93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru is showing well, wafting from the glass with aromas of red berries, cherries, orange rind, espresso roast and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and textural, this is ripe but succulent, underpinned by lively acids and fine-grained tannins. This is the more open of Rapet's two Corton bottlings and will offer the broader drinking window. As I wrote last year, the Rapet family can trace its roots in Pernand back to 1795, and they are both one of the largest land...

94 points Decanter: "A bold and spicy nose full of black pepper, black cherries and clove which combine to give a soft savoury and fruity expression. Such vivacity and life force on the palate, the wine just jumps out of the glass, mouthfilling but with a lightness of touch and soft chalky tannins. Touch of oak gives structure and elegance to the bright cherry and raspberry fruit. From a 1.4 hectare clay-limestone plot, 50% parcel was planted in 1979, the other half in 1987. The wine is aged on the lees for 16-18 months, of which 12 months are spent in o...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Layered aromas of red and dark berries are trimmed in plenty of earth and humus nuances. The round, delicious and attractively vibrant middle weight flavors possess much better than average depth in the context of what is typical for the genre on the mildly rustic finale. This is excellent for its level and well-worth checking out. *Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*" (04/2021) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend dominated by some 70% Gamay, the 2019 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain derives from a parcel planted by Bouley's grand...

2019 Domaine Louis Jadot (Domaine des Héritiers) Corton Grand Cru "Pougets" (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points Wine Enthusiast: "Power and grace go together in this decadently perfumed, cherry-soaked wine. Profoundly ripe and framed by fine-grained, rigid tannins, the structured, weighty wine is lifted by luminous raspberry and red-cherry flavors. Stunning in youth, the wine will continue to improve through 2040. (AI)" (03/2022) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is excellent, unwinding in the glass with notes of cherries, plums, orange rind, dark chocolate, sweet spices and toa...

2019 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "A truly amazing Corton, thanks to the laser beam of sour-cherry aroma that shoots right through this sleek and vibrant wine. Great concentration, but remains light on its feet. The mineral finish extends and extends as you struggle to take it all in. Still very young with enormous aging potential." (07/2021) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons Faiveley opens in the glass with notes of cassis, wild berries, warm spices, orange rind, rose petals, espresso roast and sweet soil ...

2020 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Corton-Clos Rognet Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Back In Stock!
94-96 points Vinous: "The 2020 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru has a little more precision on the nose than the Corton-Perrières, focused and quite energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with more strictness, quite serious with wonderful tension on the finish. This builds marvellously in the mouth. Do not overlook this excellent Corton. (NM)" (12/2021) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "More sauvage and spice-inflected aromas are composed by notes of ripe black cherry coulis, earth and an interesting whiff of smoked game. The succulent and seductive...

2019 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "Such a classic Corton Charlemagne! Stunningly concentrated and powerful, but also so graceful. Very racy at the long finish, which has so much mineral freshness. Takes your breath away! Drink or hold." (07/2021) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is also quite promising, exhibiting aromas of pear, buttered citrus fruit, honeycomb, toasted almonds and white flowers. Full-bodied, satiny and rich, with a fleshy core of fruit and good underlying freshness, I hope it can repeat this ...

93 points Decanter: "This 'little brother of Perrières' is one of the signatures of Girardin. It is produced from 50% Narvaux Dessous, 30% Gorge de Narvaux and 20% Chaume de Narvaux; each picked separately, with Dessous being the first and Chaume last as it is the coldest. This has an enchanting nose of ginger, white pepper and wood spice, while there is plenty of extract here and a powerful structure. A marvellous wine for its level. (CC)" (10/2020) 90-92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Meursault Les Narvaux comes from three parcels, two owned by Girardin an...

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically all but mute and other than hints of mineral reduction and citrus wisps, there is little that is perceptible. In keeping with the nose, the medium weight flavors are compact, backward and very, very tightly wound before culminating in an almost painful finish that is balanced, chiseled and impressively long. I would advise not even thinking of opening a bottle before at least 5 years have passed. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (06/2021) 94 points Decanter: "There are three parcels: two...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As it usually is, this is at once more elegant and a bit more aromatically complex with its agreeably spicy mix of red and dark cherry, warm earth and floral top note. Here too there is excellent volume to the delicious medium weight flavors that possess both fine verve and minerality, both of which carry over to the balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This isn't as powerful as the Corton but it's notably finer. A qualitative choice. *Burghound Sweet Spot!*" (04/2021) 91-93 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton-B...

