2000 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend
Back In Stock!
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This estate has pulled out all the stops and produced a delicious wine of substance, finesse and great charm. It floods the palate with flavors of blackcurrants and cassis that carry ripely sweet fruit impressions deep into the taste buds, but it's dry. The oak is elaborate and in keeping with the fruit. For all the size, it's a feminine wine, and best enjoyed in its youth. *Cellar Selection*" (12/2003) Wine Spectator: "No mistaking the earthy, barnyard flavors that run through this wine, overshadowing the rich currant and b...

2000 Laphroaig 22 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Hogshead Cask Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) (Previously $350) (Previously $350)
Top Pick!
It seems like forever since we've had 20+ year old blue chip distilleries on the docket for a reasonable price. It's getting harder and harder to secure these casks, and this one is a veritable coup. Distilled in June of 2000 and bottled in October of 2022, this 22 year old beauty is finally on our shores. Aged in a refill Hogshead, this is all about the spirit and time. Elegant, leathery, briny, sweet barley, and chock full of that lovely peat that only really comes with long years in cask. Bottled without chill filtration or coloring at its natural cas...

90-92 points from Parker… ‘Christine (a dead-ringer for a young Michelle Phillips) and Philippe Gervoson have greatly increased the quality of the wine from this splendidly situated estate in Pessac-Leognan. Improvements began in 1996, and the estate has hit peaks in both 1998 and 2000, although 1999 and 1997 are also fine wines. The 200 Larrivet-Haut-Brion, a blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (Michel Rolland is the consulting oenologist), is an impressive sleeper of the vintage. A dense opaque purple color is followed by aromas of mi...

91 points Wine Spectator: "Very ripe fruit on the nose, with hints of tobacco and cedar. Full-bodied, with big, chewy tannins, yet soft and luscious." (03/2003) 90 points Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple-colored 2000's rich, complex perfume displays aromas of cedar, black cherry liqueur, melted licorice, scorched earth, tobacco, and new oak. The wine is rich, firm, tannic, concentrated, and medium to full-bodied with admirable sweetness of fruit. It is a beautiful effort... (RP)" (04/2003)

93 points Wine Advocate: "The firm, broodingly backward, structured, powerful 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Sixtine is atypical for this vintage. Its saturated purple color, firm tannin, full body, and long, concentrated finish suggest it will age well ... (RP)" (02/2003)

2000 Staglin "Estate" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
95 points Connoisseurs Guide: "From its wonderfully involving cassis and tea-leaf aromas to its deep, slightly loamy, lavishly fruited flavors, this wonderfully well-filled offering stands at the head of the class in 2000. Convincingly varietal in every way, it shows a plush and supple side to start, but its firm and structured follow-through reminds that this is young Cabernet and that its very best lies some years hence. An exceptional effort, it is capable of improving for upwards of a decade and may last longer yet. *Three Stars*" (04/2004) 91 poin...

90 points Wine Advocate: "While the 2000 Shiraz/Cabernet The Signature (57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Shiraz) is outstanding, it is not the blockbuster this cuvee can sometimes be. Its ruby/purple color is accompanied by a spicy, earthy bouquet revealing scents of underbrush, black fruits, pepper, and background oak. This solidly made, structured 2000 will drink well for 7-10 years. (RP)" (10/2004)

Deep color. Brambly nose of blueberry and boysenberry fruit. Medium bodied and good concentration. Lots of chocolate on the palate. It is and will be a value of the vintage. 88-90 points from Parker… ‘The 2000 d’Angludet possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of blackberry and cassis fruit, smoke, and underbrush. Ripe, deep, and medium-bodied, with admirable fruit concentration, and well-balanced glycerin, tannin, and alcohol, this is a sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016 (April-2001)’ NOTE - This is a pre...

