The Hart family have been licensed victuallers and publicans in Paisley on the outskirts of Glasgow since the 18th Century, but it was in 1964 that brothers Iain & Donald Hart incorporated the company as Wine & Spirit Wholesalers and Scotch Whisky Blenders. Alistair Hart, who still selects casks for this special line today, came on as Chief Blender in 1975. His charge at the time was to secure and select the finest casks of single malt that were not readily available to the market. Their commitment to excellence is second to none in the industry and they...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Seavey has produced some exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons, and I predict the 1995 (950 cases) will be an unexpected winner in many blind tastings. It is performing even better this year than it did last, hence my elevated score. The color is an opaque purple. The wine displays a fantastic nose of classic black currants intermixed with cigar box and cedar scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied and backward, but persuasively rich, layered, and marvelously well-balanced. There is a deep, sweet mid-palate and explosi...

1995 Glenburgie 25 Year Old "Signatory" Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Top Pick!
This is the second cask of Glenburgie we've grabbed from the Signatory warehouse and it's another winner. The whisky is nothing flashy or wildly exotic, just smooth, rich, and delicious from front to back. Glenburgie is known more for its role in Ballantine's blended than it is as a stand-alone single malt, but these single casks should help change that perception. Once again we've got creamy malt flavor on the palate, a rich layer of oak from the two decades in wood, and a lovely finish of baked apples and other Highland fruit flavors. The 57.1% ABV lif...

1995 Cakebread 'Benchland Select' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (depressed cork)
New!
90 points from the Wine Spectator… 'Well integrated, harmonious if a bit rigid, the fruit flavors are pure and well focused, with layers of coffee, currant, black cherry and cedar. Turns complex on the finish, where the flavors mesh nicely. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.Best from 2000 through 2008.'

1995 William Harrison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
According to the Wine Spectator: "Complex and well-structured, with a Bordeaux-like mix of currant, herb, tobacco and cigar box aromas and flavors. Holds its focus on the finish, where the fruit is woven in nicely with the tannins. Drink now through 2008." (Web only, 2004) Stephen Tanzer: "Good deep red. Black cherry, herbs and an exotic floral nuance on the nose. Round and velvety, with an easy texture for the vintage. Finishes with dusty, even tannins and very good but not outstanding length." (May/June 1998) -- Check out the upside down government war...

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine of great intensity and richness, it displays classic notes of licorice, barbecue smoke, creme de cassis, cedarwood and forest floor. Full-bodied with sensational purity, a multidimensional mouthfeel and a long, voluptuous finish with no hard edges, it has only reached mid-adolescence, and has at least two decades of life ahead of it. (RP)" (11/2013)
Starting Bid: $225.00

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 96ST, 96WS, 95DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Harlan Estate is almost as perfect as the 1994. It has gotten even better in the bottle, and remains one of the most remarkable young Cabernet Sauvignons I have tasted. The wine, a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, was aged in 100% new oak, which adds subtle pain grille/toasty scents. This opaque purple-colored Cabernet offers up a nose of smoke, coffee beans, black and blue fruits, minerals, and roasted herbs. It is extremely full-bodied, with spectacular purity, exquisite equilibrium, and a seamless personality with everything in total harmony. The finish lasts for more than 40 seconds. This extravagantly rich, profoundly complex 1995 will give its 1994 sibling a run for its money. (RP)" (12/1998)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 l'Eglise Clinet, Pomerol (96RP, 95WS, 94ST, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the vintage's most awesome wines, L'Eglise-Clinet's 1995 has been fabulous from both cask and bottle. The color is opaque purple. The wine is closed aromatically, but it does offer a concoction of black raspberries, kirsch, smoke, cherries, and truffles. Full-bodied and rich, with high tannin, but profound levels of fruit and richness, this dense, exceptionally well-delineated, layered, multidimensional L'Eglise-Clinet only hints at its ultimate potential. This looks to be a legend in the making. I could not get over the extraordinary texture of this wine in the mouth. Intensity and richness without heaviness - a tour de force in winemaking! (RP)" (02/1998)

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Château Soucherie Coteaux du Layon Chaume. The Tijou family has a long history as "viticulteurs" in the Loire Valley region near Angers. In fact, they have practiced their craft, father to son, since 1780. The actual Domaine de la Soucherie was purchased from the Marquis de Brissac in 1952. At the time almost all the wine produced at the Domaine was sold to the negociant firm of Nicholas. Pierre-Yves Tijou, the current proprietor, took over the management of the estate in 1969 and began to bottle a portion of the production. Today, the entire production is estate-bottled. The Domaine de la Soucherie is composed of 30 hectares of vineyards, four of which are within the highly coveted area of "Chaume" and 1.80 of which are within the confines of the Savennieres appellation in the "Clos des Perriers".