2018 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
97 points James Suckling: "Open and aromatic with honeysuckle flowers, dried apples and mangoes, as well as white peaches and stone. Full-bodied, this grows slowly on the palate with an intense, powerful finish. Lots of cream, cooked apples, lemons and light oak at the very end. Tight and right." (08/2020) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh and fruity, with aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, white flowers and stone, showing great tension and an underlying mineral component that gives this energy and length. The lemon theme continues on the lingering afte...

2019 Domaine du Pavillon (Albert Bichot) Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
96 points James Suckling: "In spite of the ripe-orange and exotic-fruit character that pours from the glass, there’s nothing superficial about this wine. Thanks to its generosity and very attractive fruit, this makes a very friendly initial impression on the palate, then the intense minerality comes through, building to a serious crescendo at the very fresh finish. " (07/2021) 91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood toast sets off the aromas of Granny Smith apples, acacia and a plethora of citrus influences. There is fine volume to the d...

2020 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
93-96 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Purchased grapes, from all three communes of the appellation. Mid lemon yellow colour, a tight nose, harder to assess because served after the Montrachet. Very intense, backward, quite ripe, and the necessary stones do appear in due course, along with the weighty yellow fruit." (10/2021)
Price: $379.99

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A very pretty nose offers up airy but ripe aromas of earth and spice-inflected red berries, especially wild cherry. The sleek, intense and well-detailed large scaled flavors possess evident minerality and muscle while delivering excellent focus and length on the powerful finale. This firmly structured and youthfully austere effort has everything it needs to reward up to two decades of development potential." (01/2021) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru comes mainly from Rognets and was completely d...

2020 Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
95 points Decanter: "At the very top of the hill planted on white marl, this four-hectare parcel is typically the last one to be picked - there is the elevation but also a wind that is always blowing here. The nose has a pronounced lemon peel and green apple fruit with a delightful, saline minerality. There is not a lot of oak spice or malo notes - only 20% new wood is used for the fermentation. On the palate, there is a laser focus and impressive finesse. With time it opens to show a lovely depth and complexity. Really top. (CC)" (05/2021) 92-94 point...

2020 Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Le Corton Grand Cru is a worthy successor to the striking 2019 (which I probably underrated last year). Soaring from the glass with aromas of rose petals, orange rind, raspberries, rich soil tones and cinnamon, it's full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with a deep and layered core of fruit, vibrant acids and fine, melting tannins, concluding with a long, saline finish. This emblematic cuvée has always been a solid bottling chez Bouchard, but in the last few years it seems to have attained a whole new le...

2019 Domaine Chandon des Briailles Corton Grand Cru “Les Bressandes” (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
94-96 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is deeper in color compared with the Les Maréchaudes. The well-defined bouquet features cranberry and wild strawberry scents intermixed with wilted rose petal and sous-bois, delicate yet paradoxically intense. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and fleshier than the Maréchaudes; the stem addition here seems more enmeshed. Just beautiful. (NM)" (10/2020) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mingling aromas of red berries and plums with hints of wintergreen, peonies, dark ch...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also sufficiently reduced to need a quick oxygenation. More interesting are the solidly dense and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate density before concluding in a moderately rustic and austere finale. As is often the case with young Aloxe, this is pretty compact today and a wine that will need at least a few years of forbearance to become more approachable." (04/2021) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new cuvée for Bouley that debuted in 2017, the 2019 Aloxe-Corton exhibits notes of cassis, d...
Price: $49.99

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton Le Rognet et Corton Grand Cru has also turned out very nicely, mingling aromas of cherries, berries and plums with hints of woodsmoke and coniferous forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, deep and sapid, with lively acids, superb depth of fruit and refined tannins, it's long and penetrating. It was with sadness that I learned of Pierre Guillemot's passing, at the age of 93, while this report was going to press. Having enjoyed Pierre's inaugural vintage of Serpentières, the striking 1947, on a nu...
Price: $119.99

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A perfumed and highly complex nose features the classic sauvage character of a fine Renardes with plenty of spice, earth and underbrush nuances present on the very fresh mix of red currant and plum aromas. There is outstanding intensity, richness and concentration to the big-bodied mineral-driven flavors that also display an abundance of palate coating dry extract on the tremendously long finish. This doesn't have the same underlying tension as the Rugiens but it's even longer. A qualitative choice but note that thes...

