Laphroaig 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $50) (Previously $50)
Top Pick!
92 points Whisky Advocate: "This expression offers an uncompromising note of brine-laden peat and iodine, with charcoal and sweeter fruit notes also present. The palate is equally out there, with old-fashioned fabric Band-Aids, bladderwrack seaweed, black pepper, smoldering peat, vanilla, caramel, and sweet oak. The finish is as big as everything else, with barbecue, iodine, and asphalt. Still a classic! (GS, Fall 2018)" 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Look for a distinctly peaty aroma, with hints of smoked fish, bacon and mesquite. The palate shows peat sm...

Castle & Key Restoration Rye "Down For Whatever" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel #3583 Barrel Proof Straight Kentucky Rye Whiskey (750ml) (Previously $65) (Previously $65)
Top Pick!
This lovely little barrel of rye is one of the first single barrels from the beautiful Castle & Key distillery to make it to California. The work of the C&R team is second to none in the industry and even more impressive considering it was all done within the historic walls of the Old Taylor Distillery. Millions of dollars were spent refurbishing the facility and they've now got inarguably one of Kentucky's most picturesque. But the bucolic environs are not why we keep showing up at the ancient distillery, it's the wonderful whisky they distill. This sin...

The exceptional Tom's Foolery Distillery in Chagrin Falls, Ohio is easily one of the country's finest craft distillers. The tiny operation helmed by Tom and Lianne Herbruck and they specialize in using traditional methods to create innovative and exciting products. Using locally sourced grains and fruit the Herbruck's have now opened dedicated facility to the production of their excellent spirits, but when we met them, they were distilling on and old pot still in the shed behind their house. That special pot was purpose built for the Shaefferstown Distil...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Delicious but fiery, this nine-year-old small-batch Bourbon offers deep toffee aromatics and bold flavor. On the palate, look for relatively dry flavors: leather, cedar, dried orange peel. A splash of water softens the profile to bring out more vanilla, honey, even a touch of chocolate. (KN)" (09/2014) 90 points Whisky Advocate: "Knob was one of the first bourbons I had when I started taking whiskey seriously, and it’s still a kicker. No-nonsense, flint-hard nose: slickly-polished oak furniture, cinnamon stick, cracked rye, ...

Since 2002 Domaine Séailles is officially certified as organic in all of their wine and Armagnac production. They've foresworn chemicals pesticides and artificial fertilizers and instead opt for a biodynamic approach. While the brandies that have been made this way are still quite young by many Armagnac standards, they are lively, bright, and delicious in their own right (not to mention showing tremendous aging potential). If you're looking for a punchy young Armagnac with crystal-clear fruit and excellent pedigree, combined with a stewardship of the env...

The Tom's Foolery Distillery outside of Cleveland is easily one of the most exciting craft distillers in the States. Tom Herbruck is a true distiller, who fell in love with the craft as a kid distilling his fathers wine as a hobby. When he began to take it seriously he made the incredibly prescient move to acquire a historically significant set up from the old Michter's Distillery in the Schaefferstown, PA. For several years, Tom distilled a variety of single barrels of various mashbills and was able to make a name for himself releasing some of the first...

The exceptional Père Labat Rhum Agricole is finally available in California! Distilled on the small island of Marie-Galante, the estate's sugarcane fields, distillery and warehouses sit on a pristine 1,300-acre estate. Distillerie Poisson, built in 1916, is the oldest on the island and has one of the Caribbean's oldest stills. Not much has changed here in the last 100 years, but in 2007 Guadeloupe native Jean-Cedric Brot purchased the distillery and committed to reinvigorating the storied brands that made it famous. The estate has distilled rhum since ...

Ortolan is a modern, distinctly Californian take on the historic Italian category of rosolio. This ancient category of liqueur was enjoyed in European courts from the 15th to 19th centuries as an aperitivo and digestíf, a lighter and more ethereal antecedent of amaros. Ortolan sustainably sources over thirty different varieties of freshly harvest heirloom roses from small farms in Southern California to make Ortolan. Each variety contributes its own scent, flavor, and hue to create an experience more complex than other rose flavored products: lifted note...

VDM’s answer to the great Alpine liqueurs of Savoy. This love-infused creation spins the tale of a Parisian star, a unique transatlantic romance, and dedication to the art of distilling. The innovative digestive liquor, named after the mesmerizing dancer who stole Jefferson's heart, is deeply rooted in Italian liquor tradition. The secret behind the herbaceous and robust Madame Milù is the selective blending of botanicals, each sourced from the lush farm of Vecchio Magazzino Doganale. The harmonious infusion of botanicals such as mint, marjoram, absinthe...

Wine Enthusiast: "Topaz in the glass, this Bourbon has a bright, enticing aroma offering notes of vanilla, fresh apricot and root beer. The spiced palate echoes the nose, leading to an oaky finish that flashes ginger, cinnamon and cayenne heat. Distilled and bottled and at the Wild Turkey distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is aged a minimum of seven years in timber warehouses and is charcoal filtered. Ransom's Bourbon has been in production since 2008 when they first barreled down their solera system. The unique four grain mashbill comes from grain grown on their organic farm and includes roughly 2/3s corn and a balance of malted barley, rye and wheat. The average age of the solera is about 5 years old and it is uniquely distilled on their direct fire Cognac Alembic stills imported from France. There is simply no other Bourbon like it on the market, but most importantly, it tastes delicious and is well priced to boot.
