the glass. Highlights the success of the partnership between owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos and director Paul Pontantallier, with this château delive...

Deep color. Brambly nose of blueberry and boysenberry fruit. Medium bodied and good concentration. Lots of chocolate on the palate. It is and will be a value of the vintage. 88-90 points from Parker… ‘The 2000 d’Angludet possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of blackberry and cassis fruit, smoke, and underbrush. Ripe, deep, and medium-bodied, with admirable fruit concentration, and well-balanced glycerin, tannin, and alcohol, this is a sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016 (April-2001)’ NOTE - This is a pre...

93 points Wine Advocate: "The firm, broodingly backward, structured, powerful 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Sixtine is atypical for this vintage. Its saturated purple color, firm tannin, full body, and long, concentrated finish suggest it will age well ... (RP)" (02/2003)

92 points Wine Advocate: "This full-bodied, modern-styled St.-Emilion offers a sensational perfume of smoky barbecue, jammy black currants, kirsch, licorice, and a touch of pain grille. Fleshy, savory, and full-bodied, it has shed much of its tannin, but still possesses abundant structure. It is an intense, modern-styled, mouthfilling, sumptuous, attention-getting wine to drink over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2010) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "The Becots, Gérard and Dominique, have produced a stylish, modern wine that powers black, sweet fruits through ...

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2000 Château de Pibarnon Bandol (93JG) and 1-bottle of 2000 Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" (91VN). Of the 2000 Château de Pibarnon Bandol, John Gilman writes: "At age fifteen, the 2000 Pibarnon is still a bit on the young side, as it shows a bit more backend tannin than the 2001 vintage does today. The bouquet is deeper-pitched in profile than its younger sibling, delivering a complex mix of cassis, tarry tones, tree bark, licorice, a touch of roasted venison and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and showing excellent mid-palate depth, with fine focus and grip, a meaty personality and still a bit of tannin looking to more fully fade away. I would give this top flight vintage of Pibarnon a few more years in the cellar to reach its absolute apogee. It should continue to drink very well for at least a couple more decades." (12/2015)
Current Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Pavie, St-Emilion (100JD, 100RP, 97WS, 96VN, 95JS, 95ST). Wine Advocate: "Just beginning to come around and strut its enormous potential, this wine at age 15 has been evolving like a glacier. The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. (RP)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Latour, Pauillac (100JS, 99DC, 99VN, 99WS, 98WE, 97RP, 97ST). James Suckling: "Latour has made truly great wines in the past two decades—and this is one of the best. It has fabulous aromas of black truffles, currants, raspberry and dried flowers. Mind-blowing on the palate, it’s an emotional and soulful red." (04/2014)
Current Bid: $1,390.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Rauzan-Gassies, Margaux (92WS, 91WE, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Best ever from this estate. Fabulous aromas of blackberries and ripe currants. Full-bodied, with super well-integrated tannins and a long, long finish. An excellent quality wine. Best after 2010. (JS)" (03/2003)
Current Bid: $240.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Pavie Macquin, St-Emilion (95JA, 95RP, 94WS, 93ST, 93VN). Wine Advocate: "A beautiful crushed rock/liqueur of minerality characterizes this inky/purple-hued St.-Emilion. Tannic, with lots of pure black raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with a notion of charcoal as well as the aforementioned rocky/powdered stone component, this long distance runner requires another 5-6 years of cellaring. It should age easily through 2030+. (RP) 95+" (06/2010)
Current Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Palmer, Margaux (97JS, 96WS, 95JA, 95RP, 94VN, 94WE). James Suckling: "A typical Palmer showing finesse alongside strength. I love the blackberry, plum, chocolate and cedar character. It’s very long and beautiful. The velvety, textured tannins are impressive." (04/2014)
Current Bid: $810.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (93WS, 92RP, 92ST). Wine Spectator: "Announces itself as a serious red from the first whiff of earthy, smoky notes weaving through the licorice-scented dark berry flavors. This firm, chewy wine expands on the long finish under a layer of fine-grained tannins, holding it all together seamlessly. It begs for time in the cellar to develop. (HS)" (09/2003)
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Margaux, Margaux (100DC, 100JD, 100JS, 99RP, 99VN, 98ST, 98W&S, 98WS). James Suckling: "The 2000 Margaux kicked off a string of great wines. The aromas are spellbinding, with notes of raspberry and strawberry. The palate is incredibly silky yet structured. Impeccable balance." (04/2014)
Current Bid: $1,630.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie (97WS, 94JD, 93RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: " *Collectibles* Smelling like a raspberry and Port reduction, this manages to let an enormous core of bittersweet chocolate, plum compote, chocolate ganache and exotic spice flavors glide across the palate. Its obvious muscularity strides in on the finish and the flavors echo almost endlessly. Needs time though. (JM)" (07/2004)
Current Bid: $280.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 97WE, 96DC, 95ST, 95W&S). Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet colored with a touch of brick, the 2000 Mouton Rothschild (composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot) boldly bursts from the glass with tantalizing Black Forest cake, dried mulberries, kirsch and blackcurrant pastilles notes plus wafts of iodine, incense, potpourri and cinnamon stick with a hint of cigar boxes. Medium to full-bodied, the palate packs in the muscular fruit, framed by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with phenomenal length. This is an incredibly complex and multifaceted wine, and it's drinking deliciously now. This said, I can’t help but feel that it is holding something back, that it still has another layer of opulence and seduction to reveal in its tight-knit fruit and solid structure. I personally can’t wait to see how this beauty will continue to unfold over the years to come. (LPB) 97+" (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $2,480.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Domaine de la Vieille Julienne Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" (97RP). Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (15% alcohol) emerges from a cold terroir in the northern sector of the appellation. The blend is generally 85% Grenache and equal parts Syrah and Mourvedre. Its opaque purple color is followed by a sumptuous perfume of creme de cassis, kirsch liqueur, licorice, plums, minerals, and smoke. Mammoth in the mouth, but surprisingly structured and tannic for a 2000, it is more evolved than its 2001 counterpart. This profound Chateauneuf should evolve slowly and age magnificently for two decades. It is a monumental effort, but patience will be a virtue. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025. Kudos to winemaker/proprietor Jean-Paul Dauman for this masterpiece! (RP)" (02/2003)