Full-bodied, this grows slowly on the palate with an intense, powerful finish. Lots of cream, cooked apples, lemons and light oak at the very end. Tight and right." (08/2020) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Wine Spectator's #6 Wine 2021! Fresh and fruity, with aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, white flowers and stone, showing great tension and an underlying mineral component that gives this energy and length. The lemon theme ...

96 points Decanter: "Labelled as simply Charlemagne, this comes from two parcels - one in Le Charlemagne, the other in En Charlemagne - that were picked a week apart. The blend certainly works, because this is one of the best examples of the Grand Cru in 2018, with understated concentration, 30% new wood, notes of beeswax and citrus zest and an undertow of minerality. (TA)" (10/2019) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is aromatically quite restrained with its decidedly cool nose of quinine, green apple, lemon-lime and an admirably discre...

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The natural coolness of Pernand is on display here as the nose is quite fresh and bright with its aromas of ripe plum, black cherry liqueur and soft spice whiffs. There is very good detail to the suave and rounded medium-bodied flavors that flash evident minerality on the dusty, youthfully austere and well-balanced finale. This firm effort should be approachable after only 5 to 6 years of bottle age but reward 10 to perhaps even 15." (01/2021) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Opening in the glass with n...

2010 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
96 points Vinous: "The domaine's 2010 Corton is a much different beast than the 2009. It has none of the early appeal of that year, but instead boasts gorgeous structure, firm tannins and beautifully delineated fruit. It is an energetic, vibrant wine endowed with significant floral lift, intense minerality and great overall balance. There is a cool austerity about the 2010 that will appeal to classicists. According to proprietor Jean-Charles le Bault de la Morinière, the small, loose clusters of the vintage give the wine its powerful personality. (AG)" (...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a whiff of herbal tea sitting atop the cool essence of various wild red berries and newly turned earth scents. There is first-rate richness and volume to the big-bodied and tautly muscular flavors that also conclude in an overtly austere finish that offers dramatically good persistence. This too is quite firmly structured and like any Corton worthy of the name, it's built for extended cellaring." 96 points Wine Spectator: "Fragrant with violet, black cherry, black currant, licorice, iron and spice aromas and flavors, this red is both powerful and restrained, with a supple texture and solid structure that are beautifully aligned, while the aftertaste lingers with echoes of dark fruit, mineral and spice. Best from 2024 through 2042. *Collectibles* (BS)" (10/2021) 93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An overtly floral nose reflects notes of rose petal, lavender, acacia and violet along with nuances of red and black fruit, earth and a whiff of ...

2019 Thibault Liger-Belair Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi"
New!
92-94 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru comprises just one barrel this year. It has a very well-defined bouquet of ebullient red berry fruit laced with sous-bois and truffle aromas. The palate is very harmonious and elegant, delivering supple tannins and impressive weight toward the finish of pure raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, plus a tang of white pepper on the aftertaste. (NM)" (12/2020)
Price: $249.99

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2020 Corton-Rognet Grand Cru has a very well-delineated bouquet, very terroir-driven, crushed stone infusing the red fruit a touch of white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fresh acidity, taut and crisp, gently building towards quite a complex finish with touches of Early Grey infusing the red fruit, cracked black pepper on the aftertaste. Excellent. (NM)" (12/2021) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Ripe, complex and distinctly earthy and spicy aromas include those of mostly dark berries and smo...

2019 Thibault Liger-Belair Corton Grand Cru "Les Renardes"
New!
95 points Decanter: "Made with fruit purchased from a 0.32ha parcel planted in 1956, below Le Corton. 40% whole clusters and 60% new casks give a deeply aromatic wine, with abundant aromas of ripe blackberry, menthol, mineral and violets. On the palate, the texture is silky and very fine, yet there is a core of very firm tannins and great length. This has everything one wants in a Corton, from abundant fruit to firm structure and an immense finish. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039. (CC)" (10/2020) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An overly floral no...
Price: $219.99

96 points Decanter: "Wonderfully elegant and yet quite powerful, this is produced from two parcels: 0.22ha in Le Charlemagne facing south and 0.28ha in En Charlemagne facing west. The wine is made with whole bunches, slowly pressed and without sulphur. The fermentation starts in tank and finishes in barrel, before ageing 16 months in cask and two in tank to display rich, detailed apple fruit, hints of citrus and a floral edge on the nose, and the impressively broad palate. Drinking Window 2022 - 2029. (CC)" (10/2020) 93-95 points Vinous: "The 2019 Char...

