This stupendous little Arran is a first for us, peated single barrel Arran! The young distillery was founded in 1995 on the sparsely populated island of Arran that was once a hot bed of illicit malt production. At one time there were upwards of 50 distillers operating in the area. Situated in the tiny town of Lochranza, the peated expression from the Island distiller has always been rare, but going forward stocks will be incredibly limited as they've moved production of peated malt to the second distillery on the island, Lagg. Owned by Isle of Arran dist...

2005 Ledaig 17 Year Old "Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseur's Choice" K&L Exclusive Cask #18600201 2nd Fill Sherry Hogshead Nonchillfiltered Cask Strength Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)
Top Pick!
Ledaig Single Malt is a cherished gem from the Hebridean Isles and comes from one of the oldest distilleries in all of Scotland. Produced on again, off again since its founding in 1798, and licensed since 1823, the Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull is known primarily for its two single malt marks. Tobermory, an unpeated dram and Ledaig, with its heavily peated characteristics. Both are widely regarded as malts of outstanding quality. Both malts owe their rich character to the unusual stills that lie at the heart of the distillery - bulbous stills ...

2011 Jura 12 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single First Fill Bourbon Barrel Cask Strength Isle of Jura Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Top Pick!
The mystical Isle Of Jura offers one of the most isolated regions in Scotland. The 150 square mile island has just a couple hundred residents but boasts a huge population of red deer. Built in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, it fell into disrepair until two of the islands old families rebuilt in the 1960s. The distillery was ultimately purchased by famed blenders Whyte & Mackay after a hostile takeover battle over Invergordon Distillers. Now the distillery produces a modest 2.5 million liters of pure alcohol per year, mostly destined for blends. Very few sin...

93 points Whisky Advocate: "Fresh sea-blown peat on the nose, pine tar, sea salt, seaweed, dried seashells, and a tropical note of lime. Sweeter vanilla scents emerge, along with coconut, light nuttiness, and a hint of coffee. It’s peated but light and floral. The palate is honeyed, with vanilla, spice, dark chocolate, and lemon playing above beautifully integrated charcoal and peat. The mellow peat influence integrates beautifully into flavors that are dynamic, gorgeous, and memorable. *Editor's Choice* (DF, Winter 2021)" K&L Notes: The exceptional new...

The exceptional distillery on the far flung Isle of Harris has finally released their single malt. The Hearach is the first, historic single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris, since the tradition was lost during the Pabbay clearances of the 1840s. Created the old slow way with little automation and always the human touch. Every drop was distilled, married, matured and bottled in th elemental place known as Harris. The water is sourced from Abhainn Cnoc a’ Charrain, believed to be the softest of any Scottish distillery. Only very low sodium and chlorine...

Isle of Harris Sugar Kelp Infused Gin (750ml)
Top Pick!
The plan to build a new distillery in this remote place wasn't an obvious one, but founder Anderson "Burr" Bakewell believed the unique feel of this special island could be captured, quite literally, in a bottle. The rare and elusive spirit of the Isle of Harris, which had historically drawn a special type of soul to it, was dwindling. The population slowly diminished, drawn away by modernity and the promise of prosperity on the mainland. Burr Bakewell gathered a group of like-minded individuals, who believed that the Isle still had much to give its pe...

96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "Opening aromas are of sea breeze, cigar smoke, oak and malted barley; air contact releases light caramel, fudge, cocoa bean, burnt candle wick and heather. Entry is the most complex of any whisky; midpalate soars on oak, spirit and grain tastes. The greatest distilled spirit of this generation. Buy whatever you can find. *Best Buy* (PP)" (11/2008) 94 points Whisky Advocate: "Introduced to the Highland Park portfolio in 1997. Gentle peat, soft toffee, floral notes, and honey on the beautifully fragrant nose. Superbly bala...

90 points Whisky Advocate: "Another that should need no introduction. The thing to look for in Talisker, as with all smoky whiskies, is sweetness that gives the requisite balance to the drying effect of smoke. Underneath Talisker’s smoke, which ain't as all-pervading as Lagavulin, is a sweet pear-like quality. When young there are notes of the land: heather, moor, sweet seaweed, and a finish that has a distinctive cracked black pepper hit. (DB, Summer 2012)" Wine Enthusiast: "The piquant nose offers immediate and stunning notes of sea salt, peat reek an...

Wine Enthusiast: "This golden Scotch from the Isle of Mull offers smoky, toasty aromas. On the palate, a light coating of peat is edged with a saline note and touches of anise and honey. The smoky notes grow bolder with repeated sips. (KN)" (12/2013) K&L Notes: Ledaig is created in the only distillery on the island; the Tobermory distillery, founded in 1798. The distillery is also home to the world famous Tobermory single malt. While it has its trademark un-peated malted barley taste, the Ledaig brand represents the peated side of single malt from the ...

Whisky Advocate: "Diageo has introduced this new no age statement variant of Talisker single malt. The name reflects the distiller’s aspiration to enhance the maritime notes in this expression. Refill and rejuvenated casks have both contributed to its maturation. The nose is youthful but rounded, with brine, burning wood embers, vanilla, and honey. Sweet and spicy on the palate, with cranberries and black currants, while peat smoke is always present, plus black pepper. The finish lingers, with walnuts and fruity peat. (Vol. 22, #2)" K&L Notes: Whisky Ad...

Highland Park 12 Year Old + 50ml of Highland Park 18 Isle of Orkney Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750m+50ml)
Top Pick!
A great package - HP 12 with a 50ml rider of HP 18 all at the regular price of the 12 year! Highland Park, one of only two distilleries in the Orkney Isles, is the world's most northerly whisky distillery. It was founded in 1798 by Magnus Euson. Until it was licensed in 1825, its production was illicit and Euson was assisted in evading the excisemen by a kinsman who was a Kirk elder, and hid the contraband under the pulpit. By the 1880s, Highland Park had an established reputation and at one time both the King of Denmark and the Emperor of Russia declare...

The Isle of Raasay Single Malt Whisky is the the first major export from this tiny isle in quite some time. This 46.4% ABV spirit is naturally colored and non-chill filtered, offering hints of peatiness and rich dark fruit flavors. The magic truly lies in the maturation process. A delicate dance of peated and unpeated spirits, each matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin Oak, and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. It's their distinctive blend of six recipe casks that gives this dram its elegance, complexity, and depth. The best par...

91 points Whisky Advocate: "White peach, juicy green pear, vanilla, and green tea meet the fresh aromas of clean sheets flapping on the clothesline in a crisp spring breeze. The palate is silky and light-bodied, sweet with biscuity malt, toasted almonds, cantaloupe, and milk chocolate; a few drops of water evoke oily sprays of lemon, grapefruit, and orange. Creamy and nutty on the finish, sprinkled with toasted almonds, bittersweet oak, and a whiff of tobacco. (SSB, Spring 2021)" K&L Notes: From the beloved Arran distillery comes this delicious, age-sta...