2000 Margaux, Margaux
Back In Stock!
100 points Decanter: "Violet and iris aromatics curling out of the glass, starting to reach their full expression at 20 years old. Beautifully finessed and elegant, with hints of black truffle, cloves and rich blackberry fruits, this is a vintage that showcases the best of Margaux. It took its time to reach this point but it has been worth the wait, and the wine just gets better and better over a few hours in the glass. Highlights the success of the partnership between owner Corinne Mentzelopoulos and director Paul Pontantallier, with this château delive...

92 points Wine Advocate: "This full-bodied, modern-styled St.-Emilion offers a sensational perfume of smoky barbecue, jammy black currants, kirsch, licorice, and a touch of pain grille. Fleshy, savory, and full-bodied, it has shed much of its tannin, but still possesses abundant structure. It is an intense, modern-styled, mouthfilling, sumptuous, attention-getting wine to drink over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2010) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "The Becots, Gérard and Dominique, have produced a stylish, modern wine that powers black, sweet fruits through ...

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Germain-Robin Anno Domini Brandy (750ml). Previously released in other incarnations, the Anno Domini is a solera-style blend that dates back to 1983 and runs into the late 90s; so you're talking a marriage of spirits from 30 years of age to about 15+. The selling point of the Anno Domini, however, is that the blend contains a bit of brandy distilled from dry-farmed Palomino from the late 80s—perhaps the rarest and most treasured gem in the library. The Anno Domini is the type of thing you break out after a fancy dinner. It's a crowd-pleaser on the highest level. Much more intense richness, underlined by a backbone of oak spice and the acidity from the pinot noir. It's the whole show, from beginning to end. Big, undulating waves of pinot noir fruit that come over the palate like a pulsing beat of goodness. (David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer)

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Maison Louis Latour Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru ((90-92RP), 92WE). Wine Advocate: "The boisterous 2000 Batard-Montrachet is rich, vinous, tangy, and focused. It displays spiced minerals and toast in its aromatics as well as in its flavor profile. Loaded with fruit, this broad, full-flavored wine has outstanding depth, a vivacious character, as well as an admirably long and flavorful finish. (PR)" (12/2001)
Current Bid: $150.00

Bid on this 3 liter of 2000 Casa Lapostolle "Clos Apalta" Colchagua Valley (3L) (94WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "A stunner. This coats the palate with cassis, blackberry and boysenberry fruit, but stays focused and pure, with vanilla, spice and toast notes chiming in on the palate for added effect. The finish then resonates with purity. A thoroughly seductive wine that glides effortlessly, despite its obvious power and depth. Carmenère, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. *Wine #3 of 2003* (JM)" (04/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Angélus, St-Émilion (99RP, 98JA, 96WS, 95DC, 95JS, 93ST). Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet-brick in color, the 2000 Angélus comes galloping out of the glass with a powerful nose of fragrant earth, damp soil, iron ore and cigar box over a core of prunes, blackberry jam and dried mulberries. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled with great freshness and loads of earth and mineral-inspired layers, framed by grainy tannins, finishing with a lingering menthol lift. It is in a sweet spot for drinking right now, although it should go on for another 15-20 years. (LPB)" (10/2020)
Starting Bid: $720.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Margaux, Margaux (100DC, 100JD, 100JS, 99RP, 99VN, 98ST, 98W&S, 98WS). James Suckling: "The 2000 Margaux kicked off a string of great wines. The aromas are spellbinding, with notes of raspberry and strawberry. The palate is incredibly silky yet structured. Impeccable balance." (04/2014)
Current Bid: $1,630.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Palmer, Margaux (97JS, 96WS, 95JA, 95RP, 94VN, 94WE). James Suckling: "A typical Palmer showing finesse alongside strength. I love the blackberry, plum, chocolate and cedar character. It’s very long and beautiful. The velvety, textured tannins are impressive." (04/2014)
Current Bid: $810.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Rauzan-Gassies, Margaux (92WS, 91WE, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Best ever from this estate. Fabulous aromas of blackberries and ripe currants. Full-bodied, with super well-integrated tannins and a long, long finish. An excellent quality wine. Best after 2010. (JS)" (03/2003)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Pavie, St-Emilion (100JD, 100RP, 97WS, 96VN, 95JS, 95ST). Wine Advocate: "Just beginning to come around and strut its enormous potential, this wine at age 15 has been evolving like a glacier. The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel, this profound Pavie is in mid-adolescence. (RP)" (08/2015)
Current Bid: $1,280.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Branon, Pessac-Léognan (97RP, 92ST). Wine Advocate: "Everyone at the tasting where this wine was presented was rocked (or should I say shocked) by the greatness of this wine. It needs no defense. I rated it 96 seven years ago, and it comes from a beautiful vineyard in Pessac-Leognan near Haut-Bergey. Made by Helene Garcin and her winemaking team at the time, Michel Rolland and Jean-Luc Thunevin (now replaced by Dr. Alain Raynaud), 650 cases of this wine were produced. It has a deep, opaque bluish/purple color and a gorgeously sweet nose of incense, asphalt, blueberry liqueur, coffee, bacon fat, and a hint of meat juices. Full-bodied and dense, with silky tannins but enormous richness, length, and texture, this is a stunner to drink now or to age for another two decades. (RP)" (06/2010)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2000 Whitehall Lane Napa Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (91WS). Wine Spectator: "A complex, concentrated style. Firm, earthy tannins support a center of mocha, currant and plum Cabernet flavors, with hints of dill and cedar woven in. Shows a burst of fruit on the long, rich aftertaste. Drink now through 2011." (11/2003)
Current Bid: $247.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (100JS, 99WE, 98DC, 98JA, 98RP, 98WS, 97VN, 96ST). James Suckling: "The nose is fresh, bright, and dense. With aromas of violets, minerals, spices, cool stones, mint, dark fruits, and plum skins, this is beautiful. Very much still a baby right now, it needs much more time. This is a wine for the next generation. Finesse and elegance, truly a wine that makes you contemplate life. This is not about power, there is really nothing like it. " (02/2011)
Starting Bid: $850.00