91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is ample, but not really invasive, oak and menthol influences to the earthier and more sauvage-inflected aromas of ripe red and dark berry aromas. The succulent, round and fleshy big-bodied flavors also possess evident muscle on the less mineral-driven but equally powerful finish that is shaped by an equally firm tannic spine. Patience is an absolute must." (04/2022) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Corton Grèves Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) wafts from the glass with scents...

94-96 points Vinous: "The 2020 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru is often one of Jadot’s strongest cards amongst the Côte de Beaune reds and this is no different. It has a captivating bouquet with earthy red fruit, graphite, just a faint hint of menthol that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, lightly spiced with a dash of white pepper towards the sustained finish. It will require several years in bottle to show its best, but it will be worth waiting for. (NM)" (12/2021) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Cort...

97 points Decanter: "The grapes are vinified partly as whole clusters and punched down each day before ageing for 18 months in cask (half new). Despite the fairly aggressive vinification, the wine has an enchantingly lovely, forward fruit character and a delightful, silky approachability. From my experience, this will continue to improve for decades. The Clos des Cortons Faiveley has been a monopole of the house since 1874. They have 2.77ha planted to Pinot Noir here, north of Renardes in this distinctly separate climat of the lieu-dit Le Rognet. Drinkin...

97 points James Suckling: " Complex and sensual nose of citrus and pineapple with a touch of melted butter, the powerful and highly structured palate energized by the driving mineral acidity that pushes the tightly wound finish out a long way. Drink or hold." (07/2021) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of citrus zest, freshly baked bread, beeswax, buttered popcorn and vanilla pod introduce the 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a full-bodied, satiny, layered wine that's rich and muscular, with a concentrated...
Price: $229.99

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained nose features plenty of spice and floral elements on the cool and pretty aromas of red cherry, black raspberry and a subtle application of wood. There is excellent verve and delineation to the relatively refined medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a firm, compact, youthfully austere and built-to-age finale. This is already solidly complex, and more depth should develop with time in bottle. Worth considering. " (04/2022)
Price: $109.99

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is reduced though not quite to the same degree; even so, if you're going to crack a bottle in the next year or so, I would still advise aerating it. There is again fine volume and punch to the bigger and much more muscular flavors that possess very good mid-palate concentration while displaying plenty of minerality on the youthfully austere and very dry finale. As one would expect, this is tightly wound and in need of at least 5 or so years of patience." (06/2021) K&L Notes: 93-96pts Jasper Morris Inside B...

(07/2021) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons Faiveley opens in the glass with notes of cassis, wild berries, warm spices, orange rind, rose petals, espresso roast and sweet soil ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Vincent Girardin Corton-Perrières Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes ((90-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Underbrush and a hint of minerality on the rich, full and intense big-bodied flavors where the minerality resurfaces on the finish to add even more firmness as the tannins are prominent. A classically styled Perrières and also worth a look." (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton Grand Cru (94BH, 94ST, 94WS). Wine Spectator: "Dark, dense and brooding, with a wild, feral side, but also intense flavors of blackberry, cassis, bacon and sandalwood. There's also a mineral streak and a corps of well-knit tannins. This will require time, but the payback will be worth it. (BS)" (05/2008)
Starting Bid: $540.00

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Louis Jadot (Domaine des Héritiers) Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (96ST, 95WS, 94WE, 93BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Knockout musky, soil-driven aromas of lime, chicken broth and crushed stone. At once dense and penetrating, with elegant but seriously intense flavors of lime, lemon, powdered stone and mint. Wonderfully light on its feet for a wine with this degree of power and thrust. Great building aftertaste shows superb density and cut. (ST) 96+" (09/2004)
Starting Bid: $110.00

96 points James Suckling: "Wow. This is a solid Corton with ripe strawberries, plums, bark and porcini. Full-bodied with tight, fine tannins, focused depth of fruit and excellent length. Quite muscular for the vintage. Better after 2023." (08/2020) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of wild berries, dark chocolate, grilled squab, warm spices and forest floor introduce the 2018 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons Faiveley, a medium to full-bodied, youthfully reserved wine that's deep, lively and concentrated, concluding with a long and be...

