Phil Baxter is one of the most talented winemakers in Anderson Valley. He also works with some of the finest vineyards of the region including Valenti, Oppenlander, Ferrington, and Langley. It should come as no surprise then that this appellation level Pinot Noir is one of the best you'll find at this price point. A rich, dark fruited style, but with plenty of savory intrigue and forest floor qualities adding complexity and depth. If you don't know the Baxter wines, this is the perfect place to get on board. 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep ruby-purple and youthfully shy on the nose, the 2016 Syrah Hawks Butte opens slowly to cassis, bay leaves, damp earth, baked blueberries and boysenberry with hints of mint chocolate, olive and beef drippings. Medium to full-bodied, it offers deep, intense flavor layers with a pleasantly chewy frame, seamless freshness and a long, very flavorful finish. This is gorgeous now but will reward a few more years of bottle age. (EB)" (12/2019) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "An enticing aroma of violets and dark choco...

Goldeneye in Anderson Valley has long been considered one of the benchmark producers of the region. Their Pinot Noirs have been consistent best sellers here at K&L for at least a decade. When we were offered some of their vintage Brut Rosé, a wine typically reserved for winery direct purchase, we jumped at the chance and weren't disappointed! Winemaker's Notes: "Anderson Valley has earned acclaim for the complexity and distinctiveness of its sparkling wines. Made from our very best blocks of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, our vibrant and alluring Goldeneye B...

95 points Vinous: "The 2016 Syrah Estate Gibson Block is the star of this range from Marietta. From a dry-farmed site planted in the 1880s, the Gibson Block is powerful, sumptuous and racy to the core. A whole range of complementary varieties give the Gibson Block striking inner perfume and lift to play off the intense dark fruit, while silky tannins add to the wine's racy, inviting personality. (AG)" (05/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Richness, concentration and an intense focus on jammy, berry fruit make this full-bodied wine big and bold. Hints o...

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Alesia Pinot Noir Anderson Valley is unabashedly delicious, bursting with fragrant aromas of dried flowers, raspberries, wild plums and sweet forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple and satiny, with a juicy core of succulent, mouthwatering fruit that's framed by melting tannins. This bottling is already expressive, and I'd expect it to drink well for a decade, perhaps more. Note that this vintage hails entirely from Kevin Harvey's Bearwallow Vineyard...beginning with the 2016 vinta...

Winemaker's Notes: "Halcon vineyard is planted high atop the mountainous Yorkville Highlands, in thin, rocky chaparral soils rich with mica-schist, fractured quartz and shale. The vineyard is densely planted with rows planted NNW to provide even sunlight exposure and shade. The northerly location, ocean exposure and altitude all combine to offer ideal conditions to grow cool climate Syrah. While harvest yields from Halcon are often small, given the small clusters and berries and extreme growing conditions, we could not be happier to be receiving fruit fo...
