94 points James Halliday: "Subregional sourcing across Seaview, Blewitt Springs and Clarendon, from 30–55yo vines. Matured in 15% new French oak. For the price, this is very hard to top. Even if it were double, it would be impressive. Dark cherry, violet, bitter chocolate, Dutch licorice and clove. Very regional fruit profile, but discernibly noble and far from the madding crowd by virtue of its lithe, slinky tannin profile and well-applied oak; a welcome belt of savoury restraint." (04/2021)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Shirvington Cabernet Sauvignon McLaren Vale South Australia (92RP, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon was 100% barrel-fermented and aged for 12 months in 75% new oak, 80% American, 20% French. Opaque purple-colored, it exhibits a fragrant, expressive perfume of toasty oak, vanilla, spice box, black currant, and blackberry liqueur. This is followed by a racy Cabernet, slightly lean, with intense black fruit flavors, good depth and concentration, and enough structure to support 8-10 years of development in the cellar. (JM)" (10/2007)