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Bertrand Ambroise Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet" ((91-94BH), 94WS). Wine Spectator: "The cherry, raspberry, floral and spice aromas are augmented by licorice and underbrush hints on the palate in this balanced and juicy red, which delivers solid grip and a lingering finish of sweet fruit and spice. Very pure and refined. Best from 2016 through 2035. (BS)" (06/2013)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Vincent Girardin Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru ((89-92BH), (89-91ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more elegant mix of high-toned red Pinot fruit aromas blend into refined, pure, sweet and detailed flavors that also emphasize an almost pungent minerality yet unlike the Perrières, here the finish is very suave, round and isn't quite as structured, focused or driving. To be sure, this is a fine effort, just not quite as precise." (04/2007)

2020 Domaine Louis Jadot (Domaine des Héritiers) Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Back In Stock!
93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is broad and muscular, unfurling in the glass with aromas of lime cordial, orange zest, white flowers and pastry cream. Full-bodied, rich and textural, it's a thick, fleshy wine with terrific concentration and tangy balancing acids. The 2020 vintage has turned out beautifully at this address, delivering concentrated, flavorful wines with alcohol levels between 13.3% and 13.7% and with low pHs. Winemaker Frédéric Barnier told me that efforts w...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Prince de Merode Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" ((91-93BH)). Sweet Spot! and 91-93 from Allen Meadows: "more deeply pitched nose of earthy and spicy dark berry fruit aromas dissolves seamlessly into rich, full, vibrant and sleekly muscled flavors that are textured, round and, as one would expect from this cru, completely serious. This is a delicious effort with fine depth and precision and about the only surprise is that it resembles the Maréchaudes in that it is very suave and well-mannered for a Clos du Roi, not that good manners is a flaw!" (Burghound, 04/07)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Joseph Drouhin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 95JG, (93-95RP), 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which comes from lieu-dit “Les Languettes” was picked on September 19 and comes from their own vines, as it has for the last three vintages. Fortunately, there was no hail but the crop was still reduced by 50%, equating to three barrels in total. It already has an attractive nose, albeit one that is tightly coiled at present, coveting its apricot and beeswax aromas, keeping them back for later. The palate is spicy on the entry with a fine line of acidity. There is lovely weight here, with quite a precocious, yet still tightly wound finish that suggests it deserves five to six years to really come around. Excellent. (NM)" (12/2013)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (94BH, 93ST, 92RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A barely perceptible touch of SO2 does not overtly mar the airy, ultra fresh and impressively refined nose of white flower, citrus, green apple and wet stone and it is this pungent minerality that is really on display with the intense, detailed and tight big-bodied and well-muscled flavors that positively brim with a distinct salinity that is more in keeping with a classic Chablis than a classic Corton-Charlemagne. Still, this is a brilliant effort by any measure and the finish is like a vinous bomb. In sum, this is a dramatic but balanced wine that should age well for many years to come. *Don't miss!* " (07/2009)
Starting Bid: $576.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Grancey Grand Cru ((90-93BH), 93WE, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "This is one of Louis Latour’s flagship reds, a powerful wine, with its dense, solid fruits, big tannins and concentration. Those black plum juices are building up behind a firm layer of dryness. Wait until 2012 before even considering drinking. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (08/2008)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((93-95RP), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Corton Charlemagne is Latour's flagship wine, as the Griotte Chambertin is to Claude Dugat and the Musigny Vieilles Vignes is to the Comte de Vogue. True to form, the 1995 is an outstanding effort. An extremely tight but super-ripe nose of sweet fruits is followed by a massive cascade of deep, sweet, intense, tropical fruits mixed with candied apples and red currants. This full-bodied, excellently structured wine has enormous depth and concentration, as well as a long finish (flavors of cassis, apples and a touch of lemon linger for 30 seconds or more). (PR)" (04/1997)
Starting Bid: $115.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 93RP, 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the relatively open nose of the Bressandes, the Clos du Roi is brooding, reserved and somber though the most black and dark berry fruit aromas are ripe and spicy and this spice character continues onto the rich, power and robust flavors that are supported by a balanced core of sap and an extremely firm but not hard core of tannins. This is a big wine yet it remains relatively refined and is clearly built for the long haul. * Sweet Spot *" (04/2007)