Bid on this 3 liter of 2000 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (3L) in original wood (90RP, 90ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This has a very intense, masculine nose with blackberry, cassis and a touch of black truffle, a bouquet that want to be more Bordeaux than Napa! The palate is cohesive, dense, decadent and slightly raisiny, but it just lacks a little lift and the degree of finesse I expected on the finish. (NM)" (05/2009)
Current Bid: $560.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (98JD, 97RP, 95JS, 95VN, 94WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "The best since the 1990, the 2000 Pichon-Longueville Baron is just now starting to shed some baby fat and develop additional complexity and layers. This still ruby/plum-colored beauty boasts a phenomenal nose of blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, lead pencil shavings, and new saddle leather. It’s deep, full-bodied, and sexy, with incredible amounts of texture and opulence that keeps you coming back to the glass. It makes a mockery of so many Bordeaux today that are made in a so-called elegant style yet lack the fat, richness, and density to ever hit this high a level. With low acidity, beautiful purity of fruit, sweet tannins, and a great finish, it’s in the early to middle range of its drink window (I love it today) and has another two decades of sensational drinking ahead. Readers wanting to know what truly great Bordeaux tastes like should open a bottle of this!" (03/2019)
Current Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Latour, Pauillac (100JS, 99DC, 99VN, 99WS, 98WE, 97RP, 97ST). James Suckling: "Latour has made truly great wines in the past two decades—and this is one of the best. It has fabulous aromas of black truffles, currants, raspberry and dried flowers. Mind-blowing on the palate, it’s an emotional and soulful red." (04/2014)
Starting Bid: $1,340.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 du Tertre, Margaux (92ST, 91JS, 91RP). Int'l Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby to the rim; much darker than both the 2001 and the 2003. Notes of milk chocolate, underbrush and cedar complicate the ripe red cherry and dark plum aromas. Enters sweet, dense and tactile, displaying ripe dark fruit, tobacco, porcini and mineral flavors of noteworthy precision and cut thanks to harmonious acidity. Finishes sweet, spicy, smooth and very long; once again, du Tertre comes across as remarkably fresh and focused in a hot vintage. (ID)" (01/2012)
