90-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A medium-complex bouquet that demands focus and time; offers scents of grass, textile, peanut, beeswax with an underlying honeyed sweetness. The palate is mellow and marshmallow sweet, then features luscious and delicate flavors of honey, cola nut and cream. Elegant, poised and succulent. (PP)" (08/2007) K&L Notes: El Dorado Rum is made by Demerara Distillers Limited in Guyana, perhaps the single greatest rum producer on the planet. We sell virtually no spiced rum here at K&L. This is not because spiced rum is inherently bad, it's just that the vast majority of the spiced rums on the market are packed full of artificial garbage and they taste like it. Not so with Bounty. The St. Lucia classic is a lovely and inexpensive spiced rum for whatever your cocktail or sipping needs might be. It's foucsed on vanilla and cinnamon, but also includes a local St. Lucian bark from the Richeria grandis "Bois Bande" tree giving it a unique local flavor.

The Bonsucro Certified molasses is fermented for 36 hours in open air fermenters and then double distilled in creole column stills before aging for 2 yeas in oak. Wate is provided by a local spring fed pond and supplemented with RO rainwater. Bounty is the workhorse rum of nearly every bar in St. Lucia, and at its very affordable price and excellent quality levels, it's easy to see why.

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lively and complex, this carries aromas of honey, cedar, Mandarin orange, cooked pineapple and brown sugar. The plush, slightly viscous palate echoes those flavors, layering on bright flickers of cedar and lemon peel, plus a hint of funk reminiscent of agricole rhum. It finishes with a warming clove tingle on the tip of the tongue. Made with 100% pot still Jamaican rum, aged first in Jamaica and then in ex-Cognac casks at the Ferrand estate. *Best Buy* (KN)" (06/2019) K&L Notes: This stunning 100% pot still Jamaican rum is a...

The Charentais style still is attached to a 7-plate column. The first new distillery to open on the island in over a century, this is boutique rhum at its finest. The rustic open-air distillery creates the perfect conditions for spontaneous wild fermentation and the incredibly volatile soup of fresh sugarcane juice feeds numerous yeast and bacteria that live naturally on the cane and in the distillery. Many think of the Rums produced in the French Caribbean as the cane-juice-based product known as "Rum Agricole." However, the vast majority of the Rum distilled at these special distilleries is actually made from molasses. The stringent regulations on Agricole restrict production to certain seasons and quantities. Distillers in these regions spend the rest of the year making more standard Rums. A percentage of those molasses-based Rums are fermented longer, in order to to produce a more intense and powerfully flavored blending Rhum. The legendary "Grande...
