Phil Baxter is one of the most talented winemakers in Anderson Valley. He also works with some of the finest vineyards of the region including Valenti, Oppenlander, Ferrington, and Langley. It should come as no surprise then that this appellation level Pinot Noir is one of the best you'll find at this price point. A rich, dark fruited style, but with plenty of savory intrigue and forest floor qualities adding complexity and depth. If you don't know the Baxter wines, this is the perfect place to get on board. 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Vivid oaky, earthy aromas lead to ripe firm flavors of apple and citrus in this assertive and well-structured wine. The char and wood-smoke nuances carry over to the palate, along with a nice nip of tannin and firm acidity that help to offset the richness. (JG)" (05/2019) K&L Notes: All from Roederer Estate's Organic / Biodynamic vineyards in Anderson Valley. A phenomenal deal in everyday Chardonnay.

95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Syrah Estate Gibson Block is the star of this range from Marietta. From a dry-farmed site planted in the 1880s, the Gibson Block is powerful, sumptuous and racy to the core. A whole range of complementary varieties give the Gibson Block striking inner perfume and lift to play off the intense dark fruit, while silky tannins add to the wine's racy, inviting personality. (AG)" (05/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Richness, concentration and an intense focus on jammy, berry fruit make this full-bodied wine big and bold. Hints o...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Both powerful and delicious, this full-bodied wine offers great depth of flavors, breadth in the mouthfilling texture and excellent length on the finish. It’s packed with ripe, tempting black cherry, nervy rhubarb, mint and spicy clove on the palate, while a velvety blanket of fine-grained tannins adds grip. *Cellar Selection* (JG)" (05/2020) 94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "From Anderson Valley, the 2016 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard has a touch of old-world charm in its savory, complex bouquet of dried earth, forest floor, leafy herbs...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir reminds be a Grand Cru Burgundy with its ethereal, complex perfume of bright cherry and black berry fruits, rose petals, forest floor, and spice-laced aromas and flavors. It’s medium to full-bodied, has moderate tannins and impeccable balance, and is a beautiful, savory, classic Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. This wine was completely destemmed and spent 16 months in 50% new French oak." (01/2019) 94 points James Suckling: "Fresh raspberries, boysenberries, cranberries, orange peel and lemons. Med...

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Alesia Pinot Noir Anderson Valley is unabashedly delicious, bursting with fragrant aromas of dried flowers, raspberries, wild plums and sweet forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple and satiny, with a juicy core of succulent, mouthwatering fruit that's framed by melting tannins. This bottling is already expressive, and I'd expect it to drink well for a decade, perhaps more. Note that this vintage hails entirely from Kevin Harvey's Bearwallow Vineyard...beginning with the 2016 vinta...
